Construction and repair by own hands

Simple and original shelves with their own hands. Shelves from plywood

In principle, making shelves of plywood with their own hands is not so difficult. Just need to know the features of the material, how to work with it better and remember about some of the nuances of technology.

In this article, we will learn more about how to build such a design and what design options can be there.

But first, perhaps, it is worthwhile to figure out whether plywood is generally suitable for manufacturing shelves.

Feasibility of using plywood for assembly of shelves

The material, in fact, is a layer of veneer pressed together. The initial wood can be from a birch or from any coniferous breeds - that is for use as shelves basically good.

However, it is necessary to take into account several factors.

  1. The material can be several which range from the first to the fourth. The larger the number, the worse the quality and, correspondingly, the strength of the plywood.
  2. Very different composition of impregnation. The marking of the impregnation tells about the gluing of the layers of veneer. Depending on this, the properties of the sheets are determined - they can be fire-resistant, do not be afraid of moisture, or vice versa - to deteriorate under its influence.
  3. There are also differences in the type of surface treatment. The plywood can be ground from one or two sides, or at all to remain untreated. For shelves, of course, it is better and more aesthetically to choose products with the abbreviation "Ш2" (double sided grinding).

Also note that the sheets can also consist of a different number of layers of veneer. And since this directly affects the strength of plywood, it is natural, to choose a minimum three-layer products for shelves is undesirable.
  Therefore, it is better not to save and buy five-layer sheets - their price, of course, is more, but there will be no problems with the operation of the structure.

In general, it turns out that the shelf of plywood with their own hands is quite feasible and expedient. Because the material is quite strong, made of environmentally friendly components and visually pleasing.

By the way, the sheets can also be laminated - that is, with a beautiful glossy surface. Think, perhaps, you will be attracted by this kind of products - in fact in this case the shelves will look as if they were opened with varnish, but you will not perform this stage of work.

But ordinary plywood looks very good, this is also taken into account.

Well, with the features of the material, we figured out, now let's consider how to make a shelf of plywood.

Assembling shelves

Before we start the review, it is worth noting that, as illustrative examples, we will take a few of the most popular solutions. That is, we implement in practice those drawings of shelves from plywood, which are assembled most often.

These will be "through" shelves with pillars of timber, a design with closed side walls and horizontal plates on ropes.

First we will consider what kind of inventory we will need.

Required tools and materials

For fast and comfortable work except for the plywood sheets you need this:

  1. Electric jigsaw, perforator, drill and screwdriver.
  2. Various screws and dowels.
  3. Beam 50 by 50 mm. for the pillars or the coils of a strong and thick rope (what to buy depends on what type of assembly you choose).

  1. Roulette, pencil, plumb line and upholstery cord.
  2. A rule with a level.
  3. Hammer and drill bits of different diameter.
  4. Metal furniture corners, which will "hold" the shelves.

If all this is there, then you can start working with your own hands.

Tip: if you plan to make only shelves, and do not do all the other interior elements yourself, then, probably, in this case it's pointless to spend money on the specified power tool.
  But you can not abandon it either - otherwise it will be harder to work.
  Therefore, it is recommended to act extremely simply - to take the necessary instrument for rent.
This will be cheap, since the inventory will need a maximum of a couple of days.

Let's get to work.

Installation step by step

The first way, the sequence of which we will analyze, is the fastening of the shelves to the ropes. Here the point is that in the end an interesting design of the design is obtained, due to the styling of the racks "under the rope".

It is important only to understand that the shelves can not be suspended 100% on the rope, because in this case the system will stagger at the slightest touch.

This technology is implemented approximately like this:

  1. With the help of an electric jigsaw, the shelves are cut themselves - in fact, they are rectangles of a certain size.
  2. On the back of the shelf are attached several corners - they will be adjacent to the plane of the wall and thus, as it were, fix the structure "in place". Due to this fixation, the moment of reeling is eliminated.

