The tablet is not charging: why and what to do? Samsung tablet is not charging The tablet is connected but is not charging

Many users of Android devices sooner or later face the problem of charging their gadget. It either stops charging altogether or runs out of charge in a matter of hours. In addition, there are many other problems related to the operation of the charger, battery, etc. So, let's take a closer look at the most common ones and try to find a solution!

Your Android phone or tablet has stopped charging. What to do?

First of all, let's look at the known problems associated with direct charging of devices based on the Android operating system. There are several such problems, and each of them has a number of features. Therefore, before proceeding with a solution, make sure that the reason is appropriate.

Check charging

First, you need to check the charger itself. To do this, do the following:

  1. Turn off the phone, after remembering the charge percentage;
  2. Place it on charge for 15–20 minutes;
  3. Turn it back on.

If the charge has increased, everything is fine with the charging itself. If not, look for the specific problem below.

Device shows charging but won't charge

This problem is one of the most common. You connect the charger and see that the phone is charging. Without a shadow of a doubt, you leave it on charge and leave or continue to use it. However, as soon as you take out the charger, the gadget immediately turns off, or it turns out that the percentage of charge has not budged, or even dropped altogether. There may be several reasons for this behavior of a smartphone (or tablet):

  1. Using a non-native charger;
  2. Charger failure;
  3. Battery failure;
  4. Cable defect;
  5. Loose or broken socket on your phone (tablet).

When using chargers from brands other than the brand of the gadget itself, there is a possibility that both the charger and the phone will not work properly. This is due to incompatibility, for example, voltage or other parameters. It is clear that in this case you just need to change the charger to the “original” one. If the standard one is broken, you can buy it at any hardware store.

If the charger itself breaks down, the only way out, of course, is to buy a new one. However, it is difficult to “diagnose” such a breakdown. This can be done using a multimeter by checking the stability of the voltage on the charger. It is unlikely that a typical user will have such a device at home, so it is better to contact a workshop. But before you do this, check the battery.

"Humps" on a swollen battery

Battery failure is much easier to determine. Turn off your phone or tablet and open the back cover of the device. Carefully remove the battery. Check it for the presence of characteristic “humps”. If there are any, it means it is swollen and must be replaced. Again, you can purchase a new battery at any mobile equipment store. The price for it is quite reasonable.

Charger cable defects are also quite easy to identify. Unplug the charger from the socket and, placing your fingers on the cord, run them from edge to edge. You will immediately notice if the cable is torn or incorrectly bent.

If you do not find any of the above, most likely the charging socket on your phone is broken. Usually it is also used to connect a USB cable. Therefore, you can quickly identify if there is a problem with the socket by connecting your device to your computer. It is not recommended to repair the nest at home. Contact a specialist who will check everything and, if necessary, change it. By the way, this service also does not require large expenses.

The device does not charge using the USB cable

Check the USB cable

If your Android device charges from the charging block, but not from the USB cable, then the problem is most likely in the cable itself. Perform the following diagnostics. Most likely you will find the problem.

  • Check the wire as indicated above for the charging unit;
  • Make sure that the “input” and “output” connectors themselves are in order (there are no mechanical damages);
  • Check your computer's USB port.

If none of the above helped you, the problem may be software related. Then take the device for repair.

The smartphone or tablet does not charge after being completely discharged

This problem, in most cases, is not a problem at all. This behavior of the gadget may be due to the lack of any reserve energy. For example, a car cannot be started if the battery is completely discharged. Approximately the same thing happens with a phone (tablet). To solve the problem, leave it charging for a few hours and don't try to turn it on. Soon your favorite gadget will “come back to life.”

Restoring the battery after a complete discharge

If the device still does not charge, most likely the problem is in the charging unit or battery. We described above how to diagnose them. Well, if this does not help, contact the service center, because the operating system may also fail.

The tablet is completely discharged and will no longer charge or turn on.

This problem is most likely the quintessence of the other two. Namely:

  • Malfunction of the charging unit or battery;
  • As a result, it is impossible to charge the tablet again.

Carry out the diagnostics described. If it doesn't help, the error lies in the operating system itself. Then you will need the help of a specialist.

The device stopped charging from the cigarette lighter

Cigarette lighter charger is faulty

If your gadget “refuses” to charge from the cigarette lighter in the car (but charges in all other cases), it is obvious that the problem is in the cigarette lighter itself or, more likely, in the car charging unit. In this case, the only solution may be to replace this block.

The device blinks but does not charge

The most common reason for this behavior of a phone or tablet is overheating of the processor. To avoid this, the device is periodically disconnected from charging by software. The presence of such a problem indicates a hardware malfunction of the smartphone itself. Therefore, only professional diagnostics can help.

What if the device is charging, but something goes wrong?

By “something goes wrong” we mean a whole range of possible “anomalies” in the operation of the gadget. Despite the strangeness of some errors, most likely, finding their solution is quite simple. The most common faults are described below.

