Pathfinder overall dimensions. Dimensions and Dimensions of Nissan Pathfinder. Prices depending on configurations

This large 7-seater has a frame body structure, all-wheel drive and a high seating position with a clearance of 22.8 cm. A powerful 2.5 or 3 liter diesel engine in combination with a transfer case makes the Nissan Pathfinder very passable off-road.

Excellent driving characteristics of the independent suspension and good handling on the highway allow you to travel and drive long distances without any problems. Suitable for hunters, fishermen, travelers and romantics.

Nissan Pathfinder 3 review:

The first model began to be produced for the US market back in 1986 and was called the Nissan Terrano. In 1996, the 2nd generation began production. In 2005, the 3rd generation in the R51 body saw the light, and in 2010 there was a restyling. Nissan Pathfinder 3rd generation It was produced as a restyled version until 2013. We'll talk about this model in the review.

Cars 4th generation were presented to the world in 2012, assembled for Russia in St. Petersburg in May 2014, and sales began in August. After some time, information about the new generation will appear on the site, but for now let's talk about the previous one.

The SUV is assembled for the European market in Spain, and for the Russian market in St. Petersburg.

Interior:

In the cabin spacious and quite comfortable. The quality of finishing materials is average. The driver's seating position is high, forward visibility is good. The doors are wide, making it easy to get in and out. But rear passengers not very comfortable. Their seating position is not entirely comfortable for long trips because the seats are low.

But thanks to an air conditioner installed separately specifically for the second row, as well as a well-thought-out air exchange system, they will not be left without the necessary heat or cold. The front windows have an ultraviolet filter, and the rear windows are tinted. This protects the driver and passengers from the sun's rays and adds comfort.

In the XE configuration there are 5 seats in the cabin, in other trim levels 3 rows of seats and 7 seats. In the third row on a long journey it will be uncomfortable for adults, but if necessary, you can get there. With the rear rows of seats folded down, a flat floor is formed. A double air mattress can easily fit into the space thus obtained, which allows, for example, two adults to sleep comfortably on vacation. Moreover, even a person 2 meters tall will lie comfortably at full height.

Trunk in Pathfinder 3 is huge and practical. You can load almost any fishing, hunting or recreational equipment. It also has compartments for things and tools, so constantly transported items will always be in their place. The glass in the trunk door opens separately, in some cases this is very convenient so as not to open the whole door. The spare wheel is full-size and mounted under the car body.

Interior noise insulation on the Middle level. However, the sound of the engine running in the cabin is almost inaudible. Only when accelerating does it remind you that this is still a diesel engine.

Engine:

Diesel engine 2.5 l, 190 hp Quite torquey, maximum torque is achieved already at 2000 rpm and amounts to a significant 450 Nm.

The second diesel engine is 3.0 l, 231 hp. even more torquey and has a good power reserve, a torque of 550 Nm is achieved starting at even lower speeds - 1750 rpm.

Both diesel engines are very sensitive to fuel quality, so it is better to refuel at proven and well-known gas stations.

In the city the dimensions feel good, big sizes do not interfere with movement and rearrangement in ranks. However, when reversing, rear visibility is poor and you need to be careful. You can easily not notice the neighboring a car or some kind of obstacle. Therefore, it is very desirable to have a rear view camera included. If you drive quietly, the consumption in the city will be about 12 liters. If you press the gas pedal more actively, this value can increase to 20 liters per 100 km.

in winter In configurations with an automatic transmission, I recommend driving with all-wheel drive always on. If you don't turn it on, the rear wheels will drive. On slippery snow and ice, skidding and slipping are possible when changing automatic transmission gears. In the case of a manual transmission, this can still be controlled, but with an automatic transmission it is difficult.

At negative temperatures of about -30 degrees, diesel engines start without any problems, the interior warms up very quickly in winter thanks to accelerated mode.

Directional stability:

On the road When driving at a speed of 130 km/h, you don’t feel any tension, you don’t feel the speed. Pathfinder 3 holds the road well both on smooth asphalt and on dirt roads. Potholes and potholes fly by unnoticed. Overtaking is easy even when driving uphill.

In the case of an automatic transmission, when you press the gas pedal, there is a delay of about 1 second before the car accelerates. Handling is comparable to that of a passenger car; the steering wheel turns very easily. The only negative is that the feedback from the steering wheel is not very good, but this does not interfere with “feeling” the car.

Suspension The car is a little harsh, but in moderation. When turning on slippery surfaces, the ESP system does not activate immediately, but with a slight delay. It seems to give the driver a little freedom when driving, but if a dangerous skid is detected, it will immediately begin to perform its functions.

Off-road performance"Pafa" are impressive, cross-country ability is very good high level. The car copes well with medium and moderate off-road conditions such as sand, clay, stones, and truck ruts. Confidently overcomes small water obstacles in the form of streams and small rivers (the maximum ford depth according to the characteristics is almost half a meter).

