Construction and repair by own hands

Raise the wooden blocks or logs. Types of jacks and the rules for raising a ruminant house.

If the foundation is not to be repaired or reinforced, it must be completely replaced. Due to this, the owner of the building can significantly extend the period of its operation, providing it with a solid foundation.

For private households, there are ways to raise the house and fill the foundation quickly and safely.

How to choose a way to raise the house?

To raise the log house correctly, you need to consider the following factors:

  • weight of the building;
  • the length of the walls and the overall dimensions of the house;
  • type of building (frame, of timber);
  • the duration of operation of the old house, the condition of its foundation;
  • soil structure under the foundation;
  • the type of the base of the house, the materials used (stone, wood, concrete);
  • the purpose of raising the structure.

If the entire foundation is damaged, then it is necessary to raise the house completely. If you can do with the replacement of only one part, then there are ways to partially raise it.

At the disposal of the builders there are the following ways by which the construction can be lifted:

  • using a crane (used if the house from the log house needs to be moved to another location);
  • with the help of ropes that are advanced under the construction (the method is optimal for small and small-sized structures);
  • with the help of a jack (a universal method, recommended for different types and dimensions of the structure).

Rules and stages of work (video)

How to determine the height of the lift?

That during the rise of the corners of the building it was possible to easily and accurately control the step height, it is necessary to install a rail with a pre-marked mark. It must also be moved to the corner of the building from the frame. When the house starts to rise, the mutual movement of the two marks will indicate the height of the step.

The jack rod for measuring the height of the lift is not suitable. It gives inaccurate readings, because of possible subsidence under pressure of the structure. When lifting, it is necessary to monitor the position of the mechanism. If it is noticed, even the slightest deviation, the work must be stopped and corrected.

How to raise a log house?

Before lifting a wooden house, it is necessary correctly calculate the load, which he gives on one corner. For this, it is necessary to calculate the total weight of the structure together with the roof and divide the sum by 4. From what value it will turn out depends the cross-section of the beam that will perform the function of the support after the building is raised.

Then it is necessary to choose the places for the installation of the jack mechanisms. At this stage it is necessary to answer the question: why does the construction go up. If only the lower beams of the crown are to be replaced, then it is necessary to make a hole in the damaged logs to the depth of the stop in the solid timber.

It will be supported by a jack. It is necessary to make a hole for a large jack, because it will also pass support bars for more reliable support of a wooden house.

If lifting a house from a log house is aimed at raising the level of the foundation or increasing the volume of the basement, then before the work it is necessary to perform a niche in the construction of the foundation. This will allow the jack to support the lower log of the building. Such manipulations are necessary only in the case of working with a ribbon foundation. The pile construction does not require the use of a jack.

Jack technology

Raising a house from a log house requires the use of two jacks and more, a hydraulic type, designed to work with a weight of 5 tons. They must be installed from two opposite angles. Stages of raising the house with the subsequent replacement of the foundation are as follows:

  1. Preparation of the walls of the building to prevent their skewing, cracking, deformation of window and door openings. You need to fill them with boards in the perpendicular direction to the elements of the walls.
  2. Installation of the jack mechanism in the pit, located at a distance of 50 cm from the corner of the building, with a size of 1.0 × 0.7 × 0.5 m. A metal plate should be placed in the pit for more reliable jack stability. To put a jack, you first need to dismantle part of the foundation for a convenient stop.
  3. Exercise raising the building. Raising takes place gradually in small steps, especially if the house from the log cabin has decayed. The maximum of a single lifting jack is 10 cm.
  4. In the resulting space immediately need to put the props.
  5. Fixation of the building at a height for the replacement of the foundation. The usual height is 2-3 m.

Rules and safety of lifting the house

To carry out the lifting of a house from a log house safely, it is necessary to follow such rules:

  • the lifting of the structure takes place on both sides simultaneously to avoid skewing;
  • use only one jack is possible only if one of the four corners sagged relative to the others. The installation of the jack takes place separately, until it reaches one level with the remaining angles;
  • a dilapidated house is permissible to lift only 4-5 cm;
  • to fix a building when it reaches its maximum height, you can use the "bench" method; this is a cobbled structure, the installation of which is carried out under the wall of the wooden house perpendicular to it; The construction is based on supports, placed under different walls;
  • to raise the building, you must first disassemble the oven (if any), the attic, and also the roof near the pipe.

