Construction and repair by own hands

Cooker hood installation. Selecting the location for the suction outlet. Drilling work

Not in vain to the word "kitchen" is often added the word "infernal". Steam, a boiling brew, hot oil are all attributes of cooking processes. And if you do not want to arrange a general cleaning for cleaning the stove and lockers near it very often, buy and install the hood. And how to install the hood in the kitchen correctly tells our instructions.

Everything has its turn

As if the designers did not try to distinguish themselves before each other, talking about the convenience of different systems, coming up with separate names for them, but in fact the hoods are of two kinds:

  • Exhausting;
  • Recirculation, or as they are also called air purifying.

In the first case, air and steam do not linger in the system, it is expelled from the room to the ventilation system and outwards.

In the second case, the same ingredients, having passed through the system of coal filters, return to the kitchen in the form of air free of fat and moisture. There is a process of return or recirculation of air.

Pros and cons of each system

An unequivocal answer to the question which of the systems is better is not. Each of them is good in its own way, but it also has drawbacks. Therefore, before deciding the question: how to install kitchen hoods, determine the type of hood.

About this a little more.

  1. According to the installation schemes, recirculation hood will certainly benefit. It does not require the installation of additional ducts for the air vent and everything that is attached to it.
  2. By deducing smells and steam here - the leadership of exhaust ventilation. The explanation for this is very simple - everything that gets into the system is immediately rendered irretrievably. In recirculating - the smell will go away, settle on the filters, but the excess moisture will remain.
  3. On the safety of heat, especially in winter, the palm tree will remain behind the recirculation hood.
  4. For economical use - better exhaust systems. They do not require the replacement of coal filters and, correspondingly, additional financial costs for maintenance.
  5. By noise level - the exhaust system works quietly, it does not need to expend its power on pushing the air flow through the grate.

The hood is not only an electrical installation, but also an element of design.

Note!
  To close the topic, I want to once again draw your attention to the design capabilities and solutions.
  The diverting system, as they say, is tied to the place (to the ventilation window), and the return system allows you to "register" your plate in any convenient place.

Some important technical characteristics

Before we decide how to properly install the hood in the kitchen, we offer a solution to an equally important question, how to correctly calculate the technical parameters of the hood, just for your kitchen.

And for its solution we take into account the following parameters:

  • Working surface dimensions;
  • Performance;
  • Noise level.

And now we'll cover each item in more detail.

  1. Working surface dimensions. Look at the following diagram.

The working surface of the exhaust unit can not be less than the surface area of the plate. More can be, less - neither, nor.

Note!
  The standard dimensions of the hoods are 60, 90 and 120 centimeters. And if the cooker in your kitchen has non-standard dimensions, then the number of exhaust systems can be increased.

  1. Performance. Performance is the specified volume of air that the system will drive through itself in a unit of time, in this case - per hour of operation.
      Selection of the hood is carried out according to the criteria of the cubature of the room with the use of the multiplicity factor. And now the same, but more understandable language.
      Each hood drives through a certain amount of air and in order to understand enough of this volume for your kitchen or not, multiply the volume of the room by a factor.
      The volume is calculated simply, remember the mathematics - the volume of the box. And the coefficients, we look at the table.

Note!
Here is an example of calculating the kitchen area 12 squares, height 3 meters, coefficient 12 = 12x3x12 = 432 m3 / h. And another important amendment is the coefficient of 1.3 - this is the correction for the length of the ventilation passages, what is called "so that with a guarantee".
  Total, 432x1.3 = 561.6 m3 / h. This means that we need such an extract for such kitchen parameters.

Note!
  In order to facilitate your calculations, we present a ready-made table, its use will make it much easier for you to choose the hood.

Kitchen ceiling, m
2,5 2,7 3,0 3,2 3,5 4,0
Kitchen area, m 2 6 235 255 285 300 330 375
7 275 300 330 350 385 440
8 315 340 375 400 440 500
9 350 380 425 450 495 565
10 395 425 470 500 550 625
11 430 465 515 550 605 690
12 468 510 565 600 655 750
13 510 550 610 650 710 815
14 550 595 660 700 765 875
15 590 635 705 750 820 940

Note!
  When you recalculate the numbers may not coincide by several units. As practice shows, the figures multiples of five are better remembered, for this purpose rounding was performed.

