What watches do politicians wear? What watches are worn by Medvedev, Luzhkov, Abramovich, Vekselberg, George Bush, Putin, Gref, Fradkov, Ernst, Shokhin and many others. Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister

A wristwatch is perhaps one of the few accessories that emphasizes the individuality of the person who wears it. For Russian officials, politicians and heads of state-owned companies, this is also a way to demonstrate their worth. RBC studied watch models in the hands of civil servants, parliamentarians and top managers of state-owned enterprises and presents the results of its research.

Lange & Sohne, the recommended retail price of the model released in 2010 was 5.7 million. These watches at current prices are at least three times more expensive than the watch he had in 2009 - a classic model of the same brand, but the Grand Lange series with a black dial. As indicated in the manufacturer's response to RBC's request, the watch is made of a new gold alloy, “which has previously unattainable hardness.” Yakunin’s model has a function to stop the second hand, write employees of A. Lange & Sohne

Dmitry Livanov’s model is called “The Awakening of the Tsar” or, as it is informally called, “The Tsar”. It was precisely this watch that, with the help of Photoshop, “disappeared” from the hand of Patriarch Kirill in one of his photographs. The unerased reflection of the watch on the table surface helped to detect the fake, and the scandal that erupted because of this forced the culprits to apologize and return the original image.

Nikolai Valuev, State Duma deputy

Watch brand and model: Graham Grand Silverstone Luffield

Country of Origin: Switzerland

Price: $17.5 thousand

Family income in 2014:RUB 39.7 million ($1 million at the average rate for 2014)

Country of Origin: Switzerland

Price: less $12 thousand

Family income in 2014: 7.6 million rubles.($198 thousand at the average rate for 2014)

According to experts, this is an old model from the 90s; it has an unusual shape for this manufacturer - Patek Philippe watches are usually produced in a round case. “Used ones would now cost about $10-12 thousand,” estimates Dmitry Krylov from Chasovshchik.ru. This is a very conservative model, the design is not modern, but they are discreet and go well with a suit, he adds

Putin, taken aback, took the watch off his hand and gave it to the worker. It was Blancpain Leman Aqualung. “I recently gave exactly the same ones to one boy, the son of a shepherd in Tuva,” Kommersant reports the president’s words. - And I bought it again. I really like them". Now the president has another model of the same brand. It also appeared in watches from other manufacturers - Patek Philippe, IWC

When decorating the hull, genuine metal from the famous sunken ocean liner Titanic was used. According to representative Alexander Sidyakin, the deputy chose the watch himself, relying on his taste. According to Sidyakin, a watch should match the style of a business person, just like a tie. He also financed this purchase himself. “This is not the deputy’s only watch. All of them cost up to $10 thousand: within the amount that can be afforded,” explained Sidyakin’s representative

Elvira Nabiullina, Chairman of the Central Bank

Watch brand and model: Dubey & Schaldenbrand, model could not be determined

Country of Origin: Switzerland

Price: less $10 thousand

Family income in 2014: 66 million rub. ($1.7 million at the average rate for 2014)

The exact model could not be determined. “Dubey & Schaldenbrand is not such an interesting brand that all the models were captured somewhere. Perhaps the owner liked the watch visually, but most likely it was a gift. This is not a particularly prestigious brand, not very recognizable, so it’s unlikely that she would have bought them herself,” suggests Dmitry Krylov

Vyacheslav Volodin, first deputy head of the presidential administration

Watch brand and model: Glashütte, Original Classic Pilots Chrono Navigator Date

Country of Origin: Germany

Price: less $10 thousand

Family income in 2014: 62.9 million rubles. ($1.64 million at the average rate for 2014)

German Gref, President of Sberbank

Country of Origin: Switzerland

Price: $7.5 thousand(current value)

Family income in 2014: RUB 478 million ($12.4 million at the average rate for 2014)

Igor Shuvalov has not changed the watch model he wore in 2009. Then it cost, according to Vedomosti, €4.2 thousand. “This is a sports model, wearing it with a suit is considered bad manners,” comments Dmitry Krylov. It was not possible to obtain comments from the official at the time of publication of the material.

Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development

Watch brand and model: Rolex, GMT-Master II

Country of Origin: Switzerland

Price: $8.3 thousand

Personal income in 2014: 14.5 million rubles. ($378 thousand at the average rate for 2014)

Due to the contrasting colors, the model received the unofficial name “Batman”, or “Black Knight”. “It’s practically impossible to get a model for free sale - Rolex artificially creates a shortage; you have to wait two months for it,” says Dmitry Krylov from Chasovshchik.ru. “Given Maxim Stanislavovich’s achievements in business before joining the civil service, his presence in the photo gallery on this topic is not entirely correct,” notes Maxim Liksutov’s representative. — He bought the watch himself, with his own money. They are, of course, not the only ones."