Replacement of the foundation

After the walls are securely fixed on the supports, you can begin to replace the foundation. Between the supports and the bars of construction, it is necessary to place a patch, treated with an antiseptic. Its width should be double the width of the wooden beam. Then, in place of pouring a concrete strip, gravel or broken brick is poured, a layer of 10 cm.

First it is necessary to make the formwork and fill the foundation in the usual way with reinforcement. While working is worth follow the jacks of the jacksso that when running down the building there is no problem. When the house from the log house returns to its place, the niches must be filled with brickwork. Before you return the building to its original location, you should make sure that the concrete is completely solidified and its set of design strength.

If you need a complete replacement of the foundation, you need to break the process into stages. The length of the house along the perimeter is divided into two-meter sections. Their dismantling is carried out through one to ensure maximum safety of work. With the corners of the house it is necessary to connect the reinforcing cage.

Between the freshly poured foundation and the last beam of the house from the log house there should be a small space. It is necessary that the developer has the opportunity to install a waterproofing. Its role can play roofing material.

If the house has no foundation

If there is no foundation in the basement of a wooden house, and it needs to be poured in, it is necessary to adhere to the following stages of work:

  1. Development of a trench with a shovel, depth on its bayonet, from the outside of the building from the log house.
  2. Installation of small supports under its lower part (poles and piles of wood or reinforced concrete).
  3. Backfill in a trench cushions made of sand 15 cm high.
  4. Arrangement of the formwork from the inside of the structure.
  5. Manufacturing of reinforced belt from metal rods, wire, wire rod, net.
  6. Installation of the formwork from the outside is as high as possible, so that later it would be easier to close the niche with a trowel.
  7. Backfilling of small gravel.
  8. Pouring of concrete mixture.

When the foundation solidifies, it can be decorated.

Owners of country houses often need to carry out works related to the repair of the lower sections of the facade or foundation. For these purposes, it is necessary to raise the whole building or its separate part, a special jack can help in this.

Such measures should be conducted with increased caution, the proposed article considers suitable types of devices, as well as possible ways to raise the building.

Features of jacks for raising the house

Types of jacks

There are several types of devices that allow you to raise wooden houses, all of which are discussed below:

  1. Hydraulic bottle jack   can have a carrying capacity from 2 to 100 tons. The only significant drawback is the large initial working height. To carry out works in the suburban area, usually models with a carrying capacity of up to 10 tons are sufficient, their cost does not exceed 1500 rubles; The remaining options are for professional builders.
  2. Hydraulic jacking jack   has a small lifting height; load-carrying capacity does not usually exceed 10 tons, so most models are suitable for carrying out work in the suburban area. The cost is significantly higher than that of the bottle variety, it can vary from 1500 to 40,000 rubles, depending on the characteristics and operating parameters.
  3. Hydraulic version with low pick-up   is even more expensive option, its initial cost is not less than 16,000 rubles. Such a device gives more opportunities, since it can work in a vertical or horizontal position, and also raise the house at an inclination. The maximum carrying capacity does not exceed 25 tons.
  4. Rack type with low pick-up   has a maximum load capacity of 10 tons, the initial cost is 10,000-12,000 rubles.
  5. Screw jacks can lift structures up to 50 tons;   The models intended for raising the country houses are in the range of 2500-5000 rubles.

What jack will be required?

To raise a wooden house, any of the varieties considered above is suitable. The main condition is the compliance of the lifting capacity with the weight of the lifted structure.

In the absence of confidence in the compliance of a particular model, it is better to consult with experts who will assess the safety of the planned work, help identify suitable locations for installation of devices and give other recommendations.

Technology of lifting the house with a jack

One of the most common technologies is lifting using one device, in which case it will be necessary to lift each side of the structure separately.

During this process, it is important to ensure that in one cycle the construction rises up to a maximum of 5 cm, otherwise its construction may undergo an irreversible demonstration, which will lead to rupture of the wallpaper, cracking of the window panes and skewing of the doors.

The lifting technology is described below:

  1. One of the sides of the house is raised, after which the safety beams are installed on this site, on which the structure will be lowered.
  2. Immediately after this, the device is eliminated and moves to the opposite side of the house, where it is necessary to repeat this algorithm of actions.
  3. Two more approaches are being made, the result of which is to raise the house from all sides to the same height.
  4. The cycle can be repeated several times to raise the building to the required height and at the same time not to go beyond the occasional indicators of a single uplift.

The wooden house has to be raised to replace the lower crowns or repair the foundation. In this article we will talk about how to raise a house with your crawfish with a jack, what to look for and what tool to use. Also we will tell about the most frequent mistakes that are allowed when the house is raised independently and their consequences.