  1. And now about the noises. The most noisy in the exhaust system is the motor. And we, of course, need a low noise engine. Low-noise engines include engines with a level of this physical quantity up to 65 dB.

Extraction in a cut

We will not disassemble all the elements of the structure before the cog, and paint the variants of attaching them to each other.

This schematic model allows you to visually assess the features and comparative characteristics of the two, as well as look at the design before deciding how to install a hood in the kitchen.

  • aluminum grease filter - 1;
  • carbon filter (only in recirculation mode) - 2;
  • electric motor - 3;
  • hinges on the wall - 4;
  • anti-return valve - 5;
  • hose fastening hose - 6;
  • corrugated hose (only in the exhaust mode) - 7;
  • air outlet (only in recirculation mode) - 8.

Correct and just right

How to install a kitchen hood? Taking into account the distance from the plate to the working surface of the hood. At the same time, the indicators for electric and gas stoves differ from each other.

So the hood is located at a height above the plates: gas - no closer than 65 centimeters, electric - no closer than 50 centimeters.

As the final parameter for the plate is called the figure - 70 centimeters, while the type of plate is not significant.

Note!
  Wondering how to install a kitchen hood to be beautiful, and did not lose functionality, pay attention to the next figure.
  The upper limit can also be increased, i.e. the extractor can be located both at a meter height and a one and a half meter high, but.
  But increasing the distance from the plate to the hood twice, requires increasing the power of the system itself by 4 times.

We mount who is for

So, where do we start to solve the question, how is the cooker hood installed in the kitchen? And we will start to solve it with the electric supply of the product. The exhaust requires electric power, and, separate. So, with the electrical wiring and outlet identified, we proceed to the selection of tools.

We will need:

  • Screwdriver, drill with drills with carbide inserts;
  • Meters: tape measure, ruler, meter - that is;
  • Screwdriver, fasteners and consumables.
  • Draw the markings on the wall or ceiling using the level;
  • Using a drill with a drill (a suitable one), we drill the holes for the holders;

Note!
  Drywall can not permanently hold the structure without additional fasteners, such as a spoiler (shown in the photo) or moth.
  Therefore, this element is mandatory, for fixing the suspended products on gypsum board.

  • And then we really attach the corrugation.

Note!
  Sometimes, when solving a rhetorical question as to how to install the hood in the kitchen, another one pops up; It is better that the corrugation or special air ducts are made of heat-resistant plastic.
  We answer - the price of the question, the price of the product.

Note!
  And in the case of using a system of ventilation boxes, and in the case of using corrugations, narrowing, sharp knees, folds are not allowed.

  • The corrugation is fastened as follows: a panel with a socket corresponding to the corrugation of the diameter is inserted into the ventilation hole.
      Fastening of the panel is carried out in four places, with ordinary screws in dowels. The corrugation is inserted into the outlet of the hood on one side, and into the special projection of the ventilation grill on the other side. Fastening is carried out by clamps of the appropriate sizes.
  • And then, we put on a casing that can be in a single package with a hood, and can be ordered separately, or we can close the air duct with a system of suspended lockers, you can even make them yourself.

Part of the corrugation is hidden in the closet.

So, the question of how to install a hood for the kitchen, has already been resolved. And we have very little left.

Care is important

The hood body requires the same care as any metal surface. The metal grease filter is clogged from time to time and requires cleaning. Cleaning can be done in the dishwasher, however separately from the dishes with leftover food.

The dishes will not spoil, but small particles of food can clog the multilayer lattice of this filter, so be extremely careful when loading dishes and filter. The result may disappoint you.

Finally

You have read the material and hope that the question of how to install hoods for the kitchen, is fully covered by us. Viewing in the finale of our video will help you fully understand the topic, and even give qualified advice to your friends and acquaintances.

Install the hood with your own hands - the task is quite feasible for the home master even in the case when the design of the kitchen is completed. The main condition is reliable grounding and zeroing of the device (connection of metal parts to the "dead" neutral). In advance it is also necessary to determine the choice of a particular type of hood.

