After all these operations, the dismantling of the cast-iron sewer can be considered finished.

Preparation for installation of a plastic sewer pipe

In order to be carried out quickly and qualitatively from cast iron to plastic, it is necessary to prepare the following materials:

  • a pipe made of plastic with a diameter of 50 mm;
  • plastic shaped elements, this can be a tee, a crosspiece, a compensating branch pipe, if necessary - a branch pipe and a revision;
  • rubber cuff, with which you can connect plastic with cast iron;
  • fastening for the riser.

From the tool for sewage installation, you will need: a perforator, a hammer, a semicircle mandrel, which serves to lower the compensation pipe; marker, liquid soap, plumb.

Installation of plastic pipes

Replacement of the sewerage riser begins with the insertion of a rubber cuff into the socket of the lower section of the pipe. A crochet or a tee is installed in the cuff, the butt of which is lubricated with liquid soap. If the connection is not sufficiently dense, then it must be sealed with linen winding or silicone.

The pipe is cut to the calculated length, the facet is chamfered or sanded with a sandpaper. To accurately determine the length of the pipe in it, it is necessary to insert a compensating branch pipe as far as the stop. The received design is also inserted as far as the stop into the piece of the cast-iron pipe, which remains in the upper ceiling.  The minimum gap that must remain between the fitting piece - the tee or the crosspiece - and the resulting assembly must be at least 0.5 cm. A fitting assembly is made without cuffs and rubber gaskets. It is not advisable to connect pipes with sliding couplings instead of compensating nozzles.

The wall mounts: 3 pieces - for a standard ceiling height, 4 pieces - for high ceilings.

For final assembly it is necessary to install all necessary gaskets and cuffs, lubricate the ends of pipes with liquid soap, connect the pipes. After complete installation of the riser and clamping of all the fixing clamps, it is necessary to check the sewerage in operation, passing a considerable amount of water through it. And only after a successful test can be considered fully completed.

In view of the fact that the plastic riser provides noise insulation worse than cast iron, it is advisable to later arrange a protective box.
