How can I thank the Almighty for a joyful event in my life? How Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) expressed gratitude to Allah

Your inability to express gratitude to Allah Almighty in a worthy manner.

As Junayd (may his soul be holy) said about it: “Gratitude is not considering oneself deserving a benefit. The essence of gratitude is not just to notice the good. It consists in accepting the blessings bestowed by Allah with humility and the awareness that only Almighty Allah bestows blessings.”

It is also said: “Gratitude is the knowledge in the heart of what Allah has bestowed with this benefit, and the utterance of appropriate words of gratitude and praise.”

Gratitude is a blessing from Allah

Know that gratitude itself comes from Allah Almighty. If Allah had not given you the ability to express gratitude to Him, you would not be able to do it yourself.

One of the pious people, turning to Allah, said: “Oh my Allah, how can I express gratitude to You when my gratitude is another benefit from You!” Allah then inspired him: “Now you have shown Me true gratitude.”

When the prophet Musa (peace be upon him) turned to Allah: “O Lord, You created Adam (peace be upon him) and endowed him with such and such benefits, how did he thank him for this?” The Almighty replied: “He learned that all these benefits were from Me, and recognizing this was his gratitude to Me.”

Only Allah Almighty is worthy of gratitude and praise

Pious people have taken a vow to show gratitude to Allah when He bestows them with benefits and when He does not bestow them. The righteous - the wards of the Almighty - entrusted themselves to the Creator. And Allah is greater than to betray a slave who trusted Him.

Also, the righteous should not reveal any meritorious quality of theirs except as a sign of gratitude to Allah Almighty or so that others follow them in this. In other cases, pious people hide all their meritorious qualities and do it for the sake of Allah. They do not speak at various meetings because of shame and fear that people will praise them in this world. But only Allah Almighty deserves praise*.

Imam al-Ghazali (may his soul be holy) explains that praise brings great harm to the person being praised. Praise gives rise to pride and a high opinion of himself. And sometimes he rejoices at this praise, and this spoils his good deeds.

Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If you see those who praise people, throw earth at their faces.”

They also say: “When you are praised, remember that you are made of clay, show modesty and do not admire yourself because of the praise.”

Our master Abul-Hasan al-Shazali (may his soul be holy) noted: “When the Almighty wants good for a slave, He hides from him the perfection of his nafs. The Creator turns him into His pure, sincere slave, in whom none of the qualities worthy only of Allah Almighty is manifested.”

The slave must renounce everything that the nafs is accustomed to from knowledge and knowledge, even if it is knowledge of the secret (kashf) or a special spiritual state (hal). If Allah Almighty chose him and is pleased with him as His slave, then what can harm him, even if he has neither knowledge nor good deeds?

Theological scholars say that the most gratitude to the Almighty is the expression of gratitude with the tongue. There is no weaker person than one who does not express verbal gratitude. Such gratitude should be comprehensive.

The highest degree of verbal gratitude for the benefits bestowed by the Creator is the reading by a slave of Surah al-Fatiha. While reading it, let the believer intend to express gratitude for all the blessings of Allah Almighty: obvious and secret, material and spiritual, known to the slave and unknown, relating to both earthly and eternal life, which he has already received and which he will receive, permanent and given for a while . With this intention, let a person read this surah, if possible, from one to a hundred times. Whoever does this will be recorded by the Almighty among those who show gratitude. Either as a reward, this slave will receive even more benefits in accordance with his intention and according to the promise of Allah.

There are many ways to express comprehensive verbal gratitude. An example of such gratitude is the following words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “O Lord, I cannot thank You as You deserve. You are as You praise Yourself.”

Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) said: “O Lord, You taught me how to earn food with my own hands**, so teach me what includes all praise and praise.” Then Allah Almighty sent down a revelation to him: “O Adam, every day in the morning and evening say three times: “Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil alamin, hamdan yuwafi niamahu vayukafiu mazidahu” (“I give praise to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, which covers all His blessings and corresponds to their increase by Him"). These words contain all types of praise and glorification.”

The difference between a grateful (shakir) and a very grateful (shakur) slave is that a shakir thanks for what the Almighty has given him, and a shakur for the fact that Allah has deprived him of something.