Charging is carried out only when switched off

Such an unusual, at first glance, error often has a very prosaic character. If there are no problems with the charging unit and battery (see diagnostics of these parts above), then it’s all about the installed software. The fact is that individual programs often “come into conflict” with others. The similarity of the executed codes leads to the fact that the device simply does not know what to do: whose request to fulfill first.

Avoid low-quality software

If your device only charges when it is turned off, then the error is caused by a program aimed at working with the battery. An example of such a program could be some kind of “battery manager” or something similar. Removing unnecessary software will help solve the problem. In addition, do not forget to clear the cache using special programs (use only popular and proven ones, for example, Clean Master).

The device is charging, but not completely

This problem most often appears in budget tablets and phones from manufacturers that are popularly called “Chinese”. Most likely, when assembling this or that gadget, it was decided to save on costs. Either way, there are several solutions to this problem.

  1. Try leaving the device on charge for a long time (for example, for a day);
  2. Unplug the charger from the socket and plug it back in several times in a row;
  3. Connect your device to your computer and charge it via USB.

If none of the above helps, contact a technician to replace the battery or charger.

The device does not charge more than 1%

This or that solution to this problem is unlikely to suit everyone. It may be due to a faulty battery or charging, or to malicious or malware on the device. To determine what caused this behavior of your gadget, carry out a complete diagnosis of it in accordance with all the above recommendations. If all else fails, contact the service center.

Charging does not occur until the device reboots

Charging does not occur until a reboot completes

The occurrence of this problem indicates, in most cases, a software malfunction. The cause of this malfunction may be special programs for working with the battery, which were described earlier. “Clean” your phone or tablet from additional software, and the problem will go away.

The device discharges even when turned off

In this case, we are hardly talking about any problem. After all, any phone or tablet spends a small amount of energy even when turned off. For example, you need to keep the clock on the device working or turn on the alarm on time (on some phones it works even if they are turned off), etc.

However, if the device is turned off and discharges too quickly, the battery is most likely broken (swollen or leaking). Check it yourself and, if you find a breakdown, buy a new one.

The device is charging but shows an incorrect charge value

The presence of this problem may be the first signal of a breakdown of any kind (from those described above). Check all hardware and software of the device. You will probably find the problem without the help of a technician. Most often, replacing the battery will help in this case.

Your Android gadget runs out of battery quickly: what is the reason and what is the solution?

Solving the problem of fast discharge

Rapid discharge of the device is a very common problem of our time. Any phone or tablet from any manufacturer almost always does not withstand even three or four days of operation. And sometimes the time from charging to charging is reduced to several hours. What to do? How to extend battery life? Let's try to figure it out!

What processes contribute to rapid discharge?

Rapid discharge of an Android device in many cases is associated with reasons such as:

  • Frequent search of mobile network;
  • Enabled search for Wi-Fi access point;
  • GPS tracking;
  • Many background processes requiring large resources.

All these problems can be solved without the use of special tools or skills. All it takes is a little care.

Frequent network searching is associated with instability of the coverage of your mobile operator. So, if you are traveling by train, the connection will often be lost, causing the phone to try to find it again and again. This takes a lot of energy. To avoid running out of juice while traveling, turn on Airplane mode. If the search for a network occurs on ordinary days, it may be worth thinking about changing the operator.

Remember to turn off Wi-Fi when you leave the access point. For example, if you leave it on on the way to work, your phone or tablet will constantly monitor nearby routers. The same applies to GPS, only in this case the connection to satellites is maintained, which also requires energy.

Remove unnecessary programs. If there are none, try choosing ones that you rarely use. Today, almost all applications on Android work in the background with some resources, which means the device requires a lot of energy to support their work.

The device charges quickly and/or discharges quickly

This is most often due to a faulty battery. Most likely, it leaked and the capacity physically fell. Check the battery for any swelling. Also, uninstall third-party battery management programs if you have them installed.

The phone or tablet takes a long time to charge and discharges quickly

What to do if the phone takes a long time to charge?

In this case, we can say with 100% certainty that the device does not have enough battery capacity. It is difficult to say right away whether the battery itself is broken, or the problem is in the large number of installed programs. Check the battery first to avoid further damage. If everything is fine with it, get rid of unnecessary programs and follow the recommendations regarding networks indicated above.

Android device discharges quickly in standby mode

This problem is almost identical to the previous two. It doesn't matter whether your phone or tablet is in standby mode or whether you're actively using it. There are always background processes, and the battery life depends on their proper organization.

Battery charge drops sharply

Battery charge drops sharply

If you notice that in some cases the battery charge drops suddenly quickly, you need to try to determine which ones. Most likely, some program is running its own code, which requires too many resources. The processor receives many tasks and simply overheats. If the “pest” cannot be identified, it makes sense to completely reinstall the operating system.