Alexander Khinshtein, State Duma deputy

Watch brand and model: Longines, model could not be determined

Country of Origin: Switzerland

Price: $1.5 thousand

Family income in 2014: RUB 11.8 million ($307 thousand at the average rate for 2014)

The watch with a white gold case, owned by Sergei Naryshkin, was produced at a Russian factory. “This brand is not highly valued in the market and this watch will not be a good investment. Their value immediately drops by 2-3 times after purchase, but watches from European manufactures, although they do not increase in price, at least do not fall so much,” says Sergei Legeyda

Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister

Watch brand and model: Apple, Apple Watch Sport

Country of Origin: China

Price: more $350

Family income in 2014:8 million rub. ($208 thousand at the average rate for 2014)

Watch brand and model:"Rocket", "Automatic"

Country of Origin: Russia

Price: less $0.7 thousand

Family income in 2014:RUB 55.5 million ($1.4 million at the average rate for 2014)

What does Abramovich and I have in common? With the one who is Roman, and not with the one who is Boris? We both prefer electronic watches with a digital display. The year before last I wrote a post where I compared . I didn’t know how much Abramovich’s watch cost, but I knew that I bought mine for 20 rubles. back in the dashing 90s. Let me remind you what they looked like:

It turns out that Abramovich’s watches are of interest not only to me. Friend mprohorova I pointed to more recent photos of Roman Arkadyevich’s watch:

And she reports that this is a watch for $150 (Polar M61) and is surprised that it is not a Rolex for hundreds of thousands. In my opinion, they are the same as they were the year before last.

dorim : Well, here’s the ambush... I was once very closely involved in Formula 1 and remembered one interesting story. Well, whether it’s true or not is still not known for certain, however, they say it’s true. In any case, the truth of the story does not change the essence of the matter :)

So, at the very first Malaysian Grand Prix there was information that the then owner of one of the Jordan Grand Prix teams, Eddie Jordan, visited a local flea market and bought a watch there - a fake Rolex for $50.

To the correspondent's question: Is this true? - Eddie, being a very open person, answered yes! And when he was asked: But how is it possible, you and a fake watch? - Eddie, continuing to be an open person, replied that on the hand of a student or a hard worker, such a watch, even if it is real, will still be mistaken by others for a fake. And on his, Jordan’s hand, even a low-grade fake will still be perceived as a Rolex. Well, that’s why there’s no reason for him to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a watch.

Here too, it seems, is a similar case. It’s still Abramovich, no matter what kind of watch he wears. People like me, poor people, need to somehow try to raise their status among those around them, with a car, a hut, a watch or bots. Why does he need it?

Here are my changes. My favorite watch with the proud name Asahi has finally retired after 20 years of service. No, they still show the time, but the plastic case is worn out. I had to buy new ones. I haven’t found a watch for 20 rubles anymore, and not because they have become more expensive, but they simply don’t sell them in Volgograd, well, they don’t exist and that’s it. What attracted me to Asahi was the simplicity of the design and the sparse information on the display, where only the time was displayed in large numbers (which is important for a tourist). I had to buy it in Hong Kong, half a planet away. No, I have a Rolex:

,
the fake one, of course, was picked up on the road. One of the advantages of a bicycle as transport: the road is close, you find many interesting things. What I couldn’t find, especially in Western Europe: even a tent with a sleeping bag. The toad didn’t allow me to throw it away, so I carried two tents and two sleeping bags on the trunk. And money - without counting. But I digress. Of course, I wouldn’t wear a Rolex, even if they paid me extra, it’s heavy, there’s too much yellow metal, and on a rough road it can even tear the skin off your hand. In general, I bought myself a new watch through Ebay for three American rubles:

Very pleased so far

Already at the beginning of 2016, it became clear that the Apple Watch would conquer the mass watch market. Then they were the first Swiss manufacturers in terms of sales volume.

Today, smart watches have become commonplace. They stopped attracting attention, and many simply abandoned them.

We decided to see what kind of watches the powers that be use, and chose the most interesting examples in the hands of domestic politicians. Many of them we were really surprised.

Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic

Watch: GreubelForsey, Tourbillon 24 Seconds Contemporain

Price:≈16 million rubles.

Platinum watch with alligator leather strap. They were released in a limited edition of 33 pieces back in 2012, but collectors continue to chase them even today.

Experts call this watch one of the most beautiful from the manufacturer, and GreubelForsey notes that it spent the most time on the incredible shade of blue on the dial, which shimmers at an angle.