Verily, for every good there is a corresponding gratitude. Gratitude for the eyes - lowering your gaze at the sight of the forbidden and shortcomings of people. Gratitude for the ears - do not listen about people's shortcomings, for the hands - do not extend them to other people's property. Gratitude for the feet is to hold them so that they do not step where the commandments of the Almighty are violated. The same applies to other parts of the body.

The essence of gratitude is that you use the blessings God has given you in accordance with their purpose. This includes property, the body, and external and internal organs. Therefore, when you use any of these benefits in a way that is not in accordance with what it was created for, it will be ingratitude for that benefit.

Praising Allah in all conditions

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that the first to enter Paradise will be people who praise Allah in all conditions. Another legend says:“Those who praise Allah in joy and in sorrow.”Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)also said: “The words “al-hamdulillah”are a manifestation of gratitude for all blessings.”

It is said that as-Sariy as-Sakati (may his soul be holy) said: “For thirty years now I have been asking forgiveness from Allah for the words “praise be to Allah” that I once uttered.” They asked him: “How is this?” He replied: “There was a big fire in Baghdad. I met a certain person who told me: “Your shop survived.” Then I said: “Praise be to Allah.” And for thirty years I have regretted these words, because I wanted to benefit myself when other Muslims suffered.”

They say that Hasan ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), stopping at the corner of the Kaaba, turned to Allah with the words: “Oh my Allah, You have given me blessings, but I have not shown gratitude. You tested me with troubles, but I did not show patience. You did not deprive me of blessings because of ingratitude and did not send me troubles because of impatience. O Lord, from the generous comes nothing but generosity ».

If some joyful event occurs in a person’s life, or a person gains goodness, or he is saved from trouble, then in this case one should give praise to Allah Almighty, for if a person gives praise, then he receives even more benefits from Allah Almighty, as He Koran said:

لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِى لَشَدِيدٌ

(meaning): " If you are grateful for My blessings, I will multiply these blessings for you. And if you are ungrateful for My blessings (that is, if you deny them and hide them, then) truly, My punishment is severe “- that is, Allah will deprive them of these benefits and punish them for denial and ingratitude for these benefits. (Sura Ibrahim, 7; “Tafsir Ibn Kathir”)

As for bowing to the ground as a sign of gratitude to Allah Almighty (sujud shukri), it is narrated from Abu Bakrat (may Allah be pleased with him):

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسلم إذا جاء الشئ يُسَرُّ بِهِ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا شُكْرًا لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

« Having received any good news, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at the same moment bowed to the ground " (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi)

Performing sujud shukri is desirable when a person receives good news, when Allah Almighty gives him grace or in other similar cases.

In his book " Minhaj al-Talibin” writes the following about this:

« Sujud shukri is not included in the prayer (that is, it is not done during the prayer). It is advisable to do Sujud Shukri when a person receives ni’mat (grace) from Allah Almighty, or when he is saved from some kind of trouble, or when he sees a person who has suffered a misfortune, or a person committing a sin. It is also advisable to show the performance of sujud shukri to the sinner and hide it from the person who has suffered misfortune. Sujud shukri is performed in the same way as sujud at-tilava (prostration for reading the Koran)».

Imam An-Nawawi describes how sajd at-tilawa is performed in the same book as follows:

« Anyone who performs Sujud at-Tilawa outside of prayer should first of all intend to perform Sujud at-Tilawa, then, raising his hands, say “Allahu Akbar.” Next, he should say “Allahu Akbar” again while bending, but this time he does not raise his hands. Next, one should perform sajdah in the same way as he does it in prayer. Then he gets up, saying “Allahu Akbar", and gives salam.

The recitation of “takbirat al-ihram” (introductory “Allahu Akbar”) with which the sujud begins is one of its conditions, according to a strong (sahih) opinion in Shafi'i madhhab, also salam (is one of its conditions), according to a strong (azhar) opinion. For one who performs sajd at-tilava (also sajd shukri), it is obligatory to comply with all the conditions that are necessary for performing namaz.”

Minhaj al-Talibin"; Head of Sajdah at-Tilawa)

As we understood from the above text from the book “Minhaj at-Talibin”, Sujud at-Tilawa is performed both during prayer and outside it, but, unlike Sujud at-Tilawa, Sujud Shukri is not performed during prayer.