The device began to discharge quickly after the update

Owners of older versions of devices usually encounter this problem. For example, telephone Samsung Galaxy Ace II originally released based on the operating system Android 2.3.6. However, after some time, the manufacturers decided to “please” the owners Ace II new system Android version 4. As it soon turned out, the phone was simply not able to cope with it. In addition to frequent glitches, it began to overheat and, accordingly, quickly discharge.

Odin program

What to do in such a situation? The best solution is to make a backup. That is, you need to reinstall the operating system, returning the previous version. This can be done using the program Odin.

A new device from the store discharges quickly

If you encounter this problem, check reviews of the same device from other consumers. And if the majority does not complain about rapid discharge, you need to contact the seller with a request to change the product. It is possible that the distributor will redirect you to the manufacturer. In any case, this problem is easily solved.

How to check the battery status of your device?

To find out exactly what percentage of battery charge your phone or tablet currently has, go to "Settings". Find the subsection there "Device Information" or something similar. In it you will see the numbers that interest you. It's useful to do this periodically if you want to know exactly how much uptime you have left. Besides, in "Information..." you can find information about which applications consume the most energy, which is also very practical, given what we described above.

In rare cases, you may see a question mark (“?”) on the battery icon. Its appearance indicates that something is wrong with the battery. The problem may be in both hardware and software. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a complete diagnostic of the battery in order to identify possible defects and/or errors.

How to check the battery for swelling was discussed above. As for smudges, the word speaks for itself. If they are detected, you should immediately change the battery. In addition, contact a technician to check whether the electrolyte fluid has damaged the device itself.

How to charge an Android device if the socket is broken?

Using wireless charging

If you need to quickly charge your device before fixing a broken socket, you can purchase a wireless charger. It is a kind of card that is placed on the battery inserted into the phone. However, not all phones and tablets support this function. In addition, the cost of wireless charging is usually higher than the cost of repairing the socket at a service center. So it's better to wait.

How to properly charge Android devices?

How to properly charge Android devices?

Finally, it is worth saying that many problems with battery performance are associated with improper or incorrect charging. To avoid these problems from recurring, follow these simple recommendations:

  • Always wait until the battery is completely discharged before charging your phone (tablet);
  • Do not remove the charging unit from the socket until charging is complete;
  • Leave the device in standby mode while it is charging;

A tablet is an indispensable accessory for a modern young man. Not very large in size, it is convenient for reading e-books or playing simple games, with its help you are always in touch in any place convenient for you. However, a short time passes after the purchase, and the mini-computer begins to act up - it freezes, etc. What is this connected with?

Symptoms of the problem

Tablet hangs

The situation differs from not turning it on in that it cannot be turned off. There are several ways to get the tablet out of this state - turn it off and on again. Does not work? Then hold down the power button for a few seconds. Doesn't work again? Press and hold the “on/off” and “volume” buttons at the same time. Typically, this will bring the tablet out of the freeze. IN as a last resort, you can apply a “hard” reboot. Of course, in this case, all installed programs and personal files will be lost. You need to turn on the tablet, then hold down two buttons - “volume” and “power”. Use the volume control to go to reset. Select it with the on/off button. The device will reboot and a clean operating system will be restored.

The tablet does not charge and therefore does not turn on

There are several reasons for this.

  1. Incorrect operation. By completely discharging the mini-computer battery, we are signing its death warrant. The device does not turn on due to a low battery, and the battery, in turn, does not charge because it was not used correctly. But it is not all that bad. You can still revive the battery in an extreme way - disassemble the tablet, remove the battery and charge it, bypassing the charge controller.
  2. The charger may be damaged. This is a particularly weak point for Chinese tablets. Usually this problem needs to be solved with a tester in hand. Chargers come in three types - 12, 9, 5 Volts and a current of 2–3 Amperes. (For example, the charger may say: 9V 2A). If there is voltage in the charger, but the current fluctuates, the tablet will still start, but in this case it will only charge 2-3%. Tablet batteries are very powerful and require the same amount of power to charge. A weak charger can generally damage the tablet. More easy way To check the memory is to charge the device from the computer. If it charges normally, then change the mains charger. The reason is her.
  3. There is voltage, but no charging. This is indeed one of the most interesting reasons. The voltage is normal everywhere, the current is also normal, the indicators are on. But the tablet is not charging. The simplest reason is dirty contacts. Usually a lot of dirt or dust accumulates there. Carefully inspect the charging connector, especially the plug that goes into the tablet. Try moving the cable in different directions. Maybe in some position charging will still start. So it's a problem with the connector. It happens that the contact is either bent or broken off.
  4. If neither cleaning the contacts nor “wiggling” helped, it means that the connection between the board and the battery may have come loose or the display cable has moved away from the circuit board. You should not disassemble the tablet yourself and check the voltage on the battery. It is best to take the gadget to a workshop.
  5. Another reason for the battery not charging is damage to the power circuit. The culprit of the breakdown in this case is the charger, which can supply the battery with a current much higher than required by the instructions, either in constant pulses or in one powerful jerk. The tablet's power circuit is damaged, making charging the battery impossible. The service center will help solve the problem. It is not recommended to repair such damage yourself.
  6. A device may have a good battery but not work.