  1. At the corners of the outer side of the rectangles are drilled holes, which should be the same diameter as the purchased rope.
  2. The optimal distance, which should be between the shelves, is calculated. In accordance with the figures obtained, horizontal lines are drawn on the wall - this will be the reference point for screwing, the same fixation of the plywood.
  3. The shelves are attached to the wall at the corners.
  4. On the ceiling with the help of a puncher, a rope hangs on some nice hook-it must be clearly over the holes drilled in the shelves.

  1. The rope cuts into the hole of each shelf, and knots are made at the corners of the veneer - they do not allow the tree to fall below the planned level. "Knit" nodules and generally move - you need to top down, naturally.

It turns out that the assembly is complete after the prepared plywood is attached to the wall and "picked up" by knots. If you do not paint the plane, then the design can be used.

Note that before realizing such drawings of plywood shelves with your own hands, you must invite an assistant.
  Because at the moment when you have attached the tree to the wall, and the ropes have not yet "picked up" it, the shelves after all will start to fall from the outside and break at the place where the corners are fixed.
  If there is no one to help, then we need to come up with some sort of "safety" temporary supports.

Now let's take a look at the step-by-step installation techniques for the cant.

This is also obtained through the shelves (that is, without the closed side walls), as in the previous case, but the way of assembling here is slightly different, in a sense simpler and easier.

  1. The plywood is cut to the correct size.
  2. The height of the ceilings is calculated and, in accordance with the received data, two long beams are cut off - these will be our corner external posts.
  3. The depth of the structure is determined, and then the cantilever is fixed vertically to the ceiling and floor.
  4. Now you need to calculate the optimal distance that you want to make between the shelves themselves. Let's say the plates will be located every half a meter. "Lower" the first point from the ceiling down and put it on one of the racks. Then, with the help of a level, we transfer the points to the adjacent bar and, of course, to the walls.

  1. Next, "postpone" from each point of the label down, every 50 cm. This will be the angles of our shelves.
  2. Orienting on the made corner marks, we fix the furniture corners to the beam and to the plane of the wall.
  3. We put plywood on the corners, and fasten the wood with short screws.

The rack with wooden racks is ready!

Tip: if you are assembling not in an apartment, but, for example, in a garage, then be sure to take into account such a moment as the presence of high humidity in the premises of this type. This means that you also need to buy plywood moisture resistant, and protect the beam from decay - you can do this as an ordinary antiseptic for wood.

And consider how to make a shelf of plywood with their own hands with closed side walls.

What is needed for closed side walls in terms of functionality, is, for example, for storing books so that objects do not fall out, etc. And if you need to put on such shelves just a bowl or, for example, a statuette, then in principle it is better to do an "open" type of construction. Because it will be visually more logical and more pleasant.

Perform the work as follows:

  1. We make a framework of wood. To do this, measure the distance from floor to ceiling and cut four bars of the required length.
  2. We fix two bars to the plane of the wall vertically. In this case, the distance between them horizontally must be the same as the width of the shelves.
  3. Next, we determine the depth of the rack and put on the ceiling two points, which are like the outer corners of the shelves. With the help of a plumb-line we transfer marks to the floor.

  1. We install external racks of shelves - that is, we fix the beam vertically between the ceiling and the floor, focusing on the points made earlier.
  2. We retreat from the ceiling of 50 centimeters and put a mark on one of the beams. Then use the rule with the level to transfer (horizontally) the marks to the other racks. This will be the corners of the upper shelf.
  3. Similarly, determine the level of all the remaining shelves and fasten the corners to the posts. Then we put the shelves on them and fix them. And on the side "sew" with all the plywood or boards.

Such a simple technology.

This concludes our review, let's sum up.

Conclusion

We discussed with you how various shelves of plywood are made by oneself and what is important to take into account during such work. We hope that you will apply this knowledge in practice and make really strong and beautiful shelves! By the way, in the additional video in this article you can find some more useful information on this topic.