In the book " Majmoo Sharh Al-Muhazzab"The following is written about this:

« The great scholars of our madhhab (ashabs) are unanimous that it is forbidden to perform sujud shukri during namaz, moreover, if a person performs it in this way (during namaz), then his namaz is definitely violated».

Imam Al-Bayhaqi and others report that (may Allah be pleased with them) also performed sujud shukri, and the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sometimes did not perform sujud shukri, they explain by the fact that he thereby wanted to show the optionality of its performance, or At this time, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was on the minbar and it was inconvenient for him to perform sujud in this position.

In addition, you can thank the Almighty for joy by distributing sadaqa, performing the desired prayer as a sign of gratitude to Allah Almighty. In the same book " Majmoo Sharh Al-Muhazzab"The following is written about this:

« If a person who has received grace and been saved from troubles gives sadaqa or performs namaz as a sign of gratitude to Allah Almighty, this is considered a noble deed. It is implied that he does all this and at the same time performs sujud shukri».

You can also express gratitude to Allah Almighty with the help of various duas and praises. Most best shape In praising Allah Almighty, scientists believe:

الحمدلله حمداً يوافي نعمه ويكافيء مزيده

« Alhamdu li-Llahi hamdan yuwafi ni'mahu wa yukafiu mazidahu »

“Praise be to Allah in such quantity and quality, which would be sufficient in gratitude for all His blessings that He has endowed me with, and for those benefits that He will provide in the future.”

Some scientists also claim that best view words of praise are:

الحمد لله بجميع محامده كلها ما علمت منها وما لم أعلم عدد خلقه كلهم ما علمت منهم وما لم اعلم

« Al-hamdu li-Llahi bi-jami'i mahamidihi kulliha ma 'alimtu minha wama lam a'lyam 'adada khalkihi kullihim ma 'alimtu minhum wa ma lam a'lyam ».

« Praise be to Allah by all kinds of praise, those that I know and those I do not know, in an amount equal to all His creations, of which I know and do not know.».

Another formula is also transmitted, which gives praise to Allah Almighty:

يَا رَبِّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا يَنْبَغِى لِجَلاَلِ وَجْهِكَ وَلِعَظِيمِ سُلْطَانِكَ

« I am Rabbi lakya l-hamdu kama yanbagi li-jalali vajika wa li-‘azimi sultanika »

« O my Lord! Praise be to You in proportion to Your splendor and the greatness of Your power».

Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“One man from among the servants of Allah said: “ I am Rabbi lakya l-hamdu kama yanbagi li-jalali vajika wa li azymi sultanika " And these words tired both angels, and they did not know how to write them down. Then these angels ascended to heaven and said to Allah: “ O our Lord, verily, one of Your servants uttered such words that make it difficult for us, we do not know how to write them down" Allah Almighty asked them, knowing better than them what His servant said: “What did My servant say?” They replied: “O our Lord, he said: “ I am Rabbi lakya l-hamdu kama yanbagi li-jalali vajika wa li-‘azimi sultanika"" Then Allah Almighty said to them: “Write down these words as My servant pronounced them until he meets me, so that I reward him for them.” (Ibn Majah)

Summarizing all of the above, we can conclude that if we want to thank Allah Almighty and gain His pleasure, constantly abide in His blessings and never be deprived of them, we need to praise Him as often and as much as possible, pronounce these words, distribute sadaqa, perform prayers and prostrations on each appropriate occasion.

The most detailed description: Muslim prayer of gratitude - for our readers and subscribers.

The Koran, which is the holy book for all Muslims, says that if one prays to Allah every day, it will definitely be rewarded. The belief in this is so strong in the soul of every believer that believers turn to Allah many times throughout the day, both in sorrow and in joy. Every Muslim believes that only Allah is able to protect him from all earthly evil.

Gratitude and Praise to Allah in Daily Prayer

The Koran says that a true believer must praise and thank Allah every day.

The daily prayer translated into Russian is as follows:

Muslim prayers to Allah

There is a huge number of different Muslim prayers, which are read in a wide variety of everyday situations. For example, there are special prayers that need to be read in the morning while dressing and vice versa, in the evening while undressing. Prayers must be said before eating.