  • The tablet does not turn on not only because the battery is dead. There may be incompatibility of some software products (recently installed games or other gadgets that conflict with the operating system). In this case, you need to reflash the device. In this case, charging may be okay.
  • The tablet does not turn on for another trivial reason - you dropped it. In this case, you should also use the services of a service center.
  • The tablet is not charging due to a broken power controller. There is only one way out - repair.

And another important point is the low voltage in your network. Expensive modern tablets have special protection that does not allow the device to be charged if the network is not suitable for it according to its technical characteristics. In other words, the tablet was plugged into the socket, and he... The easiest way out is a voltage stabilizer.

When using the tablet, do not forget to study the instructions, then you will not have to contact a service workshop.

Modern technologies have firmly entered our lives. Many people currently simply have no idea how to manage their Everyday life without various mobile devices. This is understandable: with their help, you can easily solve many problems that arise in the process of human life. Features in modern world they simply force a person to have a mobile gadget. Most people use a smartphone as a means of communication and access to information sources on the Internet. For others, the most convenient device is a tablet.

However, while using it, sometimes users encounter one problem - the tablet does not charge. Owners of such devices are interested in the question of why, when they try to charge the tablet, it is not charged from the charger, that is, energy does not accumulate in the battery. It is worth saying that at the moment this question is one of the most common. This article is a help to all device owners who encounter this problem while using their device.

What to do if the tablet does not charge?

The first reason is the charger

If you encounter such a problem when the tablet stops charging, then you should know that in 40% of cases the cause of the malfunction lies in the charger.

Many may be surprised by this fact, but it is not a faulty battery, but the charger that is the main reason that your tablet has stopped charging. In such a situation, to check that “charging” is to blame, you need to perform the following action: measure the output voltage on the charger of your gadget. How can this be done? A tester can help with this. You can also use a multimeter for this purpose. If, after taking measurements, these devices show deviations in voltage from the declared one, then there is nothing left to do but replace the charger. If you are familiar with radio electronics, then in this case you can save the charger from disposal by making repairs. But keep in mind that in some cases, performing restoration work may seem like a difficult task, since when you get acquainted with the insides of the charger, not one, but several elements at once may turn out to be inoperative. Therefore, you will have to work hard to restore the functionality of the charger.

The tablet is not charging, what should I do?

The second reason is a physical malfunction

If the first method did not help you solve the problem, then in this case you should proceed as follows: carefully inspect the charger. Its elements must be complete. There should be no damage. Some of the shortcomings that your charger should not have include play and unsteadiness. Note that there should also be no deformation of the input element. If you have a power connector that you consider to be inoperative, then to check this, you should do the following: when the charger is connected to both the network and the gadget, you need to move the limit switch of the device. If, when performing this manipulation, you see a charge indicator appear on the gadget’s screen, then there is only one solution - you will have to replace the tablet socket. In some cases, it is necessary to replace the contact device that is part of it. Most often, the reason for the malfunction of this device is precisely the connector of the device, which is in a faulty state. It occurs due to the fault of the owner, who, while charging, stretches the cable or simply bends it. Such a careless attitude ultimately leads to a violation of the moment of fixing the limit switch of the charger in the socket. It is enough to carry out a visual inspection and you can understand whether this is the reason that the tablet is not charging or the matter is completely different. But it often happens that the ends of the contacts, which are simply bent by the owner, lead to malfunction. And sometimes the reason is that the owner tried to connect gadgets of the wrong type to the device. As a result, the pin contact, which is usually located in the center, can be pressed into the device. And in some cases it has a curved state. To fix this, you cannot do it on your own. You will have to visit the workshop, since during the repair you will have to face the problem of disassembling the body part.

The third reason is the presence of foreign bodies in the tablet

In some cases, the reason may be due to the fact that the owner of the gadget once allowed liquid to get inside and is now faced with manifestations of this omission. But liquid is not always the cause of loss of performance. Sometimes this condition is caused by dust trapped under the housing. In some cases, the culprit is foreign substances trapped under the housing. Water should be considered as the main critical factor. Under the influence of moisture, the process of soldering oxidation develops inside the case. This can eventually lead to a short circuit. If you find traces of corrosion on the contacts of your device, then it is not at all necessary to contact a specialist to remove them. This work can be done on your own. To do this, it is enough to clean the oxidized contacts and then rinse them with alcohol. But it’s still better to conduct a full diagnosis. Prevention is a mandatory measure. It consists of performing an inspection of the hardware of the gadget. The thing is that when oxidation occurs, it can spread to adjacent components. It is worth saying that the operation of the gadget is negatively affected not only by water that gets under the case, but also by the condensation that forms.