In the design of any interior, the important thing is the correct placement of accents. This ratio is achieved through the use of various items and accessories. But for their placement it is necessary to use various elements of furniture, fasteners, especially if the question concerns the walls. One of the best solutions in this case are wooden shelves, which are quite capable of making even an inexperienced home master. About what they are, how to combine with the interior, which is necessary to create a complete composition, we will go further.

Types of shelves

From the point of view of the furniture industry, technology in general, the shelves are a product that is designed to house, store items and interior accessories. Most often it does not have a front, and sometimes a back, side wooden walls. It is made from the most diverse, including improvised materials. But since the subject of the article covers traditional wooden shelves on the wall, their classification will be considered from the point of view of the form, the way of fastening:

By the method of fastening all such wooden products can be divided into two large groups:

  • The wall. As can be judged by the name, the shelves are attached directly to the surface of the wall or to the ceiling due to special elements, fittings. All three of the previously mentioned classes can belong to this group;
  • The floor. Such wooden furniture elements usually have hardware legs. Installed on the floor close to the wall. This category includes only classic or corner shelves, because of their design features.

In addition, if in the manufacture of wooden compositions elements that limit free access to content are used, then all the shelves can be divided into open and closed. In the latter case, for example, glass or polymeric shelf doors can be used.

Possible options for fasteners

Whether it is an outdoor or classic wall shelf, you can install and fix it on the place in a variety of ways:

In general, if you analyze these options, they can be divided into open and hidden. The choice in favor of one or the other is argued by the interior design of the room.

Required Tools

Making wooden shelves with your own hands is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. To treat this event as a simple scratching of the head is not worth it. A little wit is necessary here, but without tools, it will not help materialize ideas. For the creation of shelves most often useful:

  • Hardware. Depending on how complex the wooden structures are, you may need screws, screws, nails and, of course, dowels for attaching to the wall;
  • Fittings. In fact, it is nothing more than fixing elements, due to which the shelves will be hung on the wall or installed on the floor (hinges, brackets, polkoderzhateli, cables, racks);
  • Consumable material. These are wooden boards - the main part of any shelf;
  • Tool for working with hardware. Here you can use a manual (screwdriver), an automated tool (drills, screwdrivers), to which the kit will have to pick up drills, heads (bits) for wooden surfaces;
  • Tools for cutting. Here again you can use manual (saws, hacksaws, abrasives) and battery options (jigs, mills, grinders);
  • Measuring and auxiliary tools. The rule "measure seven times, cut once" here is applicable in full. For this purpose, roulettes, rulers, squares, levels, clamps, construction pencils are most often used.

When the tools and materials are assembled, it's time to begin the process of manufacturing shelves.

Preparation for work

This is the initial stage, which includes the selection and primary processing of wooden shelves for shelves. Selected boards, usually pine or spruce, should be as flat as possible. They should be free of cracks, voids, knots, focal lesions of mold and other defects that may affect the integrity of the future shelf.

Humidity must also be minimal. Otherwise, the board will continue to dry already in the finished structure, which will affect the shape, structure, strength. The drying process is more efficient if the wood billets are stacked with intermediate layers.

Shelves, which are selected for work, are ground beforehand. It is carried out in stages, using different abrasives. As a rule, the initial treatment is performed by nesting No. 40. If the roughness is insufficient, smaller sizes No. 80 ... 120 are used.

Important ! This operation in passing allows you to determine the degree of humidity of the board: the faster the sandpaper hammers, the higher the water content in the wood.

If small and medium defects are found during the sanding process, they can be completely sealed with a special putty for wooden surfaces.

Layout and processing

The ground bars for the shelves are marked with a measuring tool. Initially, cut off the overall dimensions in accordance with the drawings. It is best to use electric jigs for this purpose, since the surface of the cut is smooth and smooth.

After that, marking and processing of places for future fastening takes place. To do this, you will need to use a drill or a screwdriver with the appropriate set of drills. Perhaps you need to use a milling cutter or a specific cutting tool, but it all depends on what kind of fastening method, such as the shelf composition itself.