What you need to know about the correct lifting of the house

Wooden houses are raised in various ways and for different purposes. However, the general principle and the algorithm of actions are the same in all cases. It looks like this:

  1. Disable all communications.
  2. Prepare a place for the installation of jacks.
  3. Install the jacks and unfasten the lower crown from the foundation.
  4. Raise the house and put the props.
  5. They make repairs, for which they raise the house.
  6. They lower the house, gradually removing the props.

Disabling communications

Going to raise the house, you must completely disconnect all communications - electricity, water, gas, sewage. If you do not do this, then there is a high probability of serious damage. In addition, it is necessary to cut all the wires and pipes that connect the house to the ground. Otherwise, they will severely hinder the recovery and may violate the integrity of the log house. Particular attention should be paid to the oven, because the oven is placed on a concrete foundation, not connected with the house. It will also be necessary to ensure free movement of the chimney through the roof. If the boiler is installed on a concrete base, disconnect it from the heating system. If the boiler is installed on the wall, it does not prevent the house from rising.

Preparing for the installation of jacks

The way the jack is installed depends on the type of foundation of the house.   It is necessary to cut out a rectangular hole either in the foundation or in the lower rims. On the columnar or pile foundations, solid wooden shields are laid on the ground, on which jacks are mounted.

Equipping a place for a jack, it is necessary to prepare an even and strong platform, which will allow the instrument to withstand the weight of the wall, often reaching 3-5 tons. Also need to stock up as metal triangular four-plated spacers (supports, bedside tables) with the possibility of height adjustment (they can be purchased at any autoshop), and wooden slats of various widths and thicknesses. It is desirable that the width of the bars is not less than 20 cm, optimally 40-50 centimeters. Such strips can be made of boards of thickness 50, 25 and 10 mm, connecting them with bridges of the same thickness in a half-tree.

If you are going to completely replace it under the house, you will need metal channels and corners in order to weld a temporary structure out of them, which will take on the weight of the house, until you finish all work and the new foundation will find the right fortress.

Place the jacks in such a way that the distance from the angle was 1-2 meters, and between the jacks was 3-4 meters. For large houses, it may take up to 10 jacks.

Do not forget that the jacks must be installed from the lower beam side of the overhead (lower) crown. Therefore, first, carefully examine the house to determine the lower beam or the beam of the folding crown. On the upper side of the beam requirements for the installation of jacks below - the distance from the corner to 4 meters and the distance between the jacks to 6 meters.

Home Improvement Technology - Video

After you have prepared a place for the jacks and installed them, lay under the top of the strong wooden spacers and raise the jacks so that they rested against the lower crown or wooden grill of the house. If a metal grill is installed under the house, then it must be cut in the place of installation of the jacks to a sufficient width, so that the spacer can fit. Having propped the house, detach the folded crown from the foundation or grillage. This operation must be carried out around the perimeter of the house. If you forget to disconnect the folding crown in at least one place, this will compromise the integrity of the house. If you only have one jack, then you have to lift the house gradually, laying wooden slats and rearranging the jack from place to place.

Lift the jacks gradually and no more than 3-5 centimeters at a time and immediately put under the crown prepared strips. Continue lifting the first jack only after lifting all the jacks. If something goes wrong and the house breaks off the jack, the bars will prevent speed dialing and a strong blow. As far as possible, change the thin bars to thick ones, and then place the supports. This will keep the house from falling under the influence of wind. The height of the raising of the house depends on what you want to do. If you need to replace one or more wreaths, then the height of the rise of the house should be equal to the height of one crown plus 10-15 centimeters. To replace the crowns, you will have to move the spacers, changing first on one wall, then on the others.

After the completion of all the repair work, for which the house was raised, it begins to be lowered. To do this, first slightly lift and instead of goats put planks. Then pull out the top bar in each support and gently, in millimeters, lower the house by 2-4 cm. After all the jacks have lowered one circle, again pull out one bar and lower another 2-4 cm. If the jack is only one, then first lift one side and instead of a goat put a set of laths. Then the same operation is performed on the remaining sections. After that, raise the first section, pull out the top bar and lower the house until it is established on the remaining package. This operation is performed in a circle until all the strips are removed. After that, the crown of honor is fastened to the foundation or grillage.