The tablet has stopped charging, what should I do? Four signs of the same type of breakdown

If, while using your gadget, you encounter the problem of quickly draining the battery in your tablet, even when the load is insignificant, then you need not to miss this moment, but to find out the reason why this is happening. It's probably time to think about replacing the battery with a new battery. But if the energy source is used for no more than a year, what could be the reason? There are several versions. We will announce them below.

  1. When 220V is not just numbers, but a necessity. The problem with reduced battery life may be due to the lack of voltage of the required value. In this case, the process of charging the gadget takes a long time or the device does not want to charge at all. The solution here will be as follows: You should turn off the energy-consuming household assistants that you have in your home. This is, first of all, heating equipment. When you have turned off everything power-hungry in the house, you should try again and try to charge the tablet again.
  2. Hardware culprit. If you notice that the back of the panel heats up when charging the tablet, this can only mean that the power controller has failed. You will have to spend money to replace it. This moment is, of course, unpleasant for the owner, since in this case you will have to contact a specialist and somehow manage without the gadget for some time. Sometimes by thermal positioning of the controller and then installing it in place. Often the appearance of this defect is associated with controller displacement. Sometimes it simply moves off the contact pad as a result of a fall. In some cases, this may be due to an accidental impact.
  3. The importance of the right team. It is rare that the cause is a software failure. But sometimes the energy management of the device is disrupted precisely because of problems in it. To eliminate this defect, you should update the software part of your gadget.
  4. Special offender. Most common cause, due to which the process of charging the gadget takes many hours, is the tablet battery. We will talk about malfunctions that may be related to the battery below.

"Energy" must be supplied uninterruptedly and stably

Many people know that when energy is redistributed correctly, it becomes possible to save it. If you encounter a problem where the tablet takes a long time to charge, then you should pay attention to the battery. Often it is he who is responsible for the situation of long charging. Battery malfunctions occur due to lack of regular maintenance. If the owner does not use the gadget for a long time, and the storage is not carried out under appropriate conditions, then this may result in problems with charging the tablet. But don’t put all the blame on the battery alone. Often the owner himself, due to his frivolity or ignorance, does not pay attention to the battery. As a result, there is a problem with long charging devices. If the tablet is completely discharged and is not charging, then the battery may be in a state of deep discharge due to prolonged rest and it will not respond. To avoid problems with the battery, a number of rules should be followed. During the operation of the gadget, it is necessary to exclude situations of systematic deep battery discharges. You can charge the battery only if the charge in it is no more than 20% of the total capacity. When charging is in progress, you should stop using the device.

Why won't my tablet charge via USB?

When your tablet does not charge via USB, this may be mainly due to the following reasons:

  • The tablet does not support USB charging mode;
  • the cable itself is damaged;
  • the tablet is connected in incompatibility mode;
  • presence of damage to the ports (USB on a computer or laptop and micro/mini USB on a mobile device).

Finally

A modern device must have not only modern design and powerful filling, but also meet the requirements of efficiency. They affect the efficiency of using the gadget, which is optimal only when the device’s energy consumption is minimal. One of the important elements in a modern tablet is the battery, on which the comfort of using the gadget largely depends.

I quote Lyudmila:

I have a Prestigio MultiPad tablet.

Hello. The problem may be either in the tablet itself (the battery charge controller has failed) or in the charger (charger). That is, the charger may burn out and produce a voltage lower than specified. I need the output voltage in the charger. If the voltage is normal and corresponds to the declared voltage, then the current strength should be checked. If the current strength (Ampere) is weak, then charging will take a long time - the lower the current strength, the longer the charging takes. If everything is fine with the charger unit itself, then you can check the cable itself from the charger. Often, the microUSB connector on the cable breaks and the contact becomes weak (and sometimes comes off completely). A weak contact is not capable of transmitting a large current, which makes charging very slow. If the connector on the cable is broken and dangles in the tablet (when connected), then it definitely needs to be replaced. Moreover, you should only buy original wires. If replacing the wire did not help and everything is fine with the charger, then take the tablet for repair, since most likely you need to change either the battery or the charge controller.

Tablets have recently begun to be in high demand, this is not surprising, because in terms of functionality they are in no way inferior to a computer or laptop, but they are much more compact and lighter.

Tablets are convenient to use when you are on the road, or relaxing in a cafe or on a walk. Agree that a laptop is not so convenient in such situations.

But many tablets have one peculiarity: once the battery is completely discharged, it is then difficult to start the gadget, even if you put it in to charge. So let's figure out what to do if the tablet doesn't turn on even when it's charging.

What to do if the tablet does not turn on even when charging

Let's say your gadget is charging and doesn't want to turn on. Leave it to charge for at least a couple of hours, preferably overnight.

Try to start the tablet when it is fully charged, disconnected from charging.

If the tablet does not turn on after being fully charged, remove the battery from it (only if your tablet has a removable battery!) for a few minutes, then put it back in place and try to turn it on.