How to choose a hood

When purchasing a device, it is necessary to take into account the dimensions of the kitchen and the equipment for which it is intended. The width of the hood should not be less than the surface of the plate.

The second important point is the power of the device. For a small kitchen, you can purchase a device of medium power, and for large kitchens, powerful units are suitable.

Attention should be paid to the conformity of the design of the hood to the interior: it should harmoniously fit into it. With the current breadth of choice of models, this is not difficult.

In accordance with the installation options, the devices are divided into the following types:

  • Dome are the most powerful, look like an umbrella with a pipe from it.
  • Built-in - the exhaust pipe of this model is retracted into the cabinet, while the panel itself is pulled out during cooking. This option is an excellent solution for a small kitchen.
  • Flat - the exhaust pipe replaces the filter, so the device is more compact, but it has a small capacity.

Calculation of the height of the hood

The height is determined depending on the model chosen. The device is accompanied by an instruction that indicates the distance at which the device is to be mounted. As a rule, installation is carried out approximately in 65-90 cm from the plate. Exceeding the lower threshold is unacceptable, as it can lead to melting of the hood or its individual parts. As for the upper threshold, it can be chosen in accordance with its growth.

When using an electric plate, the threshold is lower (it is 65-70 cm), and in the case of a gas cooker the threshold is higher - from 75 to 90 cm.

Dome hood options and installation process

Instruments of the dome type are:

  • Wall (fireplace) - their fastening is made on the wall surface. The device is reminiscent of ventilation systems designed for fireplaces.
  • Angular - used in rare cases, with the location of the plate in the corner.
  • Island - their installation is suitable for large kitchens, in particular - in dining rooms, where the stove is located in the center of the kitchen. Such hoods are fixed directly to the ceiling.

The material for making hoods in most cases is stainless or enameled steel, sometimes there are models made of plastic or wood. Dome hoods work in different modes. When installing the air duct that leaves the street or in the ventilation system, the function of the device is to remove air from the room.

  • In order to install the dome hood, it is necessary to bring the corrugation to the ventilation system of the house and to connect to the power supply. Sometimes there is a need to increase the wiring or corrugation.
  • If you independently conduct work before it starts, you need to finish the kitchen equipment with furniture. Then you can go to the layout of the device with the recommended height.
  • To fix the hood, it is necessary to hollow out or drill holes for dowels. Bolts are fastened to them on bolts. They put on the base of the hood.
  • Special extraction hood is connected to the air duct corrugation with observance of the maximum tightness.
  • The device is checked for operability, after which the upper casing is put on.

Installing the Embedded Model

Installation of the built-in hood is carried out inside the kitchen cupboard. It is also possible to install the exhaust panel on the withdrawable mechanism, making the device completely hidden, but this work requires certain skills and some professional training.

The mounting option without push-pull-out is more simplistic. To implement it, you need to do the following:

  • First of all, you need to assemble a cabinet in which the hood will be located. It is possible to use the existing one, although it will have to be rebuilt a little. When manufacturing and installing the cabinet, it is necessary to take into account the dimensions of the kitchen and the level of the location of the hood.
  • The bottom of the planned locker rises to the height of the device itself. In the future, the hood should be attached to this bottom. A strong fastening of the side walls to the lid of the locker is made, the bottom is fastened with the help of Euro screws.
  • Above is a slot for the duct. You can use a hacksaw or a jigsaw for this.
  • The hood is fixed. The bottom of the locker must be removed and transferred to its surface a pattern of holes that are required for the corrugation and fixing bolts.
  • After drilling and cutting holes, the body is attached to the bottom. Then it is necessary to firmly fix the entire structure and install it in its original place.
  • The last step is pulling the air duct and sealing it tightly. The cable is pulled to a pre-prepared outlet, after which the device can be tested.

In a similar way, the telescopic hood is installed: in fact, it is the same embedded model, which has several design features (they do not apply to installation).

How to install a flat hood

Flat (hanging) models, as a rule, do not have an air duct. They are equipped with a filter for air purification. Any kind of extractor can be started in the mode of recirculation (air purification with the help of built-in filter) or in the mode of air outlet to the street. Filters must be changed at least twice a year.