The choice of dimensions is determined by the functions of the shelf and the dimensions of the items and accessories placed on it. The thickness of each board is chosen taking into account the expected load. For example, the shelf for footwear is wooden - one of the most popular furniture products in the hallway of any house or apartment. Usually it is a multi-tiered construction, the dimensions of which are selected according to the following principle:

  • Depth - taking into account the maximum length of shoes that will stand on the shelf, and allowance (an average of 25 to 30 cm);
  • Height - in this case is meant the distance between the neighboring shelves along the vertical, which, taking into account the allowance, should reflect the height of the used footwear (usually about 20 ... 25 cm);
  • Width - the size of the board is determined taking into account the free placement of several pairs of shoes next to each other, or more precisely, the width of a separate pair. Usually the size of the shelf is tied to the standard furniture (600, 800, 1000, etc.).

After all the wooden parts are cut into size, and their geometry is brought to the appropriate drawings or design of the designer, the shelves should be treated with protective and coloring compounds.

Features of the assembly in the kitchen example

As in the previous sections, we have to state that the process of assembling finished products depends on which design, fixing is selected and what the purpose of the shelf is in general. Based on the operating conditions, wooden shelves for the kitchen are usually used to place on them various dishes and containers with products, usually loose. In the example, consider a simple L-shaped shelf, which at the same time will serve as a stand for cans and a "hanger" for mugs.

Obviously, the whole construction consists of two wooden boards: on the horizontal there will be jars with products, and in the vertical there are hinges for hanging mugs and fixing holes. Dimensions are selected in the first case, taking into account the diameter of the cans and their total weight, and in the second - based on the size of the lugs of the mugs.

After cutting into size, in a vertical board holes are drilled under pegs and for connection with a horizontal shelf (you will have to use a special angular jig). After that, both boards are connected with each other by means of screws.

The holes are clogged with prepared wooden pegs. Inside, pre-applied glue (PVA). With it, decorative circular stops are attached. They can be screwed with screws, but in this case you will have to use a decorative stub.

The finished shelf is covered with varnish or enamel and after drying it is screwed to the wall with dowels. In this case, its horizontal position is necessarily controlled.

Similarly, a wooden shelf for a fireplace is made, but its role is more decorative - ennobling the upper part of the furnace.

Plywood is an amazing building material, which is actively used for decoration of interior decoration of premises for various purposes. But beyond that, it has found its application in the furniture industry. But we will not talk about the interior items of factory production. Let's talk about how to make shelves from plywood for different needs with your own hands using a jigsaw and without the extra material costs.

Can I do everything myself?

Furniture purchased in the store can have a fairly high cost. However, if you make shelves from plywood yourself, you can save a lot. In addition, such a product will contain your warmth, have exactly the parameters you would like, and will be done on time.

If you think that it's very difficult to work with plywood, you do not think that way. In fact, it's worth a little effort and diligence, and the original wall or corner piece of self-made furniture will decorate your home. Look how it looks like a product for a handmade kitchen on the next photo.

What plywood to choose

Pay attention to the fact that the thickness of the plywood for the shelves can be different, since in the production of sheet material of this type can be glued different number of layers of veneer. The thicker the material, the stronger it is. Therefore, experts and experienced craftsmen recommend to abandon the purchase of three-layer sheets.

It is better to buy sheets consisting of five layers of veneer. They will cost more than three-layer, but any savings in this case is not desirable, otherwise during the operation of the product you may face a lot of problems and negative consequences.

What kind of shelf can I make

Yes, whatever. The main thing is to find the already suitable drawings on the open spaces of the Internet network or create them yourself.

If you want, you can make an original shelf for shoes with a jigsaw and install it in the corridor, at the entrance to the house.

You can make curved angular shelves under the icons in the corner of the room, open to the kitchen or carved under the flowers. You can build a wall shelf for various decorative accessories or icons, or you can create a book shelf, as in the next photo.

