How to make pistols. A paper gun that shoots rubber bands: an easy DIY diagram. How to make a vortex cannon with your own hands

A homemade paper gun is an unusual toy for a child and a serious hobby for an adult. The variety of such crafts is amazing. Pistol models differ in appearance, complexity and production time, size, presence or absence of moving parts and other indicators. Some of them even shoot.

A few simple tips will help novice craftsmen remember how to make a gun out of paper.

General rules

Depending on the manufacturing method, paper pistols can be divided into several groups:

To make weapons, it is better to use thick paper, such as Whatman paper, or thin cardboard. The exception is modular origami; office paper is more suitable for it. When assembling crafts, you may need scissors or a paper cutter, glue and tape. You must work carefully, carefully iron the folds, and follow the markings.

Special attention should be paid to details and color scheme. Even simple pistols made using the origami technique will look more impressive if you add inscriptions to them and paint the handle.

Gun according to the template

To make it, you need to print a template on thick paper, bend the sheet in half and cut out the model along the contour.

This gun can shoot paper balls. This requires a groove for the cartridge and cuts to secure the elastic. Before folding the ball channel, you need to make a small cut perpendicular to the trunk. Insert a rubber band into the side holes and secure it. To shoot, simply place the paper ball in the groove and release the rubber band.

The resulting gun can be painted, stickers and inscriptions can be added.

Origami

The origami technique is available not only to adults, but also to children. It allows the child to make his own gun for games.

For the first craft, it is better to choose a simple model. Decorative elements will add realism to such a pistol.

More complex models look more interesting. Making them will require several sheets of paper and a little more time.

For fans of modular origami, video tutorials on how to make a paper gun using this technique are suitable. Each video shows in detail how to assemble modules and weapons from them.

Scale model

Such crafts look like real weapons. The layout of scale models takes several A4 sheets, on average 5–6. It takes from 3 to 7 days to assemble one pistol.

For example, this is what the Taurus Raging Bull revolver looks like when unfolded.

The layout for this pistol takes 6 sheets. Each part must be cut, glued and dried, and then assembled into a revolver.

As a rule, when a person picks up paper, he plans to draw something on it or make some kind of shape. Of course, there is no way to create a real firearm in this way, but making a kind of toy or an interesting imitation is quite possible.

Pistol drawing

The easiest way to make a paper gun is to simply draw it and cut it out. On the Internet you can find many pictures that you can redraw yourself or simply print. You can find detailed diagrams of this or that weapon in order to be able to accurately convey all the details.

Papier mache

This technology allows you to create almost anything, including a pistol. To do this, small pieces of paper are soaked in glue, and then the required shape is formed from them, in this case a pistol. It will be much easier to create it if you make the base of the body from strong wire, and glue the paper on top of it.

Paper shooting gun

There is a rather complex assembly of a kind of origami pistol that can even shoot, but at a very short distance. To create, you will need fairly thick paper, suitable glue and the correct drawing, which can be found on the Internet.

Not long ago, a new unique form of art came into fashion, for which you only need paper, scissors, glue and a printer. It's called papercraft. With its help, you can make a paper figurine of your favorite character from a movie, game or cartoon. You can create a whole panorama with houses, animals and landscapes. It is also possible to make almost any weapon. All you need is to find a suitable scheme on specialized sites. In this way, you will be able to create a highly detailed weapon that will be indistinguishable in the photo from the real thing.

Of course, making papercraft figures is not so easy; it will take some time to learn, but a gun made this way will look almost like a real one. You just need to print the selected diagram on a color printer and glue everything together according to the instructions that are usually included with each model.

Video instruction

Surely, it is difficult to imagine a boy who would be indifferent to weapons. Of course, we are talking about toy and safe pistols. You can not only buy them in the store, but also make them yourself. For example, in this master class we will use paper to make a toy gun that will shoot rubber bands.

And today there will be two types, both shoot great. But in the first case you don’t need glue (you can replace it with tape or without it at all), and in the second you need a more serious approach - you need hot melt glue and a little more paper. But it's worth it because there's a real trigger here. So, I’ll start with the first simpler option, which, if mastered, will give all classmates the opportunity to make pistols in 20 minutes.

For production you will need only 2 A4 sheets and rubber bands, which can be purchased at stationery stores. The color of the paper is not important, you can take regular white paper, the main thing is that it is of standard density (for printing on a printer), otherwise the tool will bend under the tension of the elastic band.

To make a pistol we will take:

  • one sheet of red and one black paper;
  • PVA glue;
  • stationery erasers.

We will make a pistol handle from red paper. First, fold the sheet in half lengthwise.

Then we bend the bottom edge towards the midline. In this case, literally 2 mm should not be reached to the fold line itself.

Let's fold this side towards the middle again.

Fold the top edge symmetrically.

Fold the resulting red strip in half in the transverse direction.

Let's straighten it out, then fold it in half lengthwise.

Using the same principle, we make a blank from a black sheet of paper, which will then become the barrel of a pistol.

Next you need to be very careful. First we take the red stripe. Focusing on its middle, place a black stripe on the left side, and then bend the left edge of the red stripe at a right angle. Then we place a black stripe on the right.