Every Muslim always reads a prayer when putting on new clothes, and at the same time asks Allah to protect him from damage. In addition, the prayer mentions giving thanks to the one who created the clothing, as well as asking Allah to send him the highest blessings.

Prayer is required before a believer leaves the house or in cases where one has to enter someone’s house. In this way, reverence and respect are expressed for the people whose home you have to visit.

Prayer "Kulhu Allahu ahad" in Arabic

The prayer “Kulhu Allahu ahad” is aimed at ensuring that a person can fulfill his own desires.

In Arabic, the text of the prayer is:

Lam yalid wa lam yulad

Wa lam yakun allahu, kufuwan ahad.”

It is believed that this appeal is more effective if pronounced in Arabic. It is imperative to take into account that this prayer can be read by a believer who has a pure soul and sincere thoughts. Otherwise, Allah simply will not hear the request and will not help. You also need to know that this prayer cannot be said independently. It is important to understand the very essence of the ritual. The person for whom the prayer is offered must sit on a chair, and the one saying the prayer places his hands on his head.

After this, the words of prayer are said. For greater effectiveness, it is recommended to carry out the ritual for several days in a row.

Listen to the prayer “Kulhu Allahu ahad”:

Text of the prayer “Kulhu Allahu ahad” in Russian

Despite the fact that the prayer “Kulhu Allahu Ahad” is considered stronger in the original language, it is allowed to pronounce its words in Russian. There are several variations of this prayer.

For example, you can pray with the following words:

It is important to understand that this prayer does not carry magical overtones; it contains a philosophical and religious grain. And this is exactly what the people participating in the ritual should fully feel. What is important is sincere faith that Allah will hear the prayer and will definitely reliably protect the person. But this is only possible if a person has a bright soul.

Prayer to Allah for help “O Allah, help me”

Namaz is a mandatory ritual for any Muslim. He will build not only from prayers, but also from certain actions. Therefore, someone who has recently converted to Islam will need to make great efforts to master all the rules. Of course, at first you will need to gradually study all the necessary prayers.

But first of all, you should know that there is a single prayer that can be used at any time.

It sounds like this:

In addition, there is a very important prayer for beginners who are just getting acquainted with the rules of prayer.

After the obligatory prayers, the following prayer phrase should be said:

Prayer "Allah Akbar"

“Allah Akbar” translated from Arabic means the great Lord. This phrase recognizes the power and might of the Almighty. In the Muslim religion, “Allah Akbar” is a formula for recognizing the Greatness of God. This phrase emphasizes obedience to Allah, it is one of the phrases that reflects true obedience to the Almighty, an oath of denial of other powers and dominations.

Every Muslim child understands what Allah Akbar means. This sacred phrase sounds on the lips of Muslims throughout their lives, and these words accompany all the deeds of the faithful. This phrase is always heard in Islamic prayers. It is treated as a separate prayer request.

It can be translated as follows:

It is incorrect to treat this expression as a war cry. It is rather a reminder to the faithful that regardless of the current situation, God is Great and Almighty. It must be remembered that success and happiness for a Muslim comes from Allah, his whole life depends on him. A believer says “Allahu Akbar” when he is very frightened and after that his soul will certainly calm down. Because he will remember that everything is in the hands of God. Using this phrase you can also remove anger from the soul, calm down and prevent wrong actions. This prayer expression is also pronounced in moments of joy and success as a sign of thanksgiving to God.

About gratitude to the Almighty

One alim noticed that a certain poor man was in sadness. He asked the poor man: “Why are you sad?” He answered: “Because of his poverty.” Alim, listing his body parts and organs, began to ask him: “Would you give this organ for such and such a sum of money?”, naming a large sum. The poor man answered every time: “No.” Then the Alim said: “Is it possible to be sad when you have so much wealth?” And the poor man calmed down.

The Almighty has given us countless blessings, and if we do not want to lose these blessings, if we want them to multiply, then we should be grateful to Allah for them, that is, express gratitude to Him (shukr). Some believe that to express gratitude it is enough to say “Alhamdulillah - praise be to Allah.” According to Sharia, gratitude to the Almighty is expressed in a certain way. We will talk about this a little later, but first we will explain the value of shukr.

