Assessment of OGE social studies. Preparing for the OGE. Checking OGE exam papers

The OGE is an exam that 9th grade graduates will have to take in the 2017-2018 academic year. Students of schools, gymnasiums and lyceums must demonstrate their level of knowledge in 5 subjects, two of which will be compulsory (Russian language and mathematics), and three will be asked to choose from the proposed list of disciplines.

We invite all ninth-graders, their teachers and parents to understand the following issues in more detail:

  • What does the OGE score affect?
  • How are scores converted into school grades?
  • What should those who have not passed the minimum OGE threshold do?

The attitude of schoolchildren and parents towards final assessments is ambiguous. The need to prepare for a large number of subjects frankly frightens secondary school students, as does the prospect of being left without a long-awaited educational document. Is all this really so scary?

Before you panic, it’s worth understanding these truths:

  • The exam includes questions that are included in the standard curriculum of secondary education and are mandatory for study in all secondary schools in the Russian Federation.
  • Threshold passing score for compulsory subjects it is really “minimum”. It is more than possible to overcome it even for a child with an average level of academic achievement.
  • The exam format is softer than in the 11th grade. Students take the OGE within the walls of their home school and, naturally, it is not interested in low results.

If everything is so rosy and easy, then a logical question arises - why are exams needed in the 9th grade at all? The ministry explains that the OGE is not only about monitoring the level of knowledge of students, but also about monitoring the quality of teachers’ work. Knowing that exams are ahead, both children and teachers are educational process more responsible.

OGE points and five-point assessment

For translate primary points A special compliance scale will be used in the grades obtained by students when performing examination work in a specific subject within the framework of the OGE 2018. This scale has been developed for each of the 14 academic subjects:

If the scale for converting points for the OGE 2018 seems too complicated, you can use special online systems to interpret the results and find out. What grades did you finish 9th grade with? Here is one such calculator:

When entering specialized classes, FIPI recommends taking the following minimum primary scores in OGE subjects as the passing threshold:

Who will be able to retake the OGE in 2018

The scale presented to your attention for converting primary OGE scores into assessment for 2018 shows that the probability of “failing the exam,” although negligibly small, still exists.

If for any reason (and there can be many of them, both psychological and physical), the student was unable to write the OGE with the minimum score, he will get another attempt. A 9th grade graduate may even have several such attempts.

Ninth-graders in 2018 will have a chance to correct a mistake provided that no more than 2 subjects are passed unsatisfactorily. If a grade of “2” is given for more than 3 OGE exams, the graduate will not receive the right to retake and will be forced to take a time-out for a year to better prepare for the final tests.

For many, the OGE is the first serious test, but why is it necessary? The main state exam is needed to assess the student’s knowledge over the past nine years of study, this is clear to everyone. Good results in passing this exam are a guarantee for admission to a specialized tenth grade, technical school, college or other secondary specialized educational institution.

The system of passing such exams is no longer new, but the translation of OGE scores into conventional grades still raises many questions. The article will help you figure out what grades will allow you to successfully pass the exam and enter specialized institutions.

State certification

It was the introduction of the OGE and the Unified State Exam into the educational system that made it possible to abolish entrance exams to universities and technical schools. The entire system is based on a single scale for converting Unified State Examination points, thanks to which the final grade is obtained. But how do you figure it out?

Educational institutions set their own OGE passing score for admission to various areas of study. If the student’s score exceeds the passing level established by the institution, the applicant will be enrolled as a student.

In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation establishes certain gradations for applicants, therefore the Main State Exam is conducted in accordance with the established requirements.

A passing OGE score makes it possible to understand whether the student was able to pass the certification or failed the exam, whether the student has mastered the theoretical minimum of the school course or whether he will have to re-take the course in 9th grade. In turn, the passing threshold for the OGE, established by a secondary specialized educational institution, makes it possible to determine whether the applicant will be enrolled in the ranks of students of this institution.

