Do-it-yourself construction and repairs

Nissan Micra last year of production. Driving a car. Weaknesses of the Nissan Micra

Starting and stopping the engine, starting to move

Preparing for a car trip

Before getting into the car, make sure that its windows, mirrors and lights are clean. Check the condition of the wheels, look under the car and make sure there are no fluid leaks.

Check according to schedule Maintenance levels of engine fluids (engine oil, coolant and brake fluids), as well as the level of windshield washer fluid (see chapter Maintenance).

Once in the car, perform the following operations:

  • Close and lock all doors;
  • Adjust the position of the seat (see chapter Airbags (SRS)) and rear view mirrors;
  • Make sure that external lighting fixtures are working;
  • Check the operation of the devices;
  • When turning on the ignition, check the serviceability of the K/L located in the instrument cluster;
  • Fasten your seat belt and remind existing passengers to do so;
  • Release the parking brake and make sure that the corresponding K/L goes out.

Engine starting

First, make sure that the parking brake is fully engaged and all auxiliary systems are turned off.

On models with AT move the AT mode selector lever to position "P" and depress the brake pedal. On models with manual transmission Depress the clutch pedal. If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Key system, fully depress the brake pedal to move the ignition switch out of the LOCK position.

Turn the ignition key to the “START” position and hold it until the engine starts (but no more than 15 seconds), then release the ignition key - it should return to the “ON” position. When the starter is on, do not press the gas pedal, except in cases where the engine starts with difficulty at very low or very high temperatures, and also in the summer, when starting a warm engine within half an hour after turning it off.

If the engine stalls after attempting to start, repeat the above procedure again after waiting about 10 seconds. If the engine cannot be started, check the fuel pump fuse.

Let the engine idle for at least 30 seconds before driving. Until the engine warms up, avoid operating it at high speeds and under heavy load, especially in cold weather.

After a long period of high load on the engine, you should not turn it off immediately; first let it idle for a few minutes to avoid sudden temperature changes in different areas of the engine.

You can buy the Nissan Micra in more than 160 countries, and its popularity is growing at a very high rate. This is not surprising, because the new Nissan Micra, which has the prefix “V” - “versatile”, which means universal, has a lightweight, but at the same time very rigid platform and optimal control, regardless of road conditions. At the same time, the model also has high efficiency, which is quite relevant today.

Miniature size does not spoil the appearance of the Nissan Micra.

Unlike previous models, which were produced in Europe and Japan, the new product is produced in only 4 factories located in Mexico, China, India and Thailand. The European manufacturer will receive cars produced at the Indian plant in Chennai.

Well, let's not waste time, we are starting a test drive of Nissan Micra, a car with great ambitions and a balanced character.

Exterior of the new Nissan Micra

Nissan Micra looks equally attractive from all sides

The main task that the company's engineers and designers faced when developing this model was to preserve familiar lines, while simultaneously demonstrating progress and following all modern trends. The result is a rather interesting option - some parts, such as the radiator grille, are familiar to car enthusiasts and are recognizable literally at first sight. But the front and rear parts of the car are completely new. The solution is quite interesting and, undoubtedly, successful. Among the advantages remaining from its predecessors, it is also worth noting the excellent all-round visibility. High, slightly raised fenders make the dimensions easy to read, allow you to feel confident during city driving and provide excellent maneuverability while driving.

As for size, the Nissan Micra is an ideal car for the busy streets of a modern metropolis. Its length is only 3.78 m, width – 1.66 m, wheelbase – 2.45 m, height 1.52 m, curb weight – 975 kg. These dimensions allow you to feel confident in the most difficult situations and easily find a parking space, but at the same time they provide a very decent level of comfort for the passengers sitting inside.

Interior decoration

View of the Nissan Micra dashboard from the passenger seat

As for the interior design, here, despite the external simplicity, there is a certain style and harmony. The buttons and controls made in the form of “rounds” and “bubbles” are pleasing. The photo of the Nissan Micra shows that the design quite often contains elements of the so-called “toy” style - round panels, control keys on the steering wheel, control elements and much more. Door handles, whose non-standard shape pleases the eye and attracts attention, do not stand out from the general style.

In general, it is felt that when choosing a style, a choice was made for some semblance of “unisex” - women will certainly be delighted with such a design, and men will not turn away from it.

The central panel on the dashboard also looks great, having a round shape and featuring an excellent layout and thoughtful zoning. The information displayed on it about the status and settings of the climate control is easy to understand, and the controls are quite simple and intuitive.

The steering wheel in the car is comfortable, it is covered with leather and does not slip in the hand, and the controls are comfortable and easy.

