Trend: a combination of tiles and parquet on the floor. How to choose a ceramic tile for a tree

We are used to the fact that in one room rarely get along a few floor coverings. Exceptions are often long corridors and studio rooms, which are forced to combine a beautiful wooden flooring  and ceramic tile.

We want to dispel these stereotypes and show that in fact, such combinations are very relevant and look very interesting. In support of these words, let's look at several examples of a successful weave on the floor of several materials in different compositions.

Working with the combined method of laying the floor is the main thing you should think about - about joints. You must necessarily discuss in advance with the foreman your ideas and learn from him the most aesthetic methods to seal the seams. For today, the most inconspicuous one can be considered the way of laying on the joints of a thin strip traffic jams  - by its color it is possible to pick up similar on a wooden covering.

The cork is also good because it is flexible and supple - and when working with "floating floors" (this includes both parquet, parquet board, and cork, broken into dies). In another case, it is necessary to put metal bars about two centimeters wide at the joints.

Monolithic carpet

If necessary, you can wooden floor  arrange an "island" of a more durable and moisture-resistant material. Such a reception will be very useful in the bathroom, a large hall or in the kitchen. First, lay out ceramic tiles, marble or granite on the floor, and after that make the laying of the wooden floor.

Inserts synchronous to the wall pattern

If the wall layout of a tile or other covering requires a repetition or continuation of the pattern along the floor plane, this can be done by combining the same ceramics and wood. In this case, make sure that the tile is universal and suitable both for use on the floor and on the walls (floor tiles are always stronger and thicker), or pick the same in appearance items from the same collection. Similarly you can do with the tree.

2

Complex intersections

With the help of narrow and long wooden boards  you can create whole grids and patterns on the floor. It can be rhombuses, squares, rectangles - you vary the complexity yourself. If desired, you can even achieve the effect of a Scottish cell on the floor.

When distributing the width of intersections, be guided by the dimensions of the room, the length of the wooden boards and the final arrangement of the furniture - the more space on the floor, the more it makes sense to spend energy and energy on complex patterns. Otherwise, they simply will not be visible.

1

Ceramic rectangular inserts

Wooden floor, if the laying of deck boards, it can be interesting to dilute the inserts of ceramics, stone or mosaic. All you need is to place the squares of the same width as the board, with a certain offset at the junctions.

Bold natures can use contrasting colors, but even those who do not consider it necessary and beautiful, will appreciate the fine transition between, say, a tree of color "gray oak" and gray granite with black crumbs. The difference in texture, color and material will look very competent and delicate in design.

1

Strip alternation

In the room of any form, one can consider the location of the unequal bands as one of the most universal solutions. It can be wide strips of wood and narrow stones, or vice versa. Everything depends on the purpose of the room. In any case, remember that you should push off when distributing the stripes and their place on the floor from the final layout and dimensions of the furniture to be installed.

Tiles of complex shapes and wood

This way of combining tiles and wood can be considered the most interesting. But it is also the most difficult to perform, requiring a lot of time and painstakingness. The main task here will be a competent selection of the design of the tile and the appropriate combination of wood texture. And for builders an important issue will be the joints.

Now at the peak of popularity there is a tile "pechvork", to which all the elements are different, as well as a form of ceramics - a small hexagon. With such products, complex combinations of wood / tiles will look especially impressive.

Center of composition

Knowing in advance where exactly what piece of furniture will be located, you can correctly beat the semantic centers of the room, using the combination of stone and wood on the floor. Draw the original pattern, select the material that will be laid out, and to it - and the background, which will occupy the remaining perimeter of the room. This arrangement looks very impressive, but it is fraught with the danger that with an unexpected rearrangement on the floor, the meaningful arrangement of the patterns will not open now. That's why treat this option with special care.

As you can see, the combination of colors and textures on the floor is very much in place. Wood and tiles (stone) next to look particularly interesting, complementing each other and emphasizing their beauty. Experiment, without forgetting about the technical features. Remember at the same time - the most important thing is quality performance, because without it any, even the most ingenious idea, can turn out to be unsightly.

Wooden decoration in the bathroom has an almost magical property: a tree, like the other, adds warmth, coziness, expressiveness and texture. And a little what finishing material in it can compete with it.

However, it is not a secret that wooden surfaces very poorly withstand moisture and temperature changes, typical for a bathroom. What to do?

A non-banal option is to combine wood and ceramic coatings in the bathroom finishings. Look at four excellent examples, as it may look in the real interior of the bathroom and bathroom.

As a rule, in this case, a strong floor tile or granite is laid on the floor, and wood panels are used to finish the walls.

An excellent solution - lay out the main part of the floor, and next to the washbasin leave a path from the laminate or a massive board, covered with a good protective varnish.

Do you want the floor in the bathroom to be completely wooden?

Of all types of natural wood, perhaps, only the teak floor is able to withstand the operation in the bathroom. But it can hardly be called a budget and affordable material.