A little history

Exams in the form of the Unified State Examination and the Unified State Examination have long become familiar to Russian schoolchildren. However, their form, rules and conditions are periodically changed and adjusted. Graduate students, in order not to inadvertently miss important innovations, have to constantly monitor information about updates in the system.

The exam in the form of the Unified State Exam was first held for eleventh grades in 2001. But at that time, the experiment was carried out only in five areas and only in eight disciplines. By 2008, exams in this form began to be held throughout the country and in almost all subjects.

Transition to tenth grade

To further continue your studies at school, you also need to pass the OGE. To move to tenth grade, a student will have to pass two compulsory subjects (Russian language and mathematics), and in addition to them, two additional ones to choose from. And if last year it was allowed to limit oneself to only two academic disciplines, then this year a ninth-grader must pass four exams.

To enter classes with one or another educational focus, you will need to prepare for certification in the main subject of the profile. For example, those entering the tenth grade with a legal background are forced to take an exam in social studies and history, with linguistics - foreign language, and so on.

The modern education system gives every right to undergo certification in almost any discipline mastered during the period of study. By the way, deciding on a major for graduates is often difficult. This is where difficulties arise with choosing special items.

Admission to technical school

The passing OGE score for admission to a technical school is calculated in the same way. Two main subjects are required - Russian language and mathematics. This academic year, they added two more mandatory exams in disciplines that applicants can choose independently. Those entering technical schools for economic specialties additionally take social studies, and the medical field - chemistry and biology.

There is also the possibility of admission to technical schools for those who did not pass the Unified State Examination after the eleventh grade. In this case, enrollment is based on the results of the OGE exam and, as a rule, immediately into the second year of study.

Eleventh grade graduates upon admission to a technical school are usually accepted immediately into the second year, because the first year of secondary specialized education, as a rule, is devoted exclusively to school programs.

How are points calculated?

The main state exam is mandatory for everyone, but not everyone knows how to correctly calculate their results. The passing OGE score for admission is a certain criterion of knowledge and a guideline in the student’s aspirations.

The minimum criteria for passing the exam are approved for each year. Based on them, a system is established for converting points into the usual marks on a five-point scale. However, they play a role in deciding whether a student has passed the exam, but not in admission. To admit a student, the technical school admissions committee takes into account the passing or average passing grade.

How to calculate the OGE score?

Each educational institution sets its own lower grade thresholds for admitting students. As a rule, the arithmetic average of the certificate grades and (or) the total result of the OGE is taken as the basis. Depending on the maximum indicator approved in the current year, the minimum passing score for admission is set.

Converting OGE points into grades

The school converts the final indicator into a grade on an approved scale. The result obtained affects the grade in the student’s certificate. This translation is of a recommendatory nature. The following data was approved for 2017:

1. The minimum OGE score, that is, the maximum score for passing the Russian language exam, is 15, the maximum is 39.

A student will receive a mark of “two” if he scores only 14 points or less. “satisfactory” starts from 15, “good” - from 25 and “excellent” - from 34. Despite the fact that to get a B, you need to score at least 4 points for literacy and at least 6 to earn an A.

2. OGE in mathematics. The passing score for passing this exam is 8. To get a C in this discipline, you must score at least 3 points in algebra and 2 points in geometry and real mathematics.

The maximum possible score for this exam is 32 points, which includes 14, 11 and 7 points in Algebra, Geometry and Real Mathematics respectively.

Starting from the minimum passing threshold and up to 14 - the score is "three", from 15 points scored and up to 21 - "four", and 22-32 - "excellent".

When entering specialized institutions, applicants whose score is at least 18 are considered.

3. In physics, you can score a maximum of 40 points. A well-deserved three is at least 10. To earn a four, you need to score at least 20, and for a five - from 31 points.

4. The maximum result of the chemistry exam is 34. A three is guaranteed for nine points scored, a “four” for 18-26, and a “five” for 27 and above.

23 points is the minimum for applicants to specialized institutions.