Most likely, after these manipulations the tablet will work, but if this does not happen, we will try to force it to start. Like this? Read on.

Force the tablet to start

First of all, you need to check the system. It happens that it freezes and stops responding to the turn on button. You need to press it and hold it for fifteen, twenty seconds.

If the tablet does not start, look on its case for the inscription reset (emergency shutdown) next to the hole. Take a paper clip, or any other material at hand (toothpick, needle, etc.). Bend one end of the paper clip and insert the paper clip into the hole.

There is a button there that needs to be turned on. Lightly press it until it clicks, then release immediately. After that, try to start the tablet as usual. It works - we are happy, no, then we try to find the reasons.

Power button doesn't work

One of the possible reasons that the tablet does not start is that the start button has broken off from the contacts. This happens quite often.

If you don’t hear a characteristic click when you turn it on, it means you need to solder the button in place. It is best to entrust this action to a specialist.

No picture

How do you know if the device itself does not turn on, or if it turns on, but there is no image? It happens that when it works, the image does not appear, but we think that it is the tablet that does not turn on. How to check?

As I described above, the following steps should be taken:

  1. Place on charge (at least two hours);
  2. Hold the button for at least 15 seconds;
  3. Turn on reset until it clicks.

After this, you need to leave the device for about twenty minutes so that the case, which could heat up during charging, cools down.

Turn on the tablet, wait a few minutes. Feel the back cover. If it warms up a little, as it usually heats up during operation, it means the tablet is working, there’s just no picture.

The reason that there is no image may be that the cable from the matrix to the motherboard has fallen out of the clamps.

In this case, the tablet is disassembled and the cable is inserted into the clamp. If everything is in order with the cable, it is firmly inserted into the clamp, then there is a possibility that the video adapter has failed.

In this case, I can only advise you to contact a service center.

Checking the charger

If the tablet cover does not heat up, which indicates that the device did not turn on, we try to figure out the problem further.

Next in line is checking the charger. To test the charger you will need a multimeter. If you or your friends do not have such a device, then let’s go a different route.

Find another charger for your device, try charging the tablet with it for thirty minutes or more, and after charging, try turning it on.

If the tablet turned on, then perhaps the reason was precisely in your charger, and the gadget, while charging, was not actually charging.

What to do if the tablet does not turn on, check the battery

What to do if the tablet does not turn on, you have checked almost everything, but it does not work? It's time to check the battery. Some tablets have a power controller installed that blocks power-on if there is a problem with the battery.

Check if the battery is connected. In some microtablets, the batteries are soldered to the system board; in others, they are connected via a connector or cable.

Measure the outgoing voltage and the input voltage, that is, how much is coming from the battery, how much is coming from the board. Next, measure the voltage at the contacts of the board, terminal, cable (black - and red +).

Indicators with a working battery!

  • Charger 5v means: from battery 3.7 (charge from board to battery from 3.9 to 4.2v);
  • Charger 9v means: from battery 7.4 (charge from board to battery from 7.9 to 8.2v);
  • Charger 12v means: from battery 7.4 (charge from board to battery from 7.9 to 12.2v).

Do you have a different indicator? Then you should send the gadget for repair.

In the case when everything is in accordance with these indicators, the power circuit is in good condition.

Reset

Perhaps the reason is a failure of the bootloader programs, or the operating system has broken down. Maybe you downloaded a program that caused the system to crash.

In this case, you need to reset all settings to factory settings. How to do it? Read on.

  1. Click reset;
  2. Take out the SIM card. memory card;
  3. Simultaneously press the button through which you increase the sound (not to be confused with decreasing it) and the “turn on” button for ten seconds;
  4. The tablet will begin to vibrate and a menu will appear;
  5. Using the volume key, select Settings, confirm with the power button;
  6. Select Format System, then Reset;
  7. The settings are reset to default.

Turn off the device, insert cards, turn on as usual. If everything you have done does not work, take your gadget for repair.

Unfortunately, with the question of why it can tablet won't charge, is faced by a large number of users. This issue deserves a separate article, so here we will discuss the main reasons and solutions.

Charger
For example, one of the reasons is a broken charger, which, in principle, should be checked first, because this is an option that suggests itself. Usually, Chinese tablet computers, which are equipped with extremely low-quality chargers, can “boast” of broken chargers. To find out if something is wrong with your charger, it doesn't take anything unusual - try charging it from a computer or from the mains. If everything is fine from the computer, but not from the outlet, you need to change the mains charger. Only this time choose it much more carefully.