Then we move the black stripe and place it to the right of the middle of the red blank. Now we bend the right edge of the red stripe at a right angle.

We continue to make the handle of the future pistol. To do this, bend the edges of the red strip so that they form an equilateral triangle in the center.

After this, fold the handle as follows.

We insert the prepared black trunk (it should be folded in half) under the folds of the red blank.

And we bring it to the end.

In principle, you can get by with tape or without glue or tape at all.

And our pistol will fire as follows. First we loosen the red part a little, lifting it up. We stretch the elastic band. To fire, you need to lift the back black part with your thumb, which will allow the rubber band to come off the gun.

Video on how to make a paper gun that shoots rubber bands

This is the same design as in my photo master class. If something was not clear, you can watch the video. The only difference is that the author of the video cuts the protruding part where the elastic bands are attached. This will make it less likely to come off, although both options work! It’s just that in the first one you need to more carefully tighten and fix the “bullet”.

Another option, but a little more complicated. If you learned how to do the first lesson, then you will be able to do this one too. Here you will need a heat gun - it hardens quickly and glues firmly. Yes, you can’t make it during a lesson at school, but you can make it at home and bring it ready. And the peculiarity of this interesting option is that it shoots when you pull the trigger. Just like the real thing!

DIY gun that shoots paper

Here you still need a rubber band, since it will make it possible to pull back the piston, which will then forcefully return back and push out the bullet. A bullet is an ordinary piece of rolled paper. By the way, we made the same version from cardboard and it is eternal, as it does not bend and works like a charm, and the ability to use 2-3 rubber bands in this case for greater tension and shooting power is also pleasing. They can safely knock down not just cups, but also bottles or cans. A paper gun also works, but the maximum is one rubber band, otherwise it will bend, which makes it less powerful.

Here is our video with a master class on how to make it out of paper.

A cardboard gun that shoots bullets

And here is our version made of cardboard. We roll the cardboard into a tube with a diameter of two centimeters. To easily roll the cardboard, you need to roll it with a rolling pin or something round. Fix with hot glue. We twist another piece of cardboard of the same length into a tight tube, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, so that it easily fits into the previous one.

Glue the handle as you like.

On one side, use a cardboard loop to secure an elastic band or 2-3. This is our piston.

You need to stick a limiter on the thin tube so that it is not completely hidden in the barrel - this is a piece of cardboard glued across the piston.

You can even make a fake trigger.

We insert the thin tube into the wide one.

We make a holder for an elastic band on a wide tube and fix it with glue.

We put on an elastic band; I additionally secured it with a piece of cardboard so that it does not slip off.

That's it, you can shoot. Bullets can be cardboard rolls or some Lego pieces, whatever fits in the barrel. If you make the barrel wider, you can shoot tennis balls.

That's all for today, I hope you liked our crafts. If yes, then click on the social network button and share with your friends. And I will be pleased and will help the development of the blog.

Sometimes each of us wants to return to childhood and remember our favorite toys. So, almost any man will be interested in succumbing to childhood memories and making a paper gun for his son or grandson.

Which method do you prefer? Origami comes to the rescue - the ancient Japanese art of folding paper figures, which you can involve all family members in.

It has been proven that joint origami classes with children can bring a lot of positive emotions and new impressions for all participants in this creative process.

Diagram of a simple origami paper gun

The easiest way to fold a pistol looks like this:

What will you need?

You will need two rectangular sheets of paper and a little patience.

Step-by-step instruction

  1. We fold both sheets into two strips like an accordion, only wrapping the paper in one direction (without turning the workpiece over). In this case, it is desirable that one strip is slightly narrower in width than the other (as in the summary diagram above).

  1. We fold each resulting paper strip in half.

  1. From a wider piece we make an improvised loop, which we put on a narrower strip, as shown in the summary diagram for making a pistol (step 3 and 4).

The toy gun is ready!

If you wish, you can make and glue a sight to it by taking a small strip of paper and folding it as shown in the picture:

You will learn how to make another version of this pistol out of paper (which can also shoot!) by watching the following video:

Paper gun and revolver using origami technique

Using this basic diagram as a basis, you can easily and simply make a paper gun without tape and glue:

And after getting a little confused and showing a bit of imagination, build a toy paper revolver with your own hands:

Simple shooting pistol

Another easy-to-use paper gun that shoots bullets can be done using the following instructions:

What will you need?

To work you will need:

  • paper,
  • pencil and black pen,
  • scissors,
  • rubber band for money.

Manufacturing scheme

We perform the following steps step by step:

  1. We draw the outlines of the future weapon on paper. To do this, you need to bend an A4 sheet of paper in half and draw the contours of a gun on one part of the sheet (steps a-b on the main diagram).

  1. Carefully cut out the pistol along the contour and lay out the sheet: you get a mirror image of the pistol.

  1. Now you need to draw the missing parts on it with a black pen so that the model looks like a real pistol.
  2. Making a bend for the bullets. We easily press the upper part of the pistol barrel inward (step c) to create a small groove into which homemade bullets can be inserted.