When driving on water, the main thing is not to drive into the sand, otherwise you can get stuck and four-wheel drive will no longer save you. In most cases, 4WD will pull the car up on any road, provided the underbody doesn't touch the ground. Problems can arise on wet ground or clay, so you need to be much more careful when driving off-road in the rain.

Summary: reliable, masculine, passable, versatile SUV for fairly wealthy people. Worth the money spent on it.

Like it: travelers, romantics, fishermen, hunters; for those people who love off-roading and various competitions.

Don't like it: for lovers of great comfort on the road, for lovers of small cars.

For tuning, Pathfinders are usually equipped with wheels of a larger radius and width to improve cross-country ability. Also, a variety of body kits find their place on the body to achieve an impressive appearance. Roll bars are installed to protect the bumper and radiator.

Various roof racks allow you to take more things with you, although the volume of the standard trunk is quite large. Tuned Nissan Pathfinders look very solid and impressive. But of course, any tuning must be approached wisely. Some people make a body kit just for beauty, while others improve the driving and other qualities of an SUV. In any case, tuning should be installed by professionals; for this purpose, there are specialized auto centers for the preparation and tuning of SUVs.

Off-road test of Nissan Pathfinder R51, driving on rocks and stones:

I think after watching these videos you have the right impression about the driving performance of the SUV in question. With the right approach and sufficient driving skills, the Pathfinder can easily overcome very difficult obstacles. And it handles ordinary snow, mud and ruts with a bang.

If you have something to say about this car, if you own it or bought it recently, write a comment or review. This could be repair experience, driving impressions, or some stories. Your opinion is very important to us.

The large 3rd generation Nissan Pathfinder SUV in the R51 body debuted at the Detroit motor show in early 2004. Compared to its predecessor, the car has noticeably increased in size and returned to the frame structure.

The Nissan Pathfinder R51 shares a chassis with a pickup truck; these two models are also united by the common design of the front part of the exterior, the interior and the technical filling. The SUV was restyled twice, the last of which was dated in the spring of 2010.

The overall length of the Nissan Pathfinder R51 is 4,813 mm, the wheelbase is 2,850, the width is 1,848, the height is 1,770, and the ground clearance is 228 mm. Trunk volume varies from 515 to 2,091 liters. Since 2005, a third row of seats has become available for the SUV, which makes it possible to make it seven-seater.

Externally, the Nissan Pathfinder 3 looks brutal and has nothing in common with the previous generation car. The appearance is created by a massive radiator grille, wide wheel arches and original side glazing with a very wide rear pillar, to which the door opening handle has been moved.

In the interior of the SUV, after the update, the door panels were changed, chrome was added to the trim, and the Premium Nissan Connect system appeared with a new touch screen and a 40-gigabyte hard drive. Overall, the interior creates a pleasant feeling. It is not luxurious, but at the same time it does not seem outdated or primitive.

In various markets, the Nissan Pathfinder R51 is offered with several petrol and diesel engines, but the car is supplied to Russia exclusively with engines running on “heavy” fuel.

The base engine is a 2.5-liter inline-four turbodiesel with 190 hp. (450 Nm), available paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic. The SUV's drive, regardless of its version, is exceptionally full.

But you can also buy a top-end modification with a 231-horsepower (550 Nm) diesel V6 with a displacement of 3.5 liters. It is combined only with a 7-speed automatic and accelerates a car weighing 2,210 kg from zero to hundreds in 8.9 seconds (versus 11.0 seconds with a more modest engine), providing a top speed of 200 km/h.

The average fuel consumption of the Nissan Pathfinder 3.5 in the combined cycle is stated at 9.5 liters per hundred kilometers. In the city - 12.4 liters, on the highway - 7.7 liters. For a car with a base engine, these figures are 8.7 / 11.0 / 7.3 liters per hundred, respectively.

The price of the Nissan Pathfinder R51 at the time of sales started from 1,580,000 rubles for the version with a manual transmission, and for an SUV with an automatic transmission you had to pay at least 1,738,000 rubles. The cost of the most expensive version with a 3.5-liter unit reached 2,321,000 rubles.

Sales of the new one should have started in 2014, but this is a completely different car, in which the frame structure was abandoned. So this car was turned rather into a crossover, and there are fewer and fewer real SUVs on the market.

Nissan Pathfinder R51 photo

Nissan Pathfinder is a crossover with an off-road character. This model has been actively produced for more than 30 years. In 2012, the world saw the fourth generation of this vehicle. Outwardly, it bears little resemblance to the car that rolled off the assembly line in 1985, but it still impresses with its rather large size.

The dimensions of the Nissan Pathfinder are from 4813*1848*1781 to 5008*1960*1767 mm, and the weight varies from 2060 to 2210 kg depending on the generation.

In this article, we will look at the dimensions of all generations of the model, and also find out what characteristic exterior changes have occurred in the restyled 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.