What tools are needed

When you are going to raise a house, you need to prepare all the tools in advance so that you do not have to run to the store for the missing tool during the work. Here is the list of tools that will be required for this work:

  • hydraulic jack with a lifting force of at least ¼ of the mass of the house;
  • strong wooden boards for jack installation (only for pile and columnar foundations);
  • chain saw for concrete (for plate and band foundations and reinforced concrete grillage);
  • different pads width not less than 20 cm each;
  • safety stands with height adjustment;
  • bulgarian with a disc for metal (for houses with metal grillage);
  • keys and screwdrivers to detach the folded crown from the foundation or grillage.

How to choose a jack for raising a house

When choosing a jack, it is necessary to focus on two parameters - power (lifting force) and shape. To determine the required power of the jack, calculate the mass of the house and divide it by 4. If the house is small, it is advisable to use a jack with a lifting force equal to half the mass of the house. This is due to the fact that in large houses up to 10 points of the jack installation, so the tool will work without overload, and in small houses only 4 points, so the jack will work with maximum load.

For lifting houses located low above the ground, roll-up and inflatable jacks with a 50-100 mm thick board and a width of at least 250 mm are placed under them. If the distance from the earth exceeds 30-40 cm, then the bottle and scissor hydraulic, as well as the screw rack and rhombic jacks, are well suited.

The most frequent and dangerous mistakes

When lifting wooden houses, the following mistakes are most likely:

  • they forget to disconnect the folded crown from the foundation;
  • too much raise one side;
  • the jack is unclear;
  • do not use gaskets between the jack and the wreath;
  • apply too narrow pads.

If you forgot to unplug the crown from the grill at least in one place, then when raising the house is likely that the skewed crown will split, because of what the whole house will shake. If this happens, then you have to caulk not only those crowns that you will change during the repair process, but all the others.

If you lift too much one side (more than 5 cm), then the possibility of skewing and jamming windows and doors is likely. In addition, too much lifting of one side will lead to a skewing of the timber or logs, because of which the house will have to be reinserted, and this is difficult and expensive.

One of the frequent and very dangerous mistakes is the fuzzy installation of the jack. If, in the process of recovery, he pushes the ground or somehow changes his position, it is likely that this will lead to a shift of the whole house relative to the basement. If this happens, returning the house back will be very difficult. In especially difficult cases, it is necessary to disassemble it completely, then reassemble on the foundation. Using a jack without a "heel" - the gasket between it and the crown often leads to a split of the beam or log. After all, the area of the rod of the bottle jack is small, and the pressure created by it is enormous.

Another extremely dangerous mistake is the use of narrow pads. After all, the raised house has nothing to do with the foundation, so even a small wind creates enough force to overturn the narrow lining, as a result of which the house falls from the foundation and collapses. To avoid this, it is necessary to use wide pads and welded triangular "goats" with the possibility of height adjustment. These "goats" are used to fix the raised cars. When choosing goats, make sure that they have not 3, but 4 legs. "Goats" with three legs are not suitable for lifting the house.

Then came the installation of the formwork.

s uchhund:

- Shields under the formwork I knocked out sheets of hardboard, filed in size 2x6 meters. For the rigidity, I screwed to the shields 3 boards of the "twenty" with a length of 2 meters and three boards of the "forties" with a length of 6 m. I closed the inner surface of the shields with a film, and for additional strength I pulled the shields with steel pins passed through a plastic tube 22 mm in diameter.

As a result, after the formwork was installed, the lower part of which rests on the old foundation, only the mounting openings were left unclosed. Having beaten the horizontal line, the forum member began to pour new foundation. A mixture of "mundane" suchhund cooked with such proportions:

  • 1 part of cement M500;
  • 1 part clean water;
  • 3 parts of washed river sand;
  • 2 pieces of granite rubble of fraction 5-20.

suchhund:

- I mixed the concrete with a mixer. After filling the foundation, the mixture was vibrated with a deep vibrator. If this is not done, then a qualitative foundation can be forgotten. After the concrete has gained strength, I covered the top of the tape with waterproofing and lowered the house to a new foundation.

Although suchhund did the job of repairing the foundation very qualitatively, the experts of our site, having familiarized themselves with this example, decided to give some advice to users who decided to do their own "rigging" work.

Igor Beckerov   (nick on the forum Igor3 ):

- I have been engaged in lifting and moving houses since 1984. I want to note that the above method of installing temporary wooden pads is very dangerous, and that's why. Gaskets should provide reliable stability of the whole structure, otherwise the house may tip over. The bottom gaskets are best made of concrete blocks, and for hanging the house to use special welded goats (bedside tables). And to pour a new tape is better not by separate blocks, but entirely - by a monolith.