  1. We adapt the elastic band for shooting. At the beginning of the trunk we make a small cut (step d) and insert an elastic band into it. We tighten and secure it on the opposite part of the barrel so that when released it can capture the bullet.
  2. Let's make a bullet. We crumple a ball of paper (you can have several at once) and insert it into the groove we made.

The work is completed, the gun is ready!

You will find a master class on making another type of simple paper gun, this time in a mini format, which is also very, very easy to repeat, in the following video:

Volumetric model of a paper gun

Let's consider another realistic version of a 3D paper gun. Its production is somewhat more complicated than the previous ones and takes a little longer. However, we assure you, the result is worth it!

Materials

We will need:

  • sheets of A4 paper,
  • scissors,
  • tape or glue.

Scheme of work

  1. Gun frame.

Take a sheet of A4 paper and fold it in half several times. The result is a narrow strip that needs to be secured with tape so that it retains its appearance and does not unwind.

One edge of the strip must be bent towards the middle, the second one too. Both resulting edges should be the same in height. The result was a kind of groove with smooth, identical edges - the frame of the future pistol.

  1. Lever.

We repeat the same steps again, only we fold the sheet in half lengthwise and make a paper tube with a diameter of 4 cm. We fasten the paper handle with tape and make an oblique cut.

We connect the gun frame to the handle and secure it with glue or tape.

  1. Small parts.

A strip of paper the same width as the frame must be carefully attached to the back of the handle with the frame. One side of the strip is secured with tape to the handle, the other to the frame.

This strip smoothly connected the two parts into one. Now, in order for the paper pistol to take on a look close to a real weapon, you need to cut out a piece of paper and glue this area, as shown in the figure.

We make a safety bracket from a strip of paper, secure one end of it with tape under the bottom of the frame, and the other on the front of the handle.

  1. Pistol barrel.

We tightly roll the paper into a tube with a diameter of 1 cm and a length equal to the length of the frame. Then we cut a rectangle in this tube - a hole for cartridges (focusing on the figure below).

We cut out a rectangular piece of paper and attach it to the barrel - it will cover the hole on the receiver cover.

Carefully secure the barrel to the frame using tape, leaving a small space between them so that the receiver mount can move freely.

  1. Gate.

We fold an A4 sheet of paper in five, seal the edges with tape and make a kind of roof for the frame itself, corresponding in size to the length of the trunk.

We place the paper shutter over the barrel and move it back, mark with a pencil the place where the hole is located near the barrel, and do the same in the shutter. This hole will serve to eject bullets.

To hold the bolt against the barrel, you need to attach a strip of thin paper to the bottom of the front edge of the bolt. Then we put the bolt on the barrel, move it back so that it merges tightly with the frame, and under it we fasten a strip of paper, approximately 3 cm from the rear edge.

These strips of paper will hold the shutter securely. The pistol is loaded when the bolt is pulled back and forth.

  1. Paper magazine for pistol.

We roll a piece of paper into a tube, make a rectangle out of it, approximate to the diameter of the handle, so that it fits there and does not fall out.

The weapon is ready for a toy battle!

You will learn how to make another interesting example of a shooting pistol at home by watching the following video:

To make a pistol with only paper and stationery on hand, no special skills are required. All you need is desire and a little free time!

Such a pistol can shoot small balls and paper. With such a pistol you can compete with your friends in accuracy and shooting range. This pistol shoots from 6 to 13 meters in length, it all depends on how carefully you make it and how powerful the elastic band is.

And so for it we need:
-paper (I rolled them into tubes in advance)
-ball or money bands
-insulating tape

The tools we need are:
- hot-melt adhesive
-scissors
-ruler

So first you need to make the tubes (for me this is the longest process)
Starting from one of the corners of a sheet of paper you need to twist a tube like this, at first it may seem difficult but then it will be easier

Now you need to make a larger tube; to do this, wrap a sheet of paper onto the first tube:

In total, we will need 2 thin tubes and 3 thick ones made from A4 sheets.
We measure 7 cm on a thick tube and cut 5 identical pieces

Then we glue it together, this will be the handle of our gun:

Take a thick tube and measure 5 cm from the edge and glue it to the handle:

And then glue another smaller one about 7 cm on top:

Now let's start making the trigger mechanism, namely the "trigger"
We take a thin tube, insert it into the upper tube of the handle so that it extends 1-2 times beyond the edge, mark the place of the bend and bend the tube:

once again:

It should look something like this:

And we glue one more small detail:

Take another thin tube and bend it at the edge:

We fold the balloon twice (it is better to use money elastic bands) and glue it together as shown in the photo, you also need to wrap the whole thing tightly with threads:

We insert a thin tube into the “trunk” of our paper gun and glue the ends of the balls at a distance of 5-10 cm from the end of the “trunk” and secure with electrical tape:

Well, that's all, our toy paper gun is ready! in order to shoot, you need to pull back the driving mechanism so that its end is fixed at the end of the “trigger”, then we put a crumpled piece of paper or a ball into the “barrel” of our paper pistol, aim and shoot.