One of the exits is to use in finishing the bathroom. Good ceramics look great and looks very much like a real wooden surface. But as for the sensations - alas! - not a tile, let alone a porcelain tile, can not compete with the heat that real wood is famous for.

A reasonable compromise between practicality and beauty can be the use on the floor in the bathroom waterproof laminate for wood. It is important to choose for the bathroom laminated flooring 32-33 class with a mark that confirms its moisture resistance. This laminate not only withstands high humidity. It is also strong enough to withstand a high load - and it's in the bathroom that all family members are most often. Choosing a laminate for the bathroom, it is extremely important to take care of good waterproofing.

As for the walls, they can be trimmed wall panels  from MDF or wood fiberboard. However, it is important that these panels are necessarily covered with a quality protective laminated layer.

Ceramic tiles for wood are one of the most comfortable materials for finishing. Due to its durability and resistance to mechanical stress, it will last for many years. The texture under the wood will give the ceramics a more attractive appearance, which in combination with the properties of the ceramics will give the room a truly cozy appearance.

What is ceramic tile?

A similar view finishing material  is a plate of baked clay, which, as a rule, has a rectangular shape. The history of ceramic tiles is thousands of years old. At that time, it had disagreements with modern varieties, and the first samples of ceramic tiles in the form in which we know it now - appeared in the III century BC. What is characteristic, until the 8th century AD, the monopoly on the production of tiles belonged exclusively to the ancient Iranian states.

Modern methods of making tiles are divided into several varieties:

  • Casting involves a method of obtaining a tile, when the molten clay mass is poured into the molds, where it is subjected to subsequent firing. This method has many drawbacks, including the heterogeneity of the surface of the resulting tile. This method is considered the oldest, but at the present time it is practically not used.
  • Pressing is the most common method of making ceramic tiles. The dry mixture for production is compacted and then subjected to compression molding under the influence of high pressure. Excess moisture in the clay mass is then removed using the atomization method. Ready mix  has a moisture content of not more than 5%, which is the optimal parameter for pressing.
  • The method of extrusion means that the finished clay dough-like mass is passed through the holes of the extruder. The matrix used makes it possible to distribute the raw materials evenly over the entire surface of the mold, which is later cut by special knives. With the help of filters from clay mass, excess moisture is removed.
  • Cutting natural stone on tiles. This expensive and ineffective method to date has also not received much distribution.

Experts distinguish several types of ceramic tiles:

  • majolica is a ceramic tile, obtained by pressing, after which it is covered with opaque glaze. This type of tile is characterized by high strength and impact on aggressive external environments. Majolica has found its application for exterior cladding of buildings,
  • terralja passes a double stage of roasting and differs in that it cover with one layer of a glass glaze. In this case, this kind of tiles are used indoors,
  • a type of cotto is most suitable for the production of wood tiles. This form is distinguished by its color, texture and mechanical strength, while the cotto is not covered with glaze. Warm shades of red and brown, combined with uneven texture allowed recreating an authentic kind of natural wood,
  • ceramic granite in its hardness is as close as possible to natural granite. At the same time, this type of tile has a high degree of strength and durability, due to which it has found its application for floors with an increased degree of load,
  • the clinker consists entirely of natural clay, subjected to heat treatment at high temperatures. Of all the varieties of ceramic tiles, it is the clinker that is characterized by the highest strength and resistance to hygroscopicity of moisture. More often such grade is applied for facing of pools.

As can be seen, there is a sufficiently large number of varieties of ceramic tiles for any task. While natural wood is a pretty capricious coating, ceramics show excellent performance in terms of durability and low maintenance requirements.

What are the characteristics of ceramic tiles?

It is fairly believed that high-quality ceramic tiles for wood should be characterized by such characteristics:

  • a low water absorption coefficient of not more than 0.5%
  • wear resistance at least at the level of the PEI II group, that is, for a bathroom with a high degree of humidity,

  • the same ratio of tile sizes. During the drying process, the tile loses up to 10% of its original volume, which leads to a different size grid. The ready tiles are packed in batches in which the actual caliber is indicated. By this term we mean the size of the tile. For example, the squares 300x300 mm have the index "0", the size 301x301 is designated "1" by the last digit of the size,
  • after firing the ceramic tile is also peculiar to slightly change color. At the same time, it becomes lighter or darker. If a batch of quality goods is bought, then the normalization figure "0" will be on the package. If the batch has tiles of different tonalities in the package and it can not be returned, then the following is done. When laying the tiles are taken into account the level of illumination and direct rays of the sun, falling to the floor. In places where there is less light - and the tiling is done,
  • when laying a decorative tile for a tree inside the building, it makes sense to ignore the frost resistance indicators, since this characteristic is important for those types of tiles that are laid outdoors,

It would also be superfluous to take into account the chemical resistance index. For those surfaces that are often treated with cleaning agents - this will be especially true.