List of necessary tools and devices

What do you need to have in your arsenal to create a shelf for shoes from plywood own hands? To do this, you need to have:

  • the sheet material itself;
  • cardboard or paper;
  • stationery scissors or knife;
  • usual thin adhesive tape;
  • jig saw for sawing parts, and in case of complex design and milling machine;
  • a simple pencil or a crayon;
  • roulette;
  • hammer and nails of small caliber or a drill with screws;
  • water-based paint or wood varnish;
  • drawings of the future product (you can create it yourself or find a ready-made version on the Internet);
  • if this provides for a sketch and various decorative ornaments.

If you are stocked with a standard set for working with plywood sheets. Then you need to pay attention to the following picture. Before you are the drawings of the plywood shelf in the photo. They will be needed in the process of work.

Preparatory work

The bookshelf from plywood with your own hands is a fascinating adventure and an interesting activity.

First, determine exactly what size the finished corner or wall construction should have. That is, answer yourself to the question of what will be its width, length and depth.

Also an important parameter is the main purpose of the product. It will have a direct effect on the design features of the piece of furniture. Think about what kind of regiment you want to make: book, under shoes and another kind. It will be corner or standard, wall mounted or installed on the floor. The next photo shows several variants of similar pieces of furniture from plywood.

Next, decide how to decorate the future shelf for flowers from plywood. It can be painted, pasted with adhesive wallpaper, varnished and the like. Perhaps, you want to buy not simple plywood sheets, but laminated ones. Such material looks as if it has already been varnished. However, you do not have to perform this stage of the work. The assembled product will already have a finished look.

So, if the basic parameters are defined, you can proceed to the direct execution of the work.

The main stages of work

Let's give an example of manufacturing a bookshelf from plywood with closed side walls. This is a very functional piece of interior, which can be found in almost every home.

We perform the following works:

  1. We cut the shelves from plywood according to the drawings. To do this, transfer the drawings to the cardboard, cut the obtained parts with scissors and fix them on the plywood. With the help of a jig saw, accurate cutting of parts taking into account centimetric allowances is carried out;
  2. When the main parts of the shelves are cut from plywood, you need to build a wooden frame: to do this, measure the height of the ceilings and cut four pieces of timber of the obtained length. These brusochki fix vertically on the wall with a horizontal pitch equal to the length of future shelves;
  3. Now you need to determine the depth of the rack and put two labels on the ceiling surface. These points and will display the outer corners of the future product. Use the plumb bend to move the marks to the floor;
  4. Next, install the external pillars of the structure: fix the bar vertically between the ceiling and floor surfaces. In this case, the main points should remain the planned points;
  5. Leave from the ceiling for half a meter and put a point on one bar, and on the rest of these points, transfer using a rule with a level. This is necessary to indicate the corners of the top shelf. Also determine the level of the other shelves, and then screw the metal corners to the racks;
  6. On the corners, place and securely fix the shelves from the plywood. The side of the construction is "sewed" with plywood.

Carefully look at the video presented at the end of the article to understand how to make a regiment of plywood on its own.

A wooden shelf is a piece of furniture that is present in almost every apartment. Such a device is simple and practical, it provides convenient storage of many things. Finished shelves can be purchased at any furniture store, but it is much more profitable to make them yourself. The most popular materials for making shelves are wood, plywood, particle board.

Advantages and disadvantages of wood products

Why are wooden shelves in constant demand? There are several reasons for this popularity. Structures made of wood:

  1. They are environmentally friendly, safe to use. Wood breathes, does not emit harmful substances into the environment.
  2. Freshen the situation in the room and bring it closer to nature, harmoniously fit in almost any interior. Furniture made of wood is a classic, which is always relevant.
  3. Collecting dust is much less than products made from other materials (but to protect the wood from dust, it must be treated with varnishes, special means).
  4. Characterized by ease of manufacture. The tree is easy to process, so even a novice furniture master can work with it. To produce furniture from this material, a minimal set of tools is required.

But with all its merits, the tree has a number of shortcomings. Thus, noble varieties of this material are distinguished by a rather high cost, in the production of wooden shelves, a lot of waste (shavings, dust) is formed, and a poorly treated tree can leave splinters on a person's skin.