The 70 verses of the highly revered Koran speak about shukr. This indicates the significance and value of its manifestation. Let's list some advantages of shukr.

1. He who shows shukr is protected from torment (in the next world). The Almighty says in the Quran (meaning): “Allah will not torture you if you are grateful and believe.” (Surah an-Nisa, verse 147).

2. If we show shukr, then Allah will not deprive us of the benefits that He has given us; on the contrary, He will multiply and expand these benefits. The Almighty says in the Quran (meaning): “I swear by My Majesty, if you are grateful to Me, I will multiply your blessings, and if you are ungrateful, truly My punishment is very strong!” (Surah Ibrahim, verse 7).

3. Allah favors a servant who shows gratitude to Him. The Almighty says in the Quran (meaning): “If you are grateful, He will be pleased with your gratitude.” (Surah al-Zumar, verse 7).

For a person there is no greater good, joy, happiness, either in this or in the next world, than the pleasure of the Almighty. That is why the venerable favorites of Allah - the awliyas themselves often repeat and teach their followers to often pronounce the expression (meaning): “O God, my goal is to know You, and what I strive for is Your pleasure.” The pleasure of Allah is heaven in Paradise. For the favorites of Allah, that is, for the awliya, there is nothing more desirable than the pleasure of Allah. So, the pleasure of Allah also goes to the slave who shows gratitude.

There are differences between the blessings of the Almighty that are common to all people and personal to an individual. Most people usually do not notice the common and at the same time most necessary blessings of Allah, even without considering them as blessings.

Common benefits for all are living conditions: sun, air, climate, mind, health, breathing, food, clothing and other priceless benefits, of which there are countless. As Imam al-Ghazali says, many people take this for granted.

If a person has a personal benefit - a big house, a luxury car, or occupies a good position, is popular, etc., then even then he is most often ungrateful to Allah, instead he is proud and has a high opinion of himself.

A person usually realizes the value of goods common to all necessary goods when they are lost. For example, the value of health is realized during illness, vision during blindness, satiety during hunger, breathing during suffocation, etc. Is this reasonable?

In order for us to realize the value of these benefits, the Almighty sends diseases to us and then cures them, that is, he either deprives us of these benefits or returns them to us.

One of the hadiths says that on the Day of Judgment Allah orders the angels to count the blessings that Allah has bestowed on a person who has been engaged in worship for five hundred years, without missing a single moment. The Almighty commands to compare these benefits with the worship of that person, whether they are equivalent. And all his worship, performed over the course of five hundred years, did not compare even with one good thing given to him by Allah - sight. Therefore, we must be grateful for these common benefits and must admit our powerlessness and give due gratitude to Allah for them.

A particularly great blessing that Allah has given us, and for which we can never give due gratitude, is Islam. We must realize the greatness of this good, we must always rejoice at it and thank Allah for it day and night.

One of the awliyas found a certain man lying in the desert under the scorching rays of the sun. His whole body was covered with purulent ulcers in which small insects swarmed. And in this state, he endlessly praised and thanked Allah. The person who comes up says to him: “I don’t see any benefits that you wouldn’t be deprived of, but you give praise and gratitude.” He replied: “What would I do if Allah deprived me of iman (true faith) in my heart?”

This means that iman and Islam, which Allah has given us, contain all the blessings of earth and heaven, this is confirmed by many hadiths. One of them says that a full two-rak'ah prayer performed by a Muslim is better than this world and everything in it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that uttering the expression once “Subhanallahi walhamdulillahi wa la ilaha illa Allahu wa Allahu Akbar” more valuable to him than anything touched by the rays of the sun. A reliable hadith says that for reading Surah Ikhlas three times, the reward is the same as for reading the entire Quran. An authentic hadith cited by Muslim says that whoever reads one salawat for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will receive ten salawat (benefits) from Allah. One of the hadiths says that if you read “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah” , then for each reading of this prayer a tree will be planted in Paradise. Another hadith says that saying a good word is rewarded as sadaqah (donation). If you leave home with the intention of going to the mosque, then for each step a reward is recorded, sins are forgiven and the levels of heavenly blessings increase. And finally, there is a hadith that all eight gates of Paradise will open to the one who sincerely says from the heart "La ilaha illa Allah" (Tirmidhi).