The dial is made of metal and specially painted with high precision tools. It is impossible to repeat this without special equipment.

The watch has a built-in tourbillon, which consists of 88 parts. And the total number of components in the mechanism of this accessory is 267.

Watch: ToyWatch, Fluo Yellow Sunshine

Price:≈5 thousand rubles.

The cheapest and at the same time the brightest watches in the selection, which are made of yellow plastic.

ToyWatch is a young Italian brand that was founded in 2006. It targets European youth and those who are not even 20 at heart.

The well-known Russian politician successfully complemented her jacket with the same color and proved that you can be stylish not only in Chanel, but also in the regular mass market.

There are no fancy features in the watch mechanism. They are quartz and can show the date.

Dmitry Peskov, presidential press secretary

Watch: Richard Mille, RM 52-01

Price:≈35 million rubles.

In 2015, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov married Olympic champion Tatyana Navka. According to rumors, it was she who gave him this brutal watch with a skull on the dial.

Richard Mille RM 52-01 is the second model in the Swiss brand's skull series, which was launched back in 2012. It has become a landmark for the manufacturer, which continues to be associated with daring and brutal design.

The skull on the dial of the most expensive watch in the selection is made of red gold, the case is made of platinum, titanium and ceramics. The parts are connected to each other using screws. The watch mechanism uses a tourbillon, which guarantees precision.

The watch mechanism is connected to the case using four bridges, which are made in the form of bones attached to the skull.

Nikolai Valuev, State Duma deputy

Watch: Graham, Grand Silverstone Luffield

Price:≈1 million rub.

The manufacturer's creation of the Graham Grand Silverstone Luffield was inspired by high-speed racing. This is even evidenced by the name of the model, which is borrowed from one of the most difficult turns of the famous Silverstone track.

The watch is massive - just to match the hand of Nikolai Valuev, a former boxer weighing more than 140 kilograms and taller than 2 meters and 10 centimeters.

The watch strap is made of rubber and has a characteristic pattern that follows the tread of a racing car.

The watch cannot be called both sports and classic. They seem to have been created for a professional boxer who has swapped the ring for the Duma meeting room.

Sergei Shoigu, Minister of Defense

Watch: Breitling, Emergency Mission

Price:≈160 thousand rubles.

The Minister of Defense chose the most practical, reliable and functional watches in this selection. They have a complex titanium case that protects them from shocks and falls.

The watch is very accurate, it can measure time down to the hundredth of a second. But this is not the most interesting thing about them.

Breitling Emergency Mission is the world's first watch with a built-in dual-frequency locator beacon. With it, the owner can send a distress signal, and he can be detected within 350 kilometers.

The manufacturer positions the watch for adventurers, emphasizing that the chance of surviving even in the most difficult situations increases significantly.

Watch: Piaget, G0A35130

Price:≈1.5 million rubles.

Vladislav Surkov wears an ultra-compact Swiss watch, the case of which is made of white gold. They have one of the thinnest mechanisms - only 2.35 millimeters.

The dial and back of the watch are covered with sapphire crystal, which in the latter case opens the door to their inner world and reveals a rotor made of rose gold.

This is an accessory that is recognized by watchmaking experts. He once again emphasizes the possibility of developing wrist devices not only in a smart, but also in a classical mechanical direction.

The State Counselor is called the standard of style in Russian politics, and such watches definitely highlight it in no small part.

Watch: Romain Jerome, Titanic-DNA

Price:≈570 thousand rubles.

The bezel of this watch was made using metal from the ocean liner Titanic, the same one that sank in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg.

Alexander Sidyakin is sure that a watch should correspond to the style and status of the owner. For example, these fit perfectly under a business suit, which he hardly takes off lately.

The watch case uses stainless steel and ceramics; they look quite ascetic, but with them the owner constantly carries with him a piece of history.

The watch strap is made of high-quality rubber, and its series is limited to a couple of thousand copies.

Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister

Watch:"Rocket", "Automatic"

Price:≈40 thousand rubles.

In this case, Arkady Dvorkovich gave preference to a watch made in Russia - “Raketa Avtomat”. Their manufacturer is one of the oldest manufactories “Petrodvorets Watch Factory”.

The former production director of Rolex, Jean-Claude Quesne, took part in the development of the unique mechanism used in the watch. And in all respects it is in no way inferior to Swiss brands.

In general, “Raketa” has been loved in Russia for a very long time - since the 80s. Then, during a trip to Italy, journalists asked Mikhail Gorbachev what Perestroika meant for his country.

Then he showed a watch of this brand, pointed to 0 instead of 12 and emphasized that after it Russia started life all over again. The company retained the traditional numbers on the dial for modern models.

Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government

Watch: Apple Watch

Price:≈25 thousand rubles.

Dmitry Medvedev is an ardent watch fan, so his collection contains both smart and mechanical watches for all occasions. However, it is the Apple Watch that appears most often on his hand.

He got Apple watches in 2015 - then they were not yet officially sold in Russia, and he became almost the first politician who was able to try them.

It's difficult to determine from the photos which particular Apple Watch model appears on his hand, but we assume that he successfully switched to Series 3 at the start of sales.

The Prime Minister prefers the model in Space Gray color and buys the most affordable aluminum versions of the watch. He perceives them not as an item of luxury or status, but as a convenient gadget for every day. That's what they are.

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia

Among the modern business elite and political figures, Roman Abramovich enjoys authority and attention from the public, who notice any detail in the appearance of a celebrity person: from a suit to a watch. Impeccable style, love for high-quality accessories, subtle taste in creating a harmonious image - all this distinguishes representatives of the secular Olympus. Relatively recently, the regular watch on Roman Abramovich’s wrist was replaced by a Polar heart rate monitor. Although chronometers from this brand are also present in his collection of functional accessories.

Roman Abramovich's watch

A large selection of models of chronometers and sports equipment in the Polar product catalog allows you to choose an accessory in accordance with your individual ideas about style, beauty and functionality. Some buyers choose Polar watches like Roman Abramovich's, not only in an effort to resemble a famous person, but also trusting his taste in choosing truly sophisticated and practical details of the image. We also offer prompt delivery of selected goods in Moscow and regions of the Russian Federation.

We are talking about five famous compatriots who are unlikely to be able to walk their prestigious watches in Manhattan in the near future

In early April, the United States published a sanctions list that included 24 Russian businessmen and high-ranking officials. Restrictive measures are introduced against them under the Countering America’s Adversaries through Sanctions Act. “Watch Alphabet” selected five people on the US Treasury blacklist and guessed what kind of watches they wear.

Oleg Deripaska - President of the En+ group of companies

US sanctions dealt the heaviest blow to businessman Oleg Deripaska. He is the owner of the En+ conglomerate, which, in turn, owns a significant stake in Rusal and Norilsk Nickel. These companies are considered one of the world's largest metal producers.

Since the introduction of sanctions, Deripaska's fortune has already decreased by more than $1.3 billion (before Washington's measures, Forbes estimated his fortune at $6.7 billion). However, the businessman’s rather large income did not influence his choice of watch - he prefers the electronic Polar M61.

Price from available sources: Polar M61 - $100.

Viktor Vekselberg - President of the Skolkovo Foundation

The assets of billionaire Viktor Vekselberg have also suffered: the Renova group of companies is forced to give up its shares in the Swiss engineering company Sulzer in order to save it from Washington’s sanctions.

It is unknown how Washington's measures will affect Vekselberg's fortune, but so far Forbes estimates it at $14.4 billion. With such an income, it is logical that the billionaire appears in front of the cameras, in all likelihood, wearing a premium watch equipped with an automatic watch.

Price from available sources: Vacheron Constantin Royal Eagle Chronograph - no longer in new condition - about $13,500, and Patek Philippe Grand Complications Silver Dial 18K - $160 thousand.

Andrey Kostin - head of VTB Bank

After VTB President and Chairman of the Board Andrei Kostin was included in the blacklist of the US Treasury, the bank's shares fell by 10%.

What impact such actions by Washington had on Kostin’s personal finances is unknown, just as there is no exact data on his income over the past few years. But, apparently, he can afford a Vintage 1945 XXL watch (option with Arabic numerals) with a hand date display, power reserve indicator and small seconds sub-disc.

The price of a Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 XXL - no longer in new condition - could be $17,000.

Alexey Miller - head of Gazprom

Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexey Miller reacted positively to his inclusion in the sanctions list:

Having not been included in the first list of sanctions, there were even some doubts - maybe something was wrong? But no, they finally turned it on. This means we are doing everything right.

There is no information yet about the impact of sanctions on the Gazprom corporation and on Miller in particular.

Most likely, the head of the board of the gas monopoly will be able to afford to buy high-end chronometric products like the Breguet Tourbillon Automatic Power and Fred for a long time (from available sources we can conclude that the price of this model varies from 8,500 to 9,700 dollars).

Sergei Fursenko - President of the Zenit football club

The sanctions list also includes people directly related to the state apparatus. Sergei Fursenko, who has been a member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Education and Sports since 2012, was previously, in the 2000s, the general director of Lentransgaz LLC (a subsidiary of Gazprom OJSC).