Battery problems
Next: You may experience battery problems. In principle, this is a fairly popular reason. There is no need to be alarmed right away; this reason usually manifests itself in a simple effect: either the battery does not charge at all, or it charges at great speed - these are all the reasons for its failure. You shouldn’t wait until it stops working completely, because batteries are not always expensive, and you need to look for an option that might suit you. Next, it’s worth talking about possible damage to the charger connector in the tablet computer. To do this, if charging does not work, you need to try moving the cable inside the hole in different directions. If in a certain position the charging still started working, but when returning to the previous position it stopped working again, it means that your connector is damaged. It’s difficult to advise anything here, because your attempts to fix something will cause big problems - you need to contact a service center for help.

Power controller
If none of these reasons were found by you if the tablet is not charging, then this is damage to the power controller. In principle, this is the most difficult, complex and expensive problem. There is nothing you can do here on your own; you need to contact the service center for help, and even try to choose the highest quality center possible so that you receive attentive support.

It is worth recognizing that if you initially chose a tablet computer from a trusted manufacturer, then there should not be such problems. In addition, sometimes quite interesting problems occur, in which, for example, the battery can become fully charged up to 80%, and then stop. In principle, judging by the opinions of various users, you can live with this situation for many years and at the same time the tablet itself will work just great. There are also situations when a tablet computer can charge, but this happens by a couple of percent within one hour. This significantly reduces the comfort of virtual life, so it is much easier to contact a service center for help and not waste time.

Help from specialists
Here we have described almost all the reasons why you may have problems charging your tablet computer. Contact the service center for assistance. If you look, there may be more subtleties in this matter, but they are so rare that you are more likely to encounter problems in the software and operation of the tablet computer itself than it comes to the charger.

When your tablet stops accepting charging and turning on, we think it's broken. Don't panic. You can solve the problem yourself.

Navigation

Your device does not want to turn on and does not accept charging. And here you might think, that’s it, his days are numbered. But if the tablet does not turn on and does not charge, this does not mean that it is finished.

To begin with, contact at least a service center where they will try to revive it for you for a small fee. In addition, you can try to fix the breakdown yourself. By the way, it's not even difficult.

Why did the tablet stop working?

Android is an operating system, just like any other, and can become clogged over time. This happens due to frequent downloads and installations of programs, as well as their removal, errors that are not visible to the eye, and as a result the axis ceases to function normally. Often it all starts with the tablet “slowing down”, and over time it stops working altogether.

Another reason is the incorrect installation of the application which damaged the system. Or you yourself disabled some process in the system; of course, you wanted the best, but it stopped working.

What to do in such cases?

The tablet does not work - what to do?

First, make sure that the problem is hardware and not external damage, such as from a fall. That is, you must understand that the tablet has not been in the hands of a child who managed to drop it or hit it. If there is no damage, then the problem is in the device.

To begin, simply hold down the power button for a few seconds. If it doesn’t help, repeat again, but this time with the volume control buttons pressed. Basically, after such manipulations the problem goes away.

But even such a small resuscitation may not yield anything. Then you will have to act tougher and reset the entire system to factory settings.

The problem is that all information will be deleted from the device. But the gadget itself will work as before again. By the way, if the first resuscitation method worked for you, then you can also do a hard reset, but first you need to copy all the data.

We will not describe the reset process in detail. You can read about this.

After performing this operation, in most situations, the operation of the device is restored and it begins to turn on and charge. But sometimes even this may not save.

What else could it be?

The tablet stopped working - how to solve the problem?

One of the options for the development of the event may be the appearance of a picture with a green robot lying open. Don't panic. You just got to the Recovery menu. Perhaps the reset was not completed completely, each model has its own process, maybe you just didn’t do something. I repeated the procedure again.

The second option is not so happy. Only changing the firmware will help you here. It is better not to do this yourself, as problems may arise. After reflashing, the least that will happen is that the warranty will expire. So it is better to contact a service workshop.

The saddest option will be when the tablet does not react at all and freezes in the recovery menu. This means only one thing. You need to go to the service center. They will provide you with high-quality repairs.

The three most common reasons why your tablet won't charge

Nothing is perfect. And even high-tech tablets can fail. Malfunctions may be caused by a manufacturing defect or improper operation of the device.

If your tablet has stopped charging, there may be several reasons.

Broken charger. This is the most common reason. Chinese chargers of extremely low quality suffer from this especially. To find out if everything is ok with your charging, just try to charge the tablet not only from a power outlet, but also from a computer. If everything charges normally from the computer, but not from the outlet, replace the mains charger.

Battery problems. If your device's battery is charging or draining very quickly, the problem may be the battery. In this case, it is necessary to replace the battery; it is not always expensive.

Damage to the tablet charging connector. When charging the device, try carefully moving the charging cable in different directions; if charging does start at a certain position, your connector is damaged. To solve this problem, contact a service center or a digital equipment repair shop.

Smartphones and tablets periodically need to recharge their batteries. What should you do if your device suddenly stops charging? Why does it take a long time to charge a Lenovo tablet or phone? This will be discussed in the article.

Tablet won't charge

The tablet may not charge for several reasons. We will try to list the most common ones.