View from the driver's seat of Nissan Micra

It is worth noting that the car has a very successful combination of black and white plastic used in the interior design. And although the materials cannot be called too expensive, they leave a fairly pleasant tactile sensation, and everything looks very good.

The interior of the Nissan Micra has become much larger and more spacious, which was achieved thanks to a slight increase in the wheelbase and thoughtful solutions when developing a new platform.

Equipment and reviews of the Nissan Micra

The Nissan Micra is available in three variants: Visia, Acenta and the top-end Tekna variant.

Even the initial package, Visia, offers a very impressive functional set, including:

ESP - vehicle stability control system, curtain airbags and front airbags for driver and passenger, electric power steering, remote central locking, steering column adjustment system, modern on-board computer and front windows.

The Acenta package, in addition to the above components, also offers: cruise control with a speed limiter, climate control with a convenient adjustment system and flexible settings, electric mirrors, a driver's seat with height adjustment and a front armrest. A nice addition is the modern entertainment system, with a CD player and Bluetooth adapter.

Let's take a look under the hood of the Nissan Micra

The Tekna package, as evidenced by Nissan Micra reviews, opens up truly unlimited possibilities for the owner. The main feature is the Nissan Connect multimedia system, with information and entertainment packages integrated into it. In addition, the following are available here: rain and light sensors, keyless access, an improved on-board computer, the “One-Button Start” function, folding mirrors, and an improved automatic parking system.

A pleasant surprise - intelligent system The car congratulates its owner on his birthday. It's a small thing, but nice.

Nissan Micra technical specifications and road behavior

Nissan Micra offers its fans a choice of one of the engines - a three-cylinder petrol with a volume of 1.2 liters and a power of 80 hp, or a turbocharged version with the same volume but a power of 98 hp. The declared technical characteristics of the Nissan Micra are so good that the company decided to abandon the use diesel engines. And this is by no means accidental, because their gasoline versions have very serious advantages: efficiency, low emissions, high torque.

The Micra offers two transmission options for the buyer to choose from - a 5-speed manual and a CVT. The first option shows excellent results, regardless of driving conditions - gear shifting is smooth and timely.

Nissan Micra video test drive

As for the second option, then, as the Nissan Micra video test drive shows, you need to get used to the CVT and get used to it. In fact, it is the world's first example of a continuously variable transmission, equipped with a sub-planetary gear system and the maximum gear ratio to date - 7.3: 1. This combination provides excellent response at low speeds, and at the same time high efficiency when driving quickly.

The car's improved suspension copes well with minor irregularities; those sitting in the cabin feel virtually no vibration. Even driving over a speed bump at a speed of about 80 km/h, the Nissan Micra “swallowed” almost painlessly. But this does not mean that you can fearlessly drive through the potholes that our roads are so rich in. The car is still worth taking care of.

Nissan Micra feels equally good both within the city and outside the city. Thanks to the latest system satellite navigation, which, moreover, has Russian localization, you can feel confident even in the most remote areas - Micra will not let you get lost. But you shouldn’t drive far from the highway; after all, this is not an SUV.

Nissan Micra: cost of ownership

Nissan Micra is pleased with the price. It’s amazing, but true: compared to its predecessors, the model not only did not become more expensive, but also significantly reduced the price. The European consumer has the right to count on the basic configuration of this car costing from 11,000 euros. This price will certainly appeal to domestic car enthusiasts who value comfort and safety at an affordable price.

Summarizing

The car leaves behind an extremely positive impression. The company's engineers did a great job, which made it possible to obtain a fairly high-quality product that meets all modern safety requirements and is made taking into account all modern trends in the automotive industry.

The age policy for this model is unusually wide - from adults, already established people who value a quiet ride, to young and active drivers who cannot imagine a trip without good multimedia support, which will be provided by Nissan Connect.

Nissan Micra - photos, technical specifications and prices. Reviews of the Nissan Micra by its owners.

The Nissan Micra is a series of compact front-wheel drive cars that are available as hatchbacks with three or five doors or as convertibles.

The first car of this family appeared in 1982 and was a three-door hatchback. In 1987, the world saw the five-door version. The second generation of this model, which differed only in minor changes, appeared five years later. But in 1997, a model with a folding roof was introduced.

The new Micra received three types of engines: two gasoline units with a volume of 1 and 1.3 liters, the power of which is 54 and 75 horsepower, respectively, and one diesel engine with a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 57 horsepower. The car was capable of reaching speeds of up to 170 km/h, which is quite a lot for such a miniature hatchback.

As for the latest generation of the model, it was created for lovers of avant-garde design. It is quite compact, and is considered the smallest car in the entire Nissan line. But him small size does not mean that there is little space inside the cabin.