The process of mounting the exhaust model is not difficult. The device has a special fixation - it remains only to transfer the marks to the surface of the wall. The distance between them must correspond to the holes on the mount. Having drilled the wall, it is necessary to hammer in the dowels and fix the canopies with a screwdriver or a screwdriver. The hood is attached to them, after which the connection to the network is made.

Installation of the corrugated hood

  • In the case of the location of the vent hole above the plate, its connection with the hood is carried out using a small adapter. However, in many cases they are separated by a large distance. In this case, it is necessary to mount a special duct for the hood, which is a smooth plastic pipe or corrugated plastic or aluminum.
  • When choosing a smooth round or square tube, additional acquisition of the connecting legs is required to bypass the corners. In addition, you need two adapters: one is used for mounting on the hood, the second for the vent.
  • Joints and joints are carefully spread with a sealant.
  • If the air duct can be hidden in a wall cabinet, it is recommended to use a corrugation: it will cost less, and it is much easier to mount it. In this case, there is no need to use adapters: corrugation perfectly rounds corners.
  • Prior to the installation, the corrugation should be stretched as much as possible: this will significantly reduce the noise produced during the operation of the hood.
  • When choosing the diameter of the pipe, it is necessary to be guided by the parameters of the exhaust outlet of the extractor.
  • Fixation of the corrugation on the exhaust pipe is carried out with the help of a clamp, and on the vent hole - using a special grate.

As the air accumulates over time in the air, which prevents the free passage of air, it must be cleaned at least twice a year or replaced with a new one.

Connection to ventilation

In any house there is a system of natural ventilation, to which it is possible to connect the kitchen hood.

Work on the connection is simple. It will require a special shield, equipped with a hole for fixing the pipe, which is fixed in place of the grille ventilation vent.

The problem can be as follows: in old multi-storey houses there is no provision for the installation of exhaust devices. For this reason, there are no individual ventilation channels: there is one common channel. When connecting the hoods in the ventilation system, the air pressure changes. As a result, smells are drawn into the ventilation holes of neighboring apartments or (with the installation of the exhaust device and the check valve), the devices compete in power. In such cases, there are several solutions:

  • A radical solution is the change of housing. In new buildings there are individual ventilation channels.
  • You can resort to the help of a ventilation specialist who will evaluate the state of ventilation and give advice on choosing a model that can be installed without harming neighbors. If necessary, the ventilator will clean the ducts of the mine.
  • The perfect solution is to purchase a recycling unit.
  • It is also possible to create an individual ventilation system, in which a ventilation opening or a small window leading to the street is arranged. A punch is used for work. It is necessary to calculate the course of the air duct in the kitchen and determine the most suitable place. The finished window is closed with a lattice shield. Gofra is displayed in it.

Selecting the location for the suction outlet

The preparation of a new outlet for extraction must be carried out before the installation of the device. When choosing an outlet, it is necessary to take into account that most models of exhaust devices are equipped with three-wire wires.

It is forbidden to install the outlet near the sink and near the stove. The best option is to install it above the hanging cabinets - approximately at a height of 2 meters. The outlet should be moved to the left or right of the center of the hood. If you select a more open location, you can zadekorirovat outlet using a special box. Do not hide it behind bulky appliances or hanging cabinets.

Sometimes in homes there are voltage swings, as a result of which the exhaust motor may burn out or be damaged to some extent. To prevent this, ground the outlet.

Plyushkin   For kitchen

After the purchase of kitchen hoods the question arises of its installation. Installing the hood can be done by yourself or using the services of professional installation wizards.

It is unambiguous to say which option is preferable, since everything depends on desires and skills.

The task is not very difficult, and if you have the time, desire and certain skills in working with tools, then you can do without the master.

Tools required for work

  • 1. Screwdriver (drill with a perforator - depending on the density of the walls)
  • 2. Screws and dowels
  • 3. Hacksaw
  • 4. Roulette and level
  • 5. Pencil for marking

This is the minimum that you need to install any type of hood, regardless of the way it is attached and the work system. The need for additional tools and supplies is described below.

