Shall we dance Latin American dances? Ballroom Latina

Latin American dances are a group of dance styles that are united by vibrant choreography, the same cultural heritage and the fiery temperament of the performers. At our school, Latin American dances for beginners are taught by experienced teachers and international trainers, whose students have won prizes at competitions in Moscow, other cities and Europe. You will find lessons in salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton, cha-cha-cha, rumba - many opportunities for creativity, creative development and self-improvement.

Choosing a Latin dance direction

Popular Latin American dance styles:

  • Reggaeton is an energetic and relatively young movement that emerged in the 90s. This is a combination of reggae, dance-hall, and hip-hop styles.
  • Salsa is a dance of passion that has become the cultural heritage of Latin America. Salsa is danced in 4 counts in a fast-fast-slow rhythm. Improvisation is acceptable.
  • Merengue is a dance that originated in the Dominican Republic and is known for the dancer’s “gait” and expressive movements of the shoulders and body. The performance in pairs looks very spectacular and impressive.
  • Bachata is another trend originally from the Dominican Republic. The dance has a moderate rhythm, the choreography is based on the contrast of sharp and smooth movements.
  • Cha-cha-cha is a popular dance, the history of which began thanks to the work of the Cuban composer Enrique Horrin. He choreographed it based on folk dances, creating the same cha-cha-cha rhythm that everyone recognizes.

Latin clothing

Male dancers will wear classic clothes for sports ballroom dancing - comfortable boots with soft soles, loose trousers, a shirt, and women dance Latin in heels (for beginners - from 5 cm and above), in dresses with loose hems or skirts with a playful slit.

Dancing Latina soloThat's latin, a popular program for adults among club dance lovers. It is optimal for beginners to study Latin American dances, allowing them to master all the basic movements and develop the plasticity of Latin dances alone, and then, if desired, continue classes, using them to support the health and tone of muscles and blood vessels.

Therapeutic effect: This dance-musical cocktail in style latina solo refreshes the sense of rhythm and emotions, improves the mobility of different parts of the body, helps relieve “stagnation” of the lower and upper parts of the whole body (which is very important during “sedentary work”). Increases overall bodily sensitivity and improves mood.

Offer to start a dance course latino solo for adults can be every week, and not just from the beginning of the month. And you can start group classes on the next day that suits you.

The first name of the dance is “Spanish one-step”, since the steps are taken on every count. The Paso Doble was one of many Spanish folk dances associated with various aspects of Spanish life. The Paso Doble is based in part on bullfighting. The partner portrays a bullfighter, and the partner portrays his muleta or capote (a piece of bright red cloth in the hands of a matador), sometimes a second bullfighter, and very rarely a bull, usually defeated by the final blow. The character of the music corresponds to the procession before the bullfight (el paseíllo), which usually takes place to the accompaniment of the paso doble.

In sports ballroom dancing, paso doble begins to dance from the age of Juniors-1, dance couples no lower than C-class.

The main difference between the paso doble and other dances is the position of the body with the chest raised high, wide and lowered shoulders, a rigidly fixed head, tilted forward and down in some movements. This positioning of the body corresponds to the nature of the movements of the matador. The movements can be interpreted as a matador fighting a bull. The weight of the body is forward, but most steps are taken from the heel.

Music consists of 3 main parts (“accents/themes”). The first topic is divided into an introduction and a main part. Most often, the third topic is a repetition of the first. At sports ballroom dancing competitions, the first two themes are most often performed.

Club Latina is the queen of any dance floor today. A perky rhythm, energetic pressure and lively character are the secret of her incredible popularity. The indigenous Cubans - the founders of this dance - are not content with simple movements to the rhythm, they live in this exciting melody.

Latin dancing is a synthesis of club parties and the traditional school of Latin American dancing, based on world classics: rumba, mambo, samba, cha-cha-cha, salsa, bachata, paso doble and even R&B. Each of them helps you learn to listen not only to yourself, but also to your partner. For example, the romantic and at the same time seductive dance of the cha-cha-cha is performed both in pairs and at a distance from each other, involving small steps and sharp movements of the hips. In this case, the woman always flirts with her partner. And Brazilian samba can be defined as flirting on the edge, during which unimaginable and seductive movements of the hips are performed. On the contrary, the Spanish Paso Doble dance is an eternal competition between a man and a woman, which is emphasized by movements and musical accompaniment. But the fiery jive dance is not only a demonstration of good technical training (complex steps and lifts), but also a manifestation of unforgettable emotions accompanied by cheerful music. Another, no less vibrant salsa dance makes you show all the sex appeal of a woman and the secrets of seducing a man.

Club Latin is ballroom dancing transformed into a trendy club dance movement. The training includes basic movements from various Latin dances, adapted for solo performance. After just a few lessons, the skills you have acquired will be useful not only for Latin American themed parties, but also for an ordinary evening in a club without Latin music and Latin dances. The spirit of Latin America, absorbed in classes, will help you look relaxed and graceful, completely surrendering to sensual rhythms.