Technical characteristics of Nissan Micra

In our market, the Nissan Micra is available with two gasoline engines of 1.2 and 1.4 liters, the power of which is 80 and 88 horsepower, respectively. The design of the engines includes a system responsible for changing the valve timing.

Three-door and five-door models are available for sale. The main configurations presented are Luxory and Comfort.

Due to its compactness, the Nissan Micra has fairly low fuel consumption. With mixed driving, both in the city and in the suburban sector, consumption is about 5.9 liters per hundred (1.2 liter engine), and when equipped with a 1.4 liter engine, the figure exceeds 6 liters per 100 km.

The braking system of the Nissan Micra is quite reliable. It provides fast and smooth braking using electronic brake force distribution. The car is also equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an emergency braking system (Nissan Brake Assist).

The car itself has many auxiliary systems. Among them are high-quality power steering, fail-safe security systems, unique chip keys, all kinds of sensors, in general, everything that is inherent in more expensive Nissan models.

The main feature of the Micra is its "resourcefulness". The turning radius of this car is only 4.5 meters. This gives the car the opportunity to “get out” in any situation on the road, and there are no problems with parking.

This car has many advantages. Firstly, he has an original appearance, which makes him unique. Secondly, the car is very easy to drive and behaves correctly when cornering, without unnecessary movements. Thirdly, given its dimensions, there is a lot of space inside the cabin in the front row of seats for both driver and passenger, although the rear seats are a little lacking in space. Fourthly, it is perfectly adapted to city driving, as evidenced by its low fuel consumption. But the most important advantage is excellent service in Russia. The service of this car deserves the highest praise.

By the way, the presence of a chip key is a very convenient function, especially for ladies who are constantly looking for the necessary thing, even in small bags. In order to start the Micra, all you need is a key in the car and nothing else.

Although the Nissan Micra also has disadvantages. The harsh suspension is a little confusing, forcing you to “crawl” over bumps on the road. As already mentioned, the rear seats are greatly neglected. Sometimes, after a certain time of using the car, a slight rattling of the glass is noticed - although this defect can be easily corrected at any service center.

Nissan Micra configurations and prices in Russia

Drawing a line under all the above facts, we can draw a definite conclusion that the Nissan Micra is a fairly pleasant car in its class. Its design will certainly lift your spirits. This car is perfect for the fair sex. The small size of the car allows you to immediately feel all the dimensions and calmly park even in difficult situations. Micra will make any woman fall in love with it, thanks to its ease of operation, predictability and a variety of colors.

As for prices on the Russian market, they vary depending on the configuration. For example, the most affordable Comfort package can be purchased for 440 thousand rubles. But the Luxory package, where “all inclusive”, starts at 575 thousand rubles.

Nissan March/Micra) has its own unique style that cannot be confused with any other. The name of this car fully corresponds to its size; the design of this small car is funny and is intended mainly for a female audience. The main advantage of this little car is that it does not have a large number of electronic systems and complex solutions, so its cost is not high. Now let’s try to figure out what to expect from this small and inexpensive car, and what to look for when buying a used third-generation Nissan Micra on the secondary market.

A little history:

The first generation of this model debuted in 1982. At first, the car was available only as a three-door hatchback; a five-door version appeared on the market in 1987. The debut of the second generation took place in 1992. This version was in good demand almost from the start of sales and lasted on the assembly line for 11 years, more than once becoming the best-selling car in its class (more than 2.5 million cars were sold). The third generation of the car debuted in 2002 at the Paris Auto Show. Compared to its predecessor, the current Micra has become shorter by 21 mm, but wider by 65 mm; also, the car has grown by 100 mm, and the wheelbase has been increased by 70 mm. Thus, the reduction in the length of the car did not come at the expense of interior volume, but due to the front and rear overhangs.

The design of the car was developed by Japanese designers and engineers, but the interior was developed by European designers from the studio. In its homeland, the car is sold under a different name - Nissan March. Despite its compact size, the car is quite roomy, plus, the car has good comfort and handling. In 2005, a charged version of the Nissan Micra “160SR” with a 1.6-liter engine (113 hp) appeared on the market. Also, based on this version, a convertible coupe was created. During its time on the market, the car was updated several times, but the most significant restyling took place in 2007 - the design changed slightly, equipment was added that was not previously available for this model. For the European market, the car is assembled in the UK. In 2010, the fourth generation of the model premiered at the Geneva International Motor Show.