What you need to know and do before installing

1. The hood is mounted after the kitchen furniture is assembled or together with it (in cases with the built-in model). However, the place under it must be planned and carefully measured out.

2. Before installation, be sure to check for serviceability. After making sure that it works properly, you can proceed with the installation. Otherwise, you risk killing boxes, scrolling holes in the walls, doing other work and eventually installing a technique that will not work.

3. Ensure that the outlet is in the right place. The socket must be grounded and used only to connect one hood. Typically, the electrical stretches have relatively short electrical cables, and the use of extension cords is unacceptable, since it can be dangerous.

Ideally, the outlet will be slightly higher than the hood itself. This will, first, avoid kink of the cable, and secondly, it will be more aesthetically pleasing from the visual point of view, since the hanging wires are unattractive. In addition, it is advisable to connect the hood to the outlet through a protective shutdown device that will help avoid short circuits and overloads.

4. Determine the height at which the hood will be installed. Manufacturers usually specify the recommended distance from the plate to the exhaust structure in the instructions. Minimally it is about 60 cm for electric cookers and 70 cm for installation of the hood above the gas stove.

It is dangerous to install it below in connection with the possibility of ignition and damage to the device. Very high installation is also not recommended, as this reduces the efficiency of its operation. Most correctly, it will be guided by specific manufacturer recommendations for individual models.

Installation diagram

The drawing of the hood is usually described in the manufacturer's instructions for the product. It is a general diagram of the correct location of the apparatus above the plate, as well as its connection to the electrical network and the ventilation system.

If you install it yourself, this scheme should be used, but it should be remembered that it does not take into account the small moments and does not always give answers to questions that may arise during installation of the structure.

Such schemes usually do not specify the number of required supplies, do not specify the installation of a valve that prevents the return of air from ventilation, etc. To a greater extent, the scheme will be useful to those who have already encountered the installation of hoods for the kitchen. For beginners, more detailed instructions are needed.

Step-by-step instruction

We first note that the installation of different models of hoods differs from each other.

Standard flat hood

It is easiest to install a standard recirculation hood, which does not require connection to ventilation.

In this case, you just need to fix it on the wall above the stove.

To do this you need:

  • 1. Using a level and a roulette, make a marking on the wall, that is, mark the line on which the hood will be located, and also mark the places for the holes, which must coincide with the distance between the attachments on the hood.
  • 2. Using a drill, drill the holes in which to insert the dowels
  • 3. Screw the sheds using a screwdriver.
  • 4. Secure the hoods to the hood, connect it to the mains

The installation of the kitchen hood is over.

Dome models are mounted directly to the wall with dowels and screws.

Also, dome types usually have telescopic tubes, due to which it is possible to vary the height of the entire structure.

Given this, the installation is carried out as follows:

1. Layout on the wall. It is more complicated than in the case of flat hoods and requires more careful measurements.

The result should be approximately the following, where AB is the height, and C, D and E are the distances between the fixing holes. We must not forget about the center line, so that all the holes in the wall are symmetrical.

2. Drill the holes in the markup

3. Drive in dowels, fasten the construction to the screws

Hood connection with ventilation system

Here, additional tools and materials mentioned above will be needed.

Firstly, the corrugation by means of which a bypass channel is made and the hood is connected to the ventilation system. The corrugation can be plastic or aluminum.

Aluminum is sold already cut pieces, so you may need to make joints if the ventilation hatch is located on the opposite wall from the plate.

This is uncomfortable and unreliable, so it's better to choose a plastic corrugation that is sold in any length.

If possible, a bypass channel should be made so that the bends are at a minimum. Each bend reduces the performance of the hood.

In addition to corrugation, you can use round or rectangular boxes. Work with them more, but they look aesthetic. All joints of corrugations or boxes, as well as other joints and slots, must be glued with a sealant. Proper connection of the hood to the ventilation will ensure that all contaminated air goes into the ventilation.

We will separately dwell on the fact that during the laying of the vent channel it may be necessary to conduct it through furniture. This primarily applies to a decorative hanging drawer above the stove in cases with flat hoods.