In short, whatever good deed a Muslim does for the sake of Allah, it is for him better than the world this and everything that is in it.

Allah has blessed Muslims with such great blessings. But some Muslims not only do not thank Allah for these blessings, but are drawn to the earthly riches that Allah has endowed on some infidels. They are like someone who is allowed to take as much jewelry as he wants, but instead of acquiring these jewelry, he joined those who collect simple stones and is diligent in this.

Dear brothers, Allah has given us blessings of life that were not available during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), his companions, as well as our ancestors. But this is not enough for us, we strive for even greater earthly blessings, we dream about them, while forgetting about Allah and not showing gratitude for His countless blessings. This world is not as good as Satan tells us. Consider the following fact. In some fifty years, the vast majority of people alive today will leave this world. Their dreams will be fruitless, they will lose the wealth they have collected. If we forget about the eternal world because of the earthly, mortal world, then is this reasonable?

Dear brothers and sisters! We urge you not to waste your free time, spending it dreaming about earthly blessings. Every moment of our life will become precious if we learn to benefit from it. But, unfortunately, we often miss not only a moment, but also minutes, hours, months and even years.

May Allah help us to be grateful for His blessings and to lead our lives in such a way that He is pleased with us! Amine.

Muslim prayer of gratitude

3 types of gratitude to the Almighty

Gratitude in the heart is a state of conviction in this, a firm belief in it and an inner attachment to it.

The Great Sheikh Abdul-Qadir Geylani (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) said:

“We must be on the path of gratitude to Allah for His gifts to us. There are three types of gratitude – with the tongue, with the heart, with all the organs.”

Gratitude with the tongue is the recognition that everything belongs to Allah Almighty. You must realize that all the ways through which good comes to you are from Allah. The Giver of everything, the Creator of everything, the Performer of everything, the Presenter of everything – this is He.

Allah is the most worthy of gratitude. Who should I thank? The one who brought the gift, or the one who gave it to you? Those. one must express respect and gratitude to the Almighty. The one who sees superficially and does not see the true essence is considered ignorant.

You need to realize that everything that is good in a person, be it external, internal or his deeds, is all the mercy of Allah.

Gratitude in the heart is a state of conviction in this, a firm belief in it and an inner attachment to it.

“Every good thing you have is from Allah. And if any misfortune happens to you, then cry out to Him in prayer.” (An-Nakhl, 16/53)

IN Holy Quran There is also this verse:

“Have you not realized that Allah has subordinated to you what is in the heavens and on earth, and has bestowed upon you favors both obvious and hidden [from your understanding]? Among the people there are those who argue about the [Essence and Attributes] of Allah, having neither knowledge, nor the guidance that followed from the Prophet, or the Scripture that would illuminate the path to the Truth." (Lukman, 31/20)

Gratitude from all organs.

It is using all your organs to worship Allah. This is not to give in to the desires of the ego, the shaitan and not to listen to any orders that contradict the commands of Allah.

Allah Almighty said in the Holy Quran:

“You worship idols instead of Allah and affirm lies. Indeed, those whom you worship instead of Allah do not have the power to grant you sustenance (rizaq). So seek your livelihood from Allah, worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned." (Al-Ankabut, 29/17)

The Holy Quran also says:

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا لُقْمَانَ الْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ وَمَن يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ

“We, verily, gave wisdom to Luqman [with the command]: “Give thanks to Allah! The one who gives thanks [does it] only for himself. And if someone is ungrateful, then Allah does not need him, for He deserves praise, even if no one glorifies Him!” "(Lukman, 31/12)

Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The one who said “Subhanallah” - ten rewards.

The one who said “La ilaha illallah” - twenty rewards.

The one who says: “Alhamdulillah” - thirty rewards.

The Great Imam Al-Ghazali (Rahmatullahi alaihi) said:

“If you pronounce the following words with your tongue, but their meaning and essence do not penetrate and settle in your heart, then do not think that you will receive a reward for them. Words "Subhanallah" serve for the Exaltation of Allah, i.e. mean that Allah is above all shortcomings. Words "La ilaha illallah" affirm Monotheism. And the words "Alhamdulillah" testify that all the gifts that exist are all from Allah Almighty. We need to think about all this and realize it.”