Reliability of Nissan Micra with mileage

The body of the Nissan Micra withstands our winters and copes with the onslaught of the red disease without any problems. The only thing you can find fault with is the thickness of the metal; here it is quite thin and bends even with slight contact. Also, not famous for its durability and paintwork As a result, chips and scratches on the car body are a common occurrence. Before purchasing, be sure to check the condition of the exhaust system; the fact is that it does not have good anti-corrosion protection and quickly becomes covered with rust.

Engines

Officially, in the CIS countries, the third generation Nissan Micra was sold only with gasoline power units - 1.0 (65 hp), 1.2 (65, 80 hp), 1.4 (80, 88 hp) and, mentioned earlier, 1.6 (113 hp). On the European market you can find Micra with a 1.5 liter diesel engine. You need to take the purchase of a car with the most powerful engine very seriously, since such an engine turns this small car practically into a sports car, which is not bought for a quiet and careful ride. Also, you need to be careful when buying a car with a diesel engine. The fact is that this type of power unit has a very sensitive fuel system, and, as you know, our diesel fuel quality is far from ideal. Because of this, owners of such cars often experience failure of fuel injectors, injection pumps and EGR valves.

All power units are quite reliable and are equipped with a timing chain drive, the chain resource is quite long - 200-250 thousand km. But the chain tensioner will most likely have to be replaced at a mileage of 100-150 thousand km (replacing the chain and tensioner will cost 200-300 USD). The first signal about the need to replace the tensioner and chain will be a metallic rattling sound during a cold start of the engine. If you are not sure that you can identify this malfunction yourself, ask the service center to check the chain tension level at each maintenance. Also, the thermal clearances of the valves should be regularly checked, as they are mechanically adjusted. The disadvantages of gasoline engines include the short service life of the throttle valve unit (it cannot be repaired and can be replaced entirely), leaking oil seals and failure of the crankshaft position sensor. Replacing spark plugs is expensive; replacing them requires removing the exhaust manifold. The fuel filter is designed together with the fuel pump, and it is not possible to replace them separately.

On high-mileage vehicles, the engine runs unstable; often, the problem lies in clogged fuel injectors (cleaning is required). If the idle speed starts to fluctuate, most likely the idle speed sensor needs to be replaced. Today, these engines are no longer young, and many of them have more than 100,000 km of mileage, therefore, most of them begin to eat up oil. You need to fill the glass washer fluid very carefully, as there is a high risk of filling the generator, in the best case the belt will whistle, in the worst case the generator will short out. Squeaking can also occur when sand and dirt get on the belt. Many mechanics mistakenly think that the belt has stretched and tighten it, which, as a result, leads to the skew of the tension pulley bracket.

Transmission

The Nissan Micra was equipped with one of two types of gearboxes – a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic. Both transmissions are quite reliable and rarely present unpleasant surprises to their owners. Investments in mechanics are required on average once every 120-150 thousand km, which is how long the clutch kit lasts. Closer to 200,000 km, it may be necessary to replace the third gear synchronizer (be sure to turn it on during a test drive) and oil seals. The only exceptions can be cars with a 1.6 engine; in such a duo, the transmission life depends on driving style. An automatic transmission, with timely maintenance (oil change every 60,000 km) and careful operation, will last 200-250 thousand km.

Weaknesses of the Nissan Micra

The Nissan Micra's suspension has a fairly simple design: a MacPherson strut is installed at the front and a beam at the rear. If the car is used in normal city driving, intervention in the chassis is rarely required. One of the advantages of this suspension is that most of the spare parts come from, which are slightly cheaper than for Mikra. If we talk about the reliability of the suspension, then, most often, they require replacement of the stabilizer strut and bushing, on average, once every 50-70 thousand km. Shock absorbers and support bearings last a little longer - 80-100 thousand km. The front control arms will last approximately the same amount, 90-110 thousand km. The remaining suspension consumables, with careful operation, last 100-150 thousand km.

The rear suspension can last more than 150,000 km without repair; the only thing you should pay attention to is the condition of the rubber bushings, boots and silent blocks of the beam. One of the weak points of the steering mechanism is the electric power steering. The fact is that the amplifier has a short lifespan and can only be replaced as an assembly with the steering column, and this is not a cheap pleasure (about 500 USD, for a used one they ask from 200 USD). Brake pads enough, on average, for 30-40 thousand km, disks - for 70,000 km. To extend the service life of discs, many mechanics recommend lubricating the caliper guides when replacing pads.

Salon

Despite the simplicity of the interior design of the Nissan Micra, the finishing materials used here are of fairly good quality, thanks to which, even on cars older than 10 years, extraneous noise and squeaks rarely bother you. Basically, the source of noise in the cabin is the play of the front door glass (this defect cannot be treated). The only comment on quality finishing materials touches the steering wheel braid, it wears out very quickly. Owners often complain about the fragility of power windows, the ignition switch (the key gets stuck in the “start” position) and the trunk doors. In addition, many copies experience malfunctions in the airbag control system, and moisture appears in the rear light contact connector.