First generation (1985-1995)

The first generation of the Nissan Pathfinder was introduced in 1985. At that time, it was one of the versions of the Terrano model, which was aimed at the US market. For four long years, the car was offered exclusively in a three-door version, and the interior of the vehicle could accommodate five passengers at a time, including the driver. In 1989, Nissan specialists finalized the model, introducing appearance several significant changes. Since many car owners noted that the crossover has difficulty overcoming snow drifts and often gets stuck in the middle of the forest, it was decided to increase the ground clearance, giving the car an off-road character. In addition, at this time a five-door version of the model appeared, which, as practice has shown, was in great demand. The interior of the Nissan Pathfinder, starting from the first generation, has always been spacious and comfortable. A characteristic feature of this car is its oblong-shaped body, which the company’s specialists have not changed to this day.

Second generation (1995-2004)

The second generation of the Nissan Pathfinder crossover is significantly different in design from its predecessor. This time, instead of a frame, preference was given to a monocoque body, the buyer was offered only a five-door version of the model, and the exterior became more modern and presentable. Of course, the width and height of the car have increased, in addition, the luggage compartment has become much more spacious.

Third generation Nissan Pathfinder (2005–2014)

To create the third generation crossover, a frame structure was used, and the platform was borrowed from a pickup truck Navara. The only thing that distinguishes these two models in terms of performance is the presence of an independent rear linkage in the Nissan Pathfinder. This generation became the most popular and was actively sold until 2011 in the automobile markets of Russia, Europe, and, of course, the USA. Compared to the second generation, the ground clearance decreased (to 228 mm), as well as the body width (to 1850 mm), the height remained almost unchanged (1770 mm), however, the manufacturer considered it necessary to increase the curb weight to 2165 kg. The luggage compartment, when passengers are fully seated, has a volume of 515 liters. If necessary, the amount of free space can be increased almost four times (up to 2091 liters) by folding the last row of seats.

Fourth generation (2012 – present)

The fourth generation Pathfinder rolled off the assembly line in 2012. It took practically nothing from the third generation, except for some technical characteristics and luxurious interior decoration. Nissan Pathfinder's dimensions have become larger, and the car itself has begun to look more impressive and solid. The carrying capacity of this model is its strong point, because not every full-size SUV is capable of transporting such large loads. The body length has become 250 mm longer, because the fourth generation is produced exclusively in a seven-seater version.

The overall dimensions of the fourth generation can be seen in the table below:

Drawing conclusions

The dimensions of the Nissan Pathfinder car are quite large, as for a representative of the crossover segment. It is worth noting that strong point models of any generation is the carrying capacity, as well as the capacity of the luggage compartment. The manufacturer has endowed the car with off-road characteristics so that it can easily cope with any difficulties while driving, even on hilly and mountainous terrain.

Dimensions and Dimensions of Nissan Pathfinder updated: November 20, 2017 by: dimajp

It is based on an extended version of the D platform. The car has a monocoque body, the front of which rests on an independent MacPherson-type suspension, and the rear on a multi-link. Under the hood there can be either a 3.5 liter petrol V-shaped “six” with an output of 249 hp. (325 Nm), or a hybrid power plant with a total power of 250 hp. (368 Nm). The hybrid is a tandem of a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a mechanical supercharger (234 hp, 330 Nm) and an electric motor (15 kW, 160 Nm). This is a so-called mild parallel hybrid - a configuration in which the internal combustion engine does most of the work, supplying torque directly to the drive wheels, and the electric motor is connected as needed (for example, when starting off or accelerating). A lithium-ion battery with a modest capacity of 0.63 kWh is installed in the rear of the Nissan Pathfinder. The battery is recharged by an electric motor, which acts as a generator when braking or decelerating the car.

Both available powertrains are paired with an Xtronic CVT. All-Mode 4×4-i all-wheel drive is organized according to a simple scheme - the front axle is constantly engaged, and the rear axle is connected using a multi-plate clutch installed in the rear wheel drive. There are three transmission operating modes: 2WD (front-wheel drive), Auto (automatic force distribution) and Lock (forced clutch locking). The not too high ground clearance of 181 mm, coupled with a long wheelbase (2900 mm), seriously limits the off-road capabilities of the crossover, preventing it from attacking any serious off-road conditions. Direct competitor – – with ground clearance 197 mm looks more preferable from this point of view.

Having impressive dimensions, the car is very heavy. The modification with a 3.5-liter V6 engine weighs 2077 kg when running. Hybrid Nissan Pathfinder R52 due battery almost 100 kg heavier - its mass is 2170 kg. But the trunk of any version of the crossover is impressive in its size. With the second and third row seats folded down, the cargo compartment capacity is 2,260 liters.

According to the passport specifications, the fuel consumption of a Nissan Pathfinder with a V6 engine in mixed driving mode does not exceed 10.4 liters per 100 km. The crossover version with a hybrid installation is 16% more economical - with the same travel pattern it consumes about 8.7 liters. The best traction performance of the hybrid (+43 Nm of torque, availability of peak torque from 3600 rpm versus 4400 rpm for a conventional engine) does not give it any advantage in dynamics. A car with the “Hybrid” nameplate accelerates to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, a “brother” with a classic engine – in 8.5 seconds.