Gromozek:

- Imagine: instead of concrete cubes (blocks) - steel supports in the form of parallelepipeds welded from a corner, thick reinforcement or a channel. In these blocks, it is necessary to completely pass the reinforcement, tie it, then put the formwork and pour the concrete. As a result, a single monolithic construction of the strip foundation will be obtained.

Welded curbstones-supports, which are put into the tape, do not interfere with the pouring of the foundation, and the reinforcement and formwork is supported by them.

It is important to remember that any mistake made during the lifting of a house can lead to the fact that the structure can move out of temporary supports and fall. Among such errors are:

  • Fast, uneven and too high rise of one side of the house;
  • Insufficient strength of temporary supports. But after all, on the house, while it is "on the chicken legs", wind loads also act!
  • Insufficient strength of the base, in which the jacks rest.
  • Incorrect calculation of the lifting force of the jack is necessary for detaching the house from the base.

Therefore, when raising a house, it is necessary to take into account a number of nuances that directly affect both the safety of the construction of the house (windows, doors, rafters, etc.), and the safety of workers under the house "riggers".

Igor3:

- Often asked: how to raise the house, so as not to drop it? The only solution is to understand where the vector of applied forces is directed. You can raise the house clockwise or vice versa. We make 3-10 circles (as much as necessary), until the house rises to a sufficient height. I do not advise raising the house by more than 350 mm, although we raise the house to 80 cm, and with the use of special technology - and up to 1.8 meters. When lifting, you must avoid swaying the house. It comes with experience - you already feel the moment after which the house will begin to lose stability.

Practice shows that for lifting a carcasser weighing up to 7 tons, 1 jack with a force of 10 tons is enough. The house will have to be lifted slowly, gradually rearranging the jack at different points. Raise the house (one side of it) can not more than 3-5 cm at a time, working in a circle! At professional works 15-20 jacks are used at one time.

Metal plates are placed under the wooden beams of the house. To increase the support area, the jack is more conveniently supported by wooden pads, which increase the area of support on the ground.

Horizontality of lifting is controlled visually, by separation points, templates (cuttings of planks), t. the laser level is poorly visible in the day.

It is also possible to raise stone structures, but using a different technology. A stone house must be raised all at once from all sides, otherwise such a rise will lead to the destruction of the building.

Igor3:

- You can lift any house. Brick structures are difficult to lift. Nowadays the cost of such work sometimes exceeds the cost of the building itself. Therefore, if the building does not represent historical or architectural value, it is not advisable to lift or move it.

The very technology of raising a stone house is next - in the socle sawed openings under the powerful beams. Beams are welded into a single frame. To raise a stone house it will take several tens of jacks connected with each other by hoses or controlled by a computer. Jacks from 50 tons are applied.

Such technologies are more expensive, because require more equipment, devices and skilled workers.

Almost pro:

- For the rise of stone houses, professionals use a very expensive hydraulic station with hydraulic cylinders. Requires metal, I-beams, welding, a lot of fasteners, because under the whole house is put a double metal frame. Therefore, the price tag for such a job is appropriate.

Wooden houses, built 20-30 years ago, were often erected on a poor-quality foundation with a violation of technology. This is not surprising, since then it was not so easy to find the necessary information, as now, and high-quality building materials were difficult to access.

As a result, the houses were built from untreated wood, not treated with special impregnation against rotting, and the foundation was erected with their own hands without taking into account the proximity of groundwater and the inclination of the soil to deformation and frost whipping.

Today, the owners of old wooden houses often face such problems as decaying the lower beams, breaking down the foundation, subsidence of one of the corners of the house. In this review we will tell you how to raise a wooden house and fix the frame in a stable position for the time of repair work.

If the wooden beams of the lower crown are rotten, it is necessary to count the number of logs that are to be replaced. To do this, you need to tap all the logs: if they make a dull sound, they are definitely wet and rotted from the inside out.

Also you can pierce suspicious logs with an awl. If it enters well into the wood, it means that inside it is rotten and friable. We recommend that you do not save and replace all the logs that inspire you with fears that in a few years you do not have to repeat the laborious process of replacing them.

If the logs are rotten due to dampness, do not forget to make sure that the house does not require replacing the wooden floor. You can easily determine the state of the boards of the top layer of the floor, it is enough to knock on them. If they make a dull sound, the floor is rotten and must be replaced. In addition, inspect the planks of the lower (rough) layer of the floor. If they rotted, after replacing the lower logs, you will also have to replace them.