Result:

Today, one of the best and most affordable options on the secondary market among cars for city trips.

If you are the owner of this car model, please describe the problems that you encountered while using the car. Perhaps your review will help the readers of our site when choosing a car.

Best regards, editor AutoAvenue

What should be the ideal city car for a woman? Fast. Convenient. Reliable. And, of course, cute. Japanese companies know how to create cars that can please even the capricious representatives of the fair sex, and the Nissan company is no exception. Subcompact cars Nissan Micra & March are the standards of cars that are considered “feminine” even if the driver is a man: they are small and charming. But we have to find out how fast, convenient and reliable they are.

Nissan Micra (Nissan Micra). At the end of 2013, Micra underwent restyling and changed significantly in appearance, unfortunately losing its charming individuality. In addition, the foreign car, unfortunately, is not intended for sale through the showrooms of official dealers. Therefore, let's indulge in nostalgia and remember what it is like, the universally recognizable Nissan Micra of 2007-2010. Let's start, as always, with the parameters.

Technical characteristics of the subcompact Nissan Micra

As you can see, there is nothing unusual in the dimensions of the car: they correspond to the average values for all small cars. Ground clearance and power are also unremarkable. True, fuel consumption in the city is unpleasantly high, but the trunk is very pleasing with its relatively decent size.

Nissan March. If you've never heard of this subcompact, don't blame yourself for ignorance: it was released in Japan and intended for domestic sales. However, connoisseurs of the original in the ordinary and those who are not afraid of right-hand drive still managed to bring “March” into the “European world”. Let's take a look at what the Japanese choose for their loved ones.

Technical characteristics of the subcompact Nissan March (Nissan March)

In general, there are no significant differences visible. The dimensions of the March and Micra are almost identical, but there is no difference in trunk volume. True, the Japanese, who worship technical progress, did not bother producing a car with a manual transmission and settled on an “automatic”, significantly reducing the car’s efficiency.

Review. Externally, the Micra and the March are practically no different: the same rounded lines of the roof, fenders, hood and trunk, perky round headlights and elegant longitudinal rear lights. The color scheme is also the same for both subcompacts. Manufacturers rightly decided that a small car should be bright, so along with the classic white, black, gray and silver colors, the line also includes bright yellow, scarlet, orange and sky blue. Although some March cars also boast an amazing pearl pink hue.

Salon. In the interior, small cars have exactly as many differences as there can be in left-hand drive and right-hand drive cars. But everything is the same: nice white buttons for adjusting the stove or air conditioner, simple design of the audio system and rich orange lighting of the instruments. True, March has a vintage White background dashboard, and technical equipment it has a more modern one: it boasts a key card, a connector for connecting a digital player and even a satellite navigator. But they obviously screwed up the steering wheel adjustment: it really lacks reach.
The interiors of both babies are comfortable, but only for those sitting in front: the rear passengers will have to sigh and tuck their legs. Although the car is positioned as a five-seater, it is obvious that at least three seats are for children. And now - let's go.

Test Drive. Both cars cope with acceleration, maneuvers and parking with five points, so it is extremely difficult to choose a favorite. However, the complaints about the Micra and March are the same: extremely low noise insulation and strong sensitivity to air flows, as well as not very stable behavior when cornering. “March” can also be criticized for its suspension: a car designed for impeccable Japanese roads, finding itself in harsh Russian conditions, begins to desperately act up, instantly reacting to any road irregularity with knocks, shaking and a blood-curdling grinding sound. “Micra” behaves much calmer in this regard.

Safety. But in terms of safety, both cars are rather weak. Maybe “March”, created for a country where traffic rules are carefully observed, can be forgiven for such negligence, but with “Micra” it is surprising. The developers equipped the car with two front airbags, but did not test the car according to EURONCAP, perhaps remembering the sad experience of 2003, when the Nissan Micra earned a dismal two stars in tests.

Conclusions. The relatives of the March and Micra are good city cars, designed for a quiet ride on well-maintained city streets and convenient parking in busy places. It doesn’t make much sense to talk about which of them should be preferred - they are a mirror image of each other. Contrary to popular belief that right-hand drive cars are cheaper, the cost of both Nissans is approximately the same and ranges from 270 thousand rubles for a 2007 model to a hefty 380 thousand rubles for a 2010 model. However, if you want to buy a bright, noticeable and nimble car, such expenses are completely justified.