The charger is broken

It’s very easy to check if the charging is working properly – you just need to connect a new charger to your Lenovo tablet. If the battery charge indicator appears and the charge level increases, then the problem is with the charger.

Solution. Repair the charger or buy a new one.

The socket is broken

If your tablet stops charging, the charging socket may be broken. In this case, you need to replace it or, at first, charge the gadget using USB as an alternative. Some manufacturers do not provide their devices with such functionality, so charging the tablet using a USB adapter is not always possible.

Solution. Have the socket repaired at a service center or charge via USB.

The battery has failed

If the charger and socket are in order, then the last option remains - the battery is broken.

Solution. Buy a new battery.

Lenovo phone won't charge

Why might my smartphone not charge? Problems with charging the phone are identical to those described in the previous paragraph about tablets. There is another option, more detailed information is provided below.

Operating system problem

Your Lenovo phone may not charge due to Android issues. In other words, the battery is charging, but the percentage of battery charge is not increasing.

Solution. You need to restart your smartphone or reflash it.

It takes a long time to charge a Lenovo tablet or phone

If the device takes twice as long to charge as usual, then there are several ways to solve the problem. The issue could be either the charger or the battery itself. Below we will also describe another solution to the problem.

Battery calibration

If your smartphone or tablet takes a long time to charge, you can try calibrating the battery. To do this you need to follow several steps:

  • Completely discharge the device so that it turns off.
  • Remove the battery from the device for a couple of minutes (if it is non-removable, then you can skip this step). Some experts advise keeping your phone on charge for 8 hours.
  • Fully charge the gadget.
  • Remove the battery from the switched off device for a few minutes, then insert it and turn on the device.

If you cannot solve problems with your phone or tablet on your own, then it is better to take the device to a service center.

You may have noticed that the demand for tablets is huge. You can judge this by the number of devices that we meet every day: people with tablets can be seen on the street, in public transport, in cafes... I won’t lie, this fact has not escaped me either - I am the owner of an inexpensive tablet from one of our little-known edges of the company. I can say that I obviously went too far with the size, because holding an almost 10-inch device in my hands is simply inconvenient. However, I will tell you about this some other time.

Today I would like to talk about one very common problem that a large number of users who use such devices face. Yes, I want to talk about why the tablet does not charge, since I myself have encountered this problem.

Causes of the problem

I'll start with this. Most often, the problem is encountered by those users who missed the moment when the device’s charge was worn out and did not charge it in time. I can say that it is not recommended to bring it to this state, since it is the complete discharge of the battery that has a detrimental effect on its service life. In addition, often after discharge the tablet refuses to charge.

  • The first and most common reason is a problem with the charger. Manufacturers try to save on everything and the charger is no exception. Low-quality “chargers” are found all the time. How do you know if the problem is with the charger? You need to connect the tablet to a known working “charger”. Here, however, everything can be individual. One of my “chargers” stopped charging the tablet one day. I thought that it was broken and connected it to a known working one - it charged. Okay, I thought, but I decided to check the original charger the next day - it functioned exactly the same as before. A few days later the situation repeated itself. Apparently, there is some problem in the “charger”, which, by the way, is still working. I just didn’t find out exactly what the problem was, and I didn’t try very hard, because I bought an additional charger just in case. This is probably due to the stabilizers or failure of the power supply circuit.
  • Problems in the electrical network, such as power surges, cannot be ignored. In this case, it is recommended to check the presence of voltage in the network. But I recommend doing this strictly to those users who at least work as electricians, otherwise such measurements can end very badly for you. Be careful!

  • In cases where there is voltage and the tablet still refuses to charge, you can try cleaning the contacts of both the charger and the tablet connector. Do this carefully so as not to damage the device.
  • If we talk about more mundane problems, then very often it turns out that when you initially connect the tablet to charger it refuses to charge, but if you leave it plugged in for at least a few hours, it magically starts charging. Therefore, first of all, keep the device charging longer.
  • Another category of users connects the gadget to the computer and complains that there is no charge. Should there be one? The fact is that not all devices can be charged from a computer, since they simply do not have enough power to do this.
  • If the tablet still has the ability to charge from a USB port, then there is a high probability that the port itself is faulty or is disabled.
  • Don't forget about the cable itself. If you have cats, dogs or other animals at home, it is likely that they managed to play with your charging cable, which as a result became unusable. In this case, only replacing it will help.

  • You may be surprised, but the problem may also be related to unstable firmware. Fortunately, this rarely happens, but I have heard about such cases more than once or even twice. Flashing to stable firmware can help, and through recovery mode (if, of course, it is possible to boot into it).
  • Theoretically, of course, there could be a problem with the hardware or battery, but in most cases the problem is related to the software. Therefore, before taking it to a service center, you need to try to revive it yourself, especially since this is often as easy as pie.

If your tablet is not charging, you can ask your questions through the comments. Just don't forget to indicate the make and model of your device, for example, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 or iPad Air.