Lower logs are often rotten due to the fact that the foundation was built without taking into account the close groundwater table. In addition, there are houses built on a wooden foundation, which can quickly rot away because of dampness. In this case, we recommend that you raise the level of the foundation, fill in a new foundation or carry out major repairs.

In addition, there are situations where a wooden house practically does not suffer from dampness and stands on a quality foundation, but does not have a cellar. To build your own hands the ground floor with a full cellar, you also have to raise and securely fix the house. If you want to make a warm floor in a house without a basement, you also have to raise the house.

Necessary materials and tools

Before you start lifting a wooden house with your own hands, you need to calculate the mass of the entire building, which is the sum of the masses of floors, walls, beams, floor boards, communications (pipes) and finishes, internal and external.

The mass of walls can be defined as the product of the volume of walls in cubic meters by the density of logs (it is about 800 kilograms per cubic meter). When calculating, always round up the mass. Pay attention to the fact that all the heavy furniture and interior items must be taken out of the house for the duration of the construction work.

When you determine the mass of the house, divide it into four, and you will receive a load that falls by one corner. Based on this figure, you can choose a screw or hydraulic jack with a suitable load capacity. Both designs are quite reliable and easy to operate.

We recommend that you pay attention to models with a load capacity of approximately 20% greater than required. This will allow you to take into account possible errors in the calculations, and the device - to work not at the limit of possibilities. Particular care must be taken when choosing jacks of Chinese manufacture, their actual load-carrying capacity is often lower than stated in the documentation.

Depending on your financial capabilities and the complexity of the planned work, you can purchase one, two or four jacks. In addition, kits from several jacks and a control panel are sold. Such systems allow you to simultaneously raise the corners of the house by a given amount, but are quite expensive and are mainly used by professionals.

Also you need to prepare the following equipment and materials in advance:

  • wooden slats with marks on them to control the height of the lift;
  • solid boards, on which the jacks will be installed;
  • wooden stakes or logs, which will be put under the corners of the house;
  • metal staples, with which the logs will be fastened;
  • a steel plate with a small depression, into which the head of the jack will rest;
  • treated and dried bar to replace the old one;
  • building materials for the construction of a new foundation with their own hands (if necessary).

Consider the sequence of operations in the process of lifting one jack. This method is used only if you have slipped one corner of the house.

Raising a house with a jack: a sequence of operations

  1. Determine the height at which you need to raise the house to replace the decayed beams or the construction of a foundation. Make a column of wood of the required height - you put it under the corner of the house, after you raise the frame.
  2. Try to make the house as light as possible: take out heavy furniture and household appliances, remove the doors from the hinges, disassemble the floor. Disconnect communications.
  3. Strengthen the metal braces of the bottom three rows of quality logs, which you do not plan to replace.
  4. Cut a hole in the old corner of the house in the old rotten logs, where you can put the jack, and then - the reference column.
  5. Place the jack on a solid wooden board, and between the head of the jack and the log in which it will rest, place a steel plate with a recess under the head. This will allow the jack not to slip out from under the log during the ascent.
  6. Raise the angle with the jack. The height of the lift should be checked with a marked strip.
  7. Place a prefabricated wooden column under the corner.

If you need to lift the whole frame and pour new foundation, you can use two or four jacks. On the one hand, lifting four jacks at once gives a significant gain in time, but on the other hand this method is more expensive, since you have to purchase four jacks with the necessary lifting capacity.

Preparatory work when lifting a house with two jacks is performed in a manner similar to the previous method. Note that the lifting of each corner at a time is no more than 5 centimeters. Do not forget to control the height of the slope on the marked rails, and the angle of inclination - using the building level. Alternately raise the adjacent corners, do not try to do this at the same time: at the slightest mistake, your house may become warped.

Raising the house with four jacks

There are different methods of lifting the structure with four jacks. You can raise the corners of the house at the same time, using a set of four jacks and a control panel. You can try to do without a console, by coordinating the elevation of the corners of the house via a mobile phone or walkie-talkie.

But at the slightest error in the synchronization of the ascent, the house can be skewed, so another method is often used. Each angle in turn rises by several centimeters with their own hands, and after lifting to a given height jacks are pulled out and replaced with wooden pillars.

In the process of raising a wooden house by any of the methods described, do not forget about safety measures, follow our recommendations and, in difficult cases, consult a specialist. Do not forget that you may need to replace not only the lower log logs, but also the wooden floor.