These boxes are usually arranged in such a way that they can "hide" the pipe, but for this it will be necessary to saw holes in them. This can be done with a hacksaw or jig saw.

Installation of hoods by professionals

In many cases, the appeal to professional installers will be the only true solutions.

From the correct installation depends on how effective its work will be. At the same time the price for the professional installation of the kitchen hood is quite acceptable, so contacting the installation service, you will get a quality installation with a guarantee, save time and effort.

Modern customers are pretty picky. They are no longer satisfied with the simple but functional equipment of the kitchen. They strive to achieve the greatest possible comfort and comfort, especially in the cooking process. People do not want to put up with unpleasant odors, as a result of this the hood has become an integral attribute of modern cuisine. Increasingly popular in recent years began to acquire hanging exhaust. Let's see why they buy it.

The principle of the suspended hood is built on.  Let us consider in more detail

  • The connected device takes dirty air and cleans it with filters. After this, the purified gas is supplied through the duct back to the room.
  • Suspension hood, designed for the kitchen, is most often completed with a grease-collecting circuit, which produces the main air purification. Models with a lower cost are used for this purpose acrylic filter, which eventually becomes worthless. More technological devices are equipped with aluminum filters. They do not require a permanent replacement, and easily restore their performance after washing with a special tool.

Aluminum filter

  • The outboard kitchen hood was named so because of the mounting method. It is installed on the wall, often in the space between the ceiling and the kitchen cupboard. This allows you to save space, and attach the device so that it does not interfere with the kitchen.
  •   rather simple. It is enough to determine the best place in the kitchen and make sure that the outlet of the duct is not blocked by furniture. No need to apply extra effort. For effective operation, it is sufficient to place the hood parallel  above the hob and ensure connection to the mains.
  • The new models can be equipped with either one or two motors. This allows you to control performance  and the noise level produced by the instrument.

The scheme of installation of a plastic air line

Positive features

These non-eye-catching household appliances have many positive points.

  1. For example, suspended hood is considered the most economical device  of a similar class. It will not deal a serious blow to your budget, but it will do its job well.
  2. Unquestionable advantage experts believe easy installation suspended hood. As mentioned above, the installation process does not require you to have special technical knowledge or additional equipment. This device is fixed elementary: all you need is a good drill, mounting anchors and a few minutes of work.
  3.   work very little noise. With the intensive operation of a single-engine device, the overall noise will be 40-45 dB. Units with a double motor are noisier, but this increase is insignificant.
  4. New devices, in comparison with previous models, are equipped with reusable filtration system. Not needing constant replacement and perfectly cleansing the air of particles of fat, child, excess moisture and other coarse particles. Many models can be strengthened for finer processing of air masses.

Disadvantages of the model

Like other household devices, for this drawing are characteristic of some unpleasant moments.

  1. Absolutely not suitable for cleaning air in large rooms. Too weak motor  It is not able to work efficiently in a room with an area exceeding 30 cubic meters.
  2. Suspension hoods have a compact and pleasant design, but fancy design solutions still can not offer.
  3. The need for periodic cleaning or replacing filters  can cause some inconvenience. The presence of coal or acrylic filters will require regular financial costs.

How to install the hood correctly? Currently, many housewives in the kitchen are installing a hood over the stove. The extract is designed to drain hot air and various vapors that form during cooking.  Thanks to the installation of the hood, it will not be necessary to frequently clean the kitchen, wipe the walls and furniture surrounding the stove from the vapors that are deposited on them, which contain the remains of oil, sauces and other food products.

Comparison of the work of extractors of two types: a - exhaust, b - recirculation.

What are the types of hoods?

Hoods in the kitchen can be of the following types:

  • exhaust;
  • recycling.

In exhaust systems, hot air and steam from boiling products are not retained in the device. They leave the kitchen in the ventilation system and are taken to the street. In the recirculation exhaust, the vapors pass through a special filter system and exit from the device directly to the kitchen in the form of purified air. In such devices, air masses are recirculated.

Advantages of the exhaust system:

  1. Displays hot fumes and all smells from the room to the street.
  2. Does not require additional costs for maintenance, replacement of filters.
  3. He removes the heated fumes from the kitchen, thereby ensuring a comfortable temperature in the room.
  4. Removes excess moisture from the room.
  5. When working, it does not create noise.