Determination of the permissible load on the structure

If you decide to make original wooden shelves with your own hands, then you will need to determine the maximum permissible load on them.

This load depends on several factors:

  1. The thickness of the boards used to make the structure. The more items will be located on the shelf, the thicker the tree should be. In addition, it is recommended to make a choice in favor of boards without knots, they differ as much as possible high strength.
  2. Method of attaching the product to the wall. You can fix the structure with special lugs, bars or metal brackets. The last option is the most reliable.
  3. Number of fasteners on one shelf. This parameter is important for long structures on which conservation will be stored. They must withstand heavy weight. Thus, a product of 3 meters in length should be equipped with 5 fasteners located at a distance of 50 cm from each other.

Simple book storage furniture

Easiest to self to make regular shelves  for books, to cope with this task will be able to even the person who never made furniture. To work, you need a board thickness of 15-20 mm and a width of about 200 mm, screws or furniture confirmats, as well as tools - jig saw, Bulgarian, drill.

First you need to divide the board into 4 fragments: 2 long ones (for example, 800 mm each), 2 short ones (about 300 mm). The workpieces must be processed with a grinder with sanding head and sandpaper with grain 120-180, then with grain 240 and above, after processing the wood should become perfectly smooth.

Then it is necessary to coat the parts with varnish and allow them to dry completely, after which you can connect the 4 elements with your own hands so that the box turns out. At the next stage, drill holes are formed, into which the confirmations are screwed. The shelf is almost ready, it remains to install the fastening tabs and hang the product on the wall.

Creative solution: honeycomb design

Shelves in the form of honeycomb - this is an unusual, very interesting solution, such an item will perfectly complement the modern interior. And most importantly - this design is not difficult to do by one's own hands.

The master needs, first of all, to prepare the boards. Their number depends on the customer's desire. To make a composition of 3 honeycombs, 15 boards will be needed. On their edges it is necessary to make cuttings at an angle of 30 degrees. It is most convenient to carry out this work with an end saw. As a result, each detail takes the form of a trapezoid.

Then you need to collect the honeycomb with your own hands, fixing the workpieces with the help of joinery glue. After this, the joints should be reinforced by drill holes in them with a drill and screwing screws into them - 1 or 2 on each side. Ready-made shelves need to be sanded and varnished, providing the product with a presentable look. At the last stage of the work, it will remain to fix the structure on the wall with the help of brackets and screws.

Rack in modern style

Industrial style is now very popular due to its functionality, minimalism. Industrial chic in the house can be brought by making a shelf on the pipes. To make it yourself, you need wood and metal pipes.

To give wooden products an interesting texture, a magnificent glow can be covered with a special oil or wax, and then - a water-based polyurethane varnish.

When the boards are completely dry, they should be placed with the top sides down, on each of them (except the top), set the round flanges about 2 cm from each edge. Accordingly, on each board will be placed on 2 flanges. Then the locations of the flanges are marked with a pencil, a hole is drilled through the center of each mark.

Then each flange is placed above the hole, attached to the surface. A galvanized pipe of suitable length (usually about 30-40 cm), equipped with a thread from both ends, is inserted into the hole by hand. Then the pipe is tightened in the flange with a wrench, a coupling is installed in the upper part of the pipe.

When all the details have been prepared, flanges are screwed to the tops of the pipes (above the couplings) and fixed to the upper shelves. Ready-made shelves can be made mobile if you install the wheels on the bottom board. The product is ready for use.

A convenient design for demonstrating photos and CDs

Make your own compact shelf for storing photos, albums and collections of records is not difficult. This design consists of several racks, connected with each other by a rope.

To each rake is attached a bar, which does not allow photos and books to slide off the shelves. First you need to determine the width of the structure, and then with your own hands to add the reheat blanks and sand it. Then you need to nail or glue the rails. Hats can be hidden under a layer of special putty.

The next step in each bar is to retreat 2 cm from each edge and drill holes in these places, the diameter of which slightly exceeds the thickness of the rope.