Advantages of ceramic tiles in relation to natural material

Tile for wood: floor and wall is primarily good for its quality imitation of natural wood. The difference is visible directly near. In addition, ceramic tiles have significant advantages over wood:

  • tiles in imitating the species of natural wood can give any color, even such shades that do not occur in nature,

Tile under the tree, the photo of which is given below, is capable of reliably recreating a virtually natural interior.

When choosing a tile, first make a step towards the coloring. There are several recommendations that will help you choose the tone of the tile:

  • small rooms, such as a kitchen, a pantry is recommended to be finished with tiles of light tones with poorly expressed texture. Otherwise, sharply outlined lines and transitions visually reduce the space. In addition, it is advisable to use a tile of warm shades,
  • for large rooms, in particular, the living room, advise the use of ceramic tiles of juicy and more often dark shades. For example, wenge, cherry, pink maple,
  • for the bathroom and the restroom shade shades are better suited, such as maple, light oak, pear, ash.

The combination of texture and color of dark wenge and bleached wood, for example, Bermchola pine, looks spectacular and spectacular. Tiles in living quarters are best chosen for the color of furniture, so that the entire interior is divided into two basic color solutions. It is allowed to use a color that resonates with the main gamut.

Exquisitely and unusually look types of imitators, recreating the texture of rosewood, wenge and African rajbush. Due to the abundance of the proposed models, ceramic tiles create a style for any interior, from art deco to high-tech.

Ceramic tiles for wood for bathroom

For walls and bathroom floors, the tile is the most suitable, which is characterized by increased resistance to moisture and chemicals. Since the bathroom is a room with high humidity, the tile should be distinguished by a fine-pored structure, due to which it is impossible to penetrate the interior of the ceramic material.

In this case, the tile should have a rough non-slip surface with a matte shade. The index of wear resistance of tiles for floor tiles  corresponds to 2 items on the PEI scale. The chemical resistance index corresponds to the "AA" class. Therefore, it is worth buying a ceramic tile of this class to give the bathroom an elitist decorativeness.

Ceramic tiles for wood for kitchen

Ceramic tiles, a photo with variative performances of which it demonstrates - will an excellent solution for kitchen. As you know, in the kitchen there is an atmosphere of increased pollution. Soot from cooking, contamination of the floor with food particles during cooking and subsequent wet cleaning with aggressive cleaning agents - all this negatively affects the durability of the floor covering.

Ceramics easily resists the effects of cleaning products, including chlorine-containing components.

At the same time, the strength index for ceramic floor tiles should be 3 points on the PEI scale, indicating the degree of resistance to wear. Chemical resistance in this case must also correspond to a high protection class, no less than "AA".

For the kitchen, it is advisable to select a ceramic tile with poorly expressed texture and a rough surface. The material itself should have a fine-pored structure to better prevent clogging and facilitate the washing process.

For tiling the walls of the kitchen is suitable tiles with a lower degree of strength. Firstly, it does not undergo such high loads as sex, and secondly, its price is noticeably lower.

Ceramic tiles for a living room

The index of durability for the living room is the same as for tiles in the kitchen. At the same time, the scheme is not so demanding for its chemical resistance, allowing for stacking with an indicator similar to the "C" class. Ceramics are good in that its pattern, color and texture do not deteriorate over time and is not exposed to sunlight. Therefore, the laid floor-imitator of natural wood with time will not fade in the sun.

  • less slip,
  • weaker absorbency of dirt,
  • on the matte surface are less visible traces of mechanical damage and scratches,

Tile for swimming pool and sauna

Inside such premises there is often high humidity and high temperature. At the same time, a sharp change in temperature also adversely affects the durability of the material. In such conditions, experts recommend using a tile with a low-porosity structure and poor water absorption.

At the same time, it is important to remember that ceramics well accumulates heat. In saunas and baths, it is advisable to make the floor in a steam room from wood. In the same case, if the floor is a ceramic tile base, then it makes sense to cover them on top with wooden decking. This will help to avoid possible injuries, since even anti-slip varieties are not able to provide proper safety.

The wear resistance index for steam rooms, saunas and baths is recommended at PEI II level, chemical resistance class "AA". The water absorption of the material should not exceed 0.5%

What else to consider?

There are certain features of using such a tile indoors. They need to know even before choosing a tone and generally creating a design project. Namely:

  • The floor palette in such a room can be lighter than the walls.
  • If the tile is also used for, then it should be lighter, more tender.
  • When selecting plumbing in the same color, it is better to give preference to matte surfaces.
  • To obtain the necessary result, it is important not to overdo it with the basic shade

Advice! Do not combine too different shades, even one color. Such tandems are quite complex, and making them organic is also almost impossible. It is best to pick up close ones on the spectrum.

Careful attention is important to give - it should not be too bright, because then the nobility of color is leveled. It is better to choose a soft, diffused. Chandelier can be central, but very well proven.

    Conclusion

Purple tile is so multifaceted that all combinations with it and not to mention. It can completely fill the space itself or be used as accents. The choice is yours!