In addition, the chemistry exam includes a part with a real experiment, which is also scored. The maximum result in this part of the exam is 38, the passing threshold is 9. For an “excellent” mark, you need to score 29 points, and for a “B”, from 19 to 28 is enough. The acceptable minimum is 25 points.

5. When preparing to take biology, a student should know that the passing grade for a technical school is 33 points. A graduate who scores from 13 to 25 points on the relevant exam will receive a three, and a five - from 37 to 46.

6. The minimum for geography is 12 points, but this will not be enough for admission to specialized institutions. In this case, the passing score of the OGE must be at least 24. To pass with “excellent” means scoring from 27 to 32, and with “good” - from 20 to 26.

7. For the social studies exam, the following translation is used:

  • 15-24 - “satisfactory”;
  • 25-33 - “good”;
  • 24-39 - “excellent”.

30 points is the minimum for those who have chosen to study in this area.

8. Prospective students who have chosen history as their major discipline must score 32 points for admission. For everyone else, the history grade is determined according to the following scheme:

  • 13-23 - “three”;
  • 24-34 - “four”;
  • 35-44 - "five".

9. To get a C for a literature exam, it is enough to score from 7 to 13 points, 14-18 for a B and at least 19 for an “excellent” grade. Only applicants who score at least 15 are considered to continue their studies in the field.

10. The computer science exam is graded in the range from 5 to 22 points, where up to 11 inclusive is a three, up to 17 inclusive is a four, respectively 18-22 is a grade of five.

11. Foreign language exam (can be French, Spanish, English and German) - the most extensive. The maximum possible score for it is 70. The minimum threshold is 28. In addition:

  • 29-45 - rating "three"
  • 46-58 - rating "four"
  • 59-70 - rating "five".

The minimum score for applicants in the field is 56.

How to calculate the passing score for the OGE?

Everything is simple here too. It is enough to know the approved standards for converting points into grades and your results.

Upon admission, as a rule, two indicators are formed from OGE scores and grades. The first is the average score of the certificate grades. It is calculated as an arithmetic mean, that is, the sum of all grades is divided by the number of items. The second indicator is the overall result of passing the state exam, that is, the sum of all points scored. More often it is given as a percentage, which is calculated from the total maximum result.

A reasonable question arises: does the OGE affect the grades on the certificate? Yes, it does. The grade obtained based on the exam results is summed with the annual grade received and divided by two. When rounding, elementary laws of mathematics apply. Thus, if the annual grade in the subject is “four”, and the exam is passed with “five”, then the arithmetic mean will be 4.5, which, in turn, should be rounded to five. The graduate's certificate will show "excellent".

Unified State Exam

How many points do you need to score on the Unified State Exam?

The evaluation system of the Unified State Exam does not differ from the evaluation system of the OGE. The minimum passing threshold is set by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and institutions themselves formulate selection criteria, including how many points you need to score on the Unified State Exam for admission. Consequently, whether there are enough points for a C grade is decided by the state, and whether it is enough for admission is decided by educational institutions.

Validity period for exam results

All exams have a period during which their results will be valid. For students taking the Unified State Exam in 2017, this period will be limited to four years. Thus, the points received are valid until May 2021.

If you do not have time to submit documents for the next four years, you will have to take the exam again to be admitted. The validity periods for the results of the Unified State Exam are the same as for the Unified State Exam. Good luck to everyone passing the exams!

The Main State Exam (OGE) is a test facing every ninth grader! The exam is mandatory for all high school graduates, but ninth-graders who want to continue their education in college prepare especially diligently for it, because for admission they must demonstrate high level knowledge and, if possible, get the highest possible score.

It's time for future graduates to learn as much as possible about how exam papers are checked, and what the scale for converting OGE test scores into traditional assessments will be in 2019.

What will the OGE look like in 2019?

If the Unified State Exam reform is practically completed by 2019 and no fundamental changes are expected in KIMs for 11th graders, then the Unified State Examination is just entering the reform stage. In the past 2017-2018 academic year, the number of subjects submitted for final certification was once again increased, and in 2019 students will have to take a total of 5 exams:

  • 2 compulsory: Russian language and mathematics;
  • 3 to choose from such disciplines as: physics, chemistry, history, computer science, foreign language, social studies, biology, geography and literature.