From each end of the lower shelf, a rope stretches and is tightened at the end into a knot. Then, on each of the ropes, the distance to the second shelf is measured and the knot is tied.

After that, the shelf is put on, the same actions are repeated for the remaining shelves. Then the free ends of the ropes are tied to special hooks or screws fastened at a suitable height. Now it remains to arrange books and disks on the shelves.

Building scaffold of construction pallets

One of the fashion trends in the field of interior design is the desire to replace elegant furniture items with coarser, "close to nature". Some of these items can be done by yourself. For example, collect shelves from wooden construction pallets.

To do this, you need to disassemble the two pallets and to make from the resulting elements 4 boards 640x145 mm in size, two boards of the following dimensions: 840х145, 680х145, 290х145, 840х100, 640х100 and 290х50 and 4 pieces 145х100 mm.

First, mount the base. Checkers are attached to the edges of two 640x100 boards. Above them, perpendicular to the boards, attached boards 290h145, connecting the bases with the checkers in a single design. At the next stage, two boards (840x100 and 840x145) on each side are attached vertically to the ends of the structure using self-tapping screws.

To finish assembling the box of the bookcase, you need to attach to its top two boards 680x145. Then the lower shelf is mounted, for this purpose two boards of 640x145 are attached to the base.

To install the rest of the shelves requires mounting 290x50 support bars, which are fixed at a suitable height. The remaining boards 640x145 are attached to the installed slats with screws from the ends. This shelf is perfect for storing shoes.

Original pedestal for children in the form of a horse

A kid can be pleased with a cheerful bookshelf in the shape of a horse. To do this, you will need a template horse, which you can make yourself or with the help of special computer programs.

The template is printed out, after which the stencil is cut out. It is superimposed on the prepared boards and outlined along the contour. Then you have to cut out the details. Direct cuts are made by saw, and figured - by electric jigsaw.

After this, the blanks must be sanded with sandpaper. Then the sidewalls of the structure are attached to the base and the back wall of the product with the help of furniture screws. At the final stage of work, the head and tail are glued to the horse.

Then the product is once again treated with sandpaper and painted. After a few hours, the shelf is ready for use.

Unusual design of the shelf from plywood. For its assembly, glue, nails or other fastening materials are not needed. Assembly of the shelf in working condition is carried out only due to the grooves made in the design of the shelf itself. Therefore, it is perfect for lovers often to move, or simply as a seasonal shelf, which can be quickly reached, collected and used, and then as easily dismantled and put in a pantry.

Materials and tools:
- sheet of plywood 6 mm thick
-laser machine
-file
-lac and paint
- a few bolts and nuts.
-metallic fasteners

Description of the manufacture of easily dismountable plywood shelf:

Step one. Choosing a design.
The author needed shelves for use in his temporary residence. Therefore, the shelves had to be cheap enough and easy to assemble and disassemble. Therefore, 6 mm plywood was chosen as the main material.
After the definition with the material, a small sketch was made in the CorelDraw program.

    (downloads: 65)

Step two. Cutting parts.

After creating a scheme for a laser machine. It was laid plywood and cut parts. In principle, the design of the shelf is quite simple and can be cut as well as with a conventional saw or electric jigsaw, so the presence of a laser cutting machine is not necessary when assembling a shelf of this design.

Step three. External processing of the product.

After the necessary details were received, the author proceeded to process them. To give a more pleasant look to the product, its parts were varnished. After that, the grooves for docking the shelves were additionally processed by the file, since there were problems with the assembly.

Step four. Assembling the shelf.
After the file has solved the problem of docking the grooves, the author began to collect the shelves. This did not require glue or nails. The entire structure is assembled and held at its own weight through the grooves made, while it is quite reliable and stable.

The only fixing elements that the author needed were a few metal corners and bolts with nuts, in order to fasten the shelf to the wall.

As a result, these regiments have turned out. The simplicity of construction, the lack of fasteners, resulting in an easy assembly and disassembly, all at a minimum price equal to several sheets of plywood.