Disadvantages:

  1. Requires installation of an additional air vent system.
  2. When installing the system, it is necessary to provide access to the window for the discharge of hot air, that is, the hood should be placed close to the window.

Advantages of the recirculation system:

  1. Easy to install the device.
  2. Does not require the installation of an air vent system.
  3. It can be installed anywhere in the room, regardless of proximity to the window.

Disadvantages:

  1. When working, creates noise.
  2. Does not remove excess moisture.
  3. It is necessary to periodically replace filters, which increases financial costs for maintenance.

Selection of hood for a specific room

First of all, it is necessary to calculate the technical characteristics of the exhaust system for a certain room. The calculation takes into account the following values:

  • the size of the working surface of the device;
  • system performance;
  • noise level.

The size of the working surface of the hood should be no less than the surface area of the gas cooker.

Usually the exhaust system has standard dimensions corresponding to the dimensions of the standard plate. Extracts are produced with dimensions of 60x60 cm, 90x90 cm and 120x120 cm.

The capacity of the unit is a certain amount of air that passes through the device in an hour. Extraction is selected depending on the area of the kitchen.

The exhaust device drives a certain volume of air. To determine if this volume is sufficient for a given kitchen, you need to multiply the volume of the kitchen premise by the coefficient of air exchange multiplicity. For the kitchen, according to building codes, the coefficient is 12.

If the kitchen area is 12 m 2, and the height is 3 m, then the volume of the kitchen needs to be multiplied by a factor of 12, then you get:

12x3x12 = 432 m 3 / h. Then it is necessary to take into account the coefficient 1.3, which is a correction for the lengths of the ventilation passages.

Then 432x1.3 = 562 m 3 / h. We determined the performance of the hood, which must be installed specifically for this particular room.

In the kitchen it is desirable to install a hood that does not create much noise. The motor of the device creates a certain sound during its operation. The lowest noise devices include engines with a noise level of less than 65 dB.

Materials and tools:

  • the extractor unit;
  • separate outlet;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • roulette;
  • screwdriver;
  • consumables;
  • fastening.

The design of the hood consists of an aluminum fat filter, an electric motor, an anti-return valve, a corrugated hose, and an air outlet.

The hood is installed at a distance of at least 70 cm from the plate.

A separate electrical supply must be provided for the hood.

Therefore, it is necessary to make a separate outlet for the unit.

This option of securing the hood is provided in the plasterboard.

How to fix the hood? First of all, it is necessary to make a marking for attaching the hood to the wall or ceiling. To perform markup use the building level. Then it is necessary to make holes for the holders on which the device will be installed with a drill with a winning drill.

Drywall can not withstand the weight of the unit for a long time without additional fasteners. Therefore, spoilers are provided as additional fasteners. They are mandatory when installing the exhaust unit on drywall.

Then it is necessary to install the corrugation. Sometimes, when you yourself install the hood in the kitchen, the question arises: what is better to use corrugated or special air outlets made of plastic that has high strength and resistance to high temperatures? The difference is in the cost of products.

In the case of mounting corrugations and using special air outlets, strong bends, sharp angles or narrowing of the air vent system are not allowed.

Mounting the corrugations is carried out in the following order. First insert the panel with the socket into the ventilation hole. The panel socket must correspond to the diameter of the corrugation. Then fasten the panel. Fasteners are carried out in 4 places with the help of dowels. The dowels are installed with screws.

After this, the corrugation is set to the outlet of the hood on one side and to a special projection of the ventilation grill on the other side.

Then fasten with clamps. Clamps collect the required sizes. After that, install the casing, which is included in the exhaust kit. If the hood is not included in the hood, it must be ordered separately.

It is also possible to order an air outlet with a system of suspended cabinets. Sometimes these lockers perform on their own. Part of the corrugation should be in the locker. This completes the installation of the exhaust system for the kitchen. The unit is ready for use.

Before you start using the hood, you need to check how it works. To do this, you need to turn on the device for testing, while on the gas stove you can put a mug with boiling water. If the steam outlet is correct, then the unit can be started.