There is no official information about the introduction of the 6th exam yet. But previously it was said that by 2020 the total number of subjects taken will reach six.

The choice of a specialized subject should not be random, because the result of the General Examination directly affects the grade in the certificate and is the main criterion for selection into specialized classes.

Checking OGE exam papers

In 2019, ninth-graders from all regions of the Russian Federation will perform the same tasks, because, unlike in previous years, today the process of developing a single bank of tasks that will allow assessing the real level of students’ knowledge is actively underway.

As in 2018, 9th grade graduates will write their papers on the basis of their educational institution, which significantly increases the chances of a good result. The examination of OGE exam papers, as before, will be carried out by school teachers who have sufficient qualifications to become a State Examination Expert.

By analogy with the Unified State Exam, all work will be checked by two experts. If the opinions of experts differ significantly, then a third expert will be involved in the verification process, whose opinion will become decisive.

If a student does not agree with the experts’ assessment, he can file an appeal and the work will be re-checked again, but by completely different experts who are members of the appeal commission.

During the test, initial points are awarded for each correctly completed task, which are then converted into the usual 5-point grade for schoolchildren.

Point conversion scale

Although the Federal State Budgetary Institution “FIPI” has developed a single standardized scale for converting primary OGE scores into grades, in 2019 (as before) other standards may be officially approved at the local level, taking into account regional characteristics.

Thus, for 2018, the following score conversion tables were approved, which with a high degree of probability will be relevant in the 2018-2019 academic year.

After reviewing the document, you can see that when assigning grades in Russian language and mathematics (all levels), not only the overall total score is taken into account.

So, in Russian to get a grade:

  • “4” you need to score at least 4 points for literacy with 25-33 total points;
  • “5” – at least 6 points for literacy with 34-39 total.

Special requirements for assessing works in mathematics are dictated by the fact that two subjects are taken for the exam: algebra and geometry. Accordingly, the student must not only reach the minimum threshold, but demonstrate a certain level of knowledge in each of the main school disciplines in the mathematics course.

The threshold for entry into specialized classes and colleges also differs depending on the chosen direction:

Russian language

Mathematics

(naturally scientific and economic profile)

Mathematics

(physics and mathematics profile)

Social science

Computer science

Literature

Foreign language

Biology

Geography

The general table for interpreting OGE test scores in all subjects in 2019 will look like:

Residents of regions where in 2019, when determining the results of the OGE, the recommended unified scale for transferring points for those completing 9th grade is taken as a basis, can also use a convenient online calculator, which can be found on the website 4ege.ru.

Retake the OGE

In 2018, more than 1.3 million ninth-graders took the OGE, most of whom passed the tests without any problems. But, as always, there are those who received an “unsatisfactory” rating. What awaits these ninth graders? There are several options for the development of events:

  1. A retake, which is open to students who have no more than 2 unsatisfactory results.
  2. Break of length academic year, during which the student gets the opportunity to better prepare for the exam (possibly by individually studying with teachers).

A system for assessing the performance of individual tasks and the examination work as a whole.

Correctly completed work is scored 39 points.

Each correctly completed task 1–21, 23–25 is scored 1 point.

Task 22 is scored according to the following principle: 2 points – no errors; 1 point – one mistake was made; 0 points – two or more mistakes were made.

Part 2 tasks are graded depending on the completeness and correctness of the answer. For complete and correct execution tasks 26–28, 30 and 31 are awarded 2 points. If the answer is incomplete – 1 point.

For complete and correct completion of task 29, 3 points are awarded. In case of incomplete completion, depending on the representation of the required components of the answer - 2 or 1 point.

Thus, for completing the tasks of Part 2 (correct and complete formulation of answers to all six questions), the examinee can receive a maximum of 13 points.
