Do-it-yourself construction and repairs

Where to go to the pool? Top places where you can swim for fun. Which pools are open all year round? Where can you swim in the outdoor pool?

You don't have to leave the city to swim in sea water. We present six swimming pools in Moscow, where the water will make you feel like you’re at a resort.

Mikhail Karpukhin

Deputy Head of the Moscow State University Research Center, Candidate of Biological Sciences

Sea water contains two microelements, which are very depleted in our habitat (flat areas far from the sea): iodine and selenium. It is worth noting that our body is capable of absorbing iodine over its entire surface; those who made an iodine mesh for themselves, for example, for muscle strains, were convinced of this. Also, sea water is a less favorable place for the development of microorganisms harmful to humans. For example, salmonella, which loves constant water temperature, does not develop in sea water by default. Sea water has a higher density and is a little easier to swim in, so we can assume that it will be easier for beginners to learn to swim in a pool with sea water rather than fresh water. However, do not forget that the quality of water in such a pool will depend on the quality of the water at the place of its intake. Special requirements are imposed on the collection site to protect the consumer from undesirable health consequences. Also, do not forget that even sea water is subject to careful control and disinfection.

The quality of water in the pool should be checked when changing the disinfectant, after general cleaning, according to the analytical testing plan. At the same time, not only the quality of water in the pool is monitored, but also washouts from surfaces (in the shower, next to the pool bowl, etc.) are taken to determine microbiological safety. Some large swimming pools have their own laboratories for constant technological monitoring of the condition of the system.

Pool "Atlant"

Address: m. "Volgogradsky Prospekt", st. Talalikhina, 28.

Working hours: Mon-Fri - 07:00-22:00, Sat-Sun - 08:00-21:00.

Cost of visit: 1,000 rub. per session, subscription for 4 visits - 3,600 rubles, subscription for 8 visits - 6,800 rubles.

The Atlant pool was already included in our selection. We told you that the saturated salt solution is extracted from an underground sea lake and then undergoes a thorough cleaning before being released into the pool. “Atlanta” has 7 lanes of 25 meters each, the depth varies from 1 to 5 meters, and the water temperature, as a rule, is not less than 28 degrees. A special feature of Atlanta Moscow is that you can even go scuba diving in the pool and receive an international certificate. The pool is open to everyone; sea water will be useful for pregnant women and infants. You won’t be allowed into Atlant without a certificate, but if you didn’t have time to go to the clinic, you can undergo a medical examination right on the spot (cost - 500 rubles). "Atlant" offers special prices for "family" visits to the pool, discounts for children and pensioners - the price can be specified.

Zlata Ludannaya

young mother, pool visitor

I am completely satisfied - the pool is clean, the water is a pleasant temperature, and my skin does not dry out after visiting the pool. Of course, when choosing a pool, the composition of the water and the cleaning system played a big role. I went to Atlant for special classes for pregnant women, and soon we will go there with my daughter for infant swimming.

Fitness club "Kimberly Land"

Ekaterina Druzhinina

advertising manager of the Kimberly Land fitness club

Sea water in our fitness club is prepared according to recipes from the legendary balneological resorts of Russia: Essentuki, Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk. Every two hours we monitor the water quality in the club's pool. The main peak of the pool's workload occurs in the morning (from 9:00 to 10:30) and in the evening (from 18:00 to 20:30). The rest of the time you can swim freely on the paths.

Fitness club La Salute

The La Salute fitness club has a spacious seawater swimming pool (4 lanes of 23 meters each), lined natural stone. The club uses the latest system ionization of water, which made it possible to abandon its chlorination. Both children and adults can learn to swim under the guidance of professional trainers. Visitors can also choose group and personal classes in any type of water aerobics. After visiting the pool, you can relax in the hydromassage, relax on a sun lounger, or visit the Roman steam room or sauna.

Margarita Shcherbina

vice-champion of the Moscow Cup in the category of classic female bodybuilding

I have been visiting the La Salute club for several months now. When choosing a club, I was guided by the convenience of the location and a varied range of services, functional exercise equipment, since I play sports professionally and am a fairly sophisticated user. I often visit the club’s pool; after a hard training week I like to relax, swim and go to the hammam. I think that the seawater pool perfectly complemented the considerable range of services offered by the club. In many fitness clubs, the workload occurs in the evening, but at La Salute I did not notice such sharp changes - you can always swim freely.

Fitness club "Fitness Territory"

Four clubs of the Territory of Fitness network have a swimming pool: on Aviamotornaya, Bratislavskaya, Zhulebino and Pechatniki. The pool uses brine - this is concentrated sea water with a salinity 1.5 times greater than the salinity of the world's oceans. The water in the Fitness Territory pools goes through three stages of purification: first it is passed through a quartz sand filter, then it undergoes biological disinfection, followed by ultraviolet purification. In addition to individual classes and water aerobics classes, visitors to the Fitness Territory in Pechatniki and Zhulebino can train on a water exercise bike.

Anastasia Peleshenko

director of water programs of the network of clubs "Territory of Fitness"

I have heard more than once from our club members that we do not have the smell of chlorine, which is usually present in municipal swimming pools. This is not only pleasant from an aesthetic point of view, but also gives a good cosmetic effect. The skin becomes softer, there is no feeling of dryness after leaving the pool. Athletes who regularly exercise in the pool note a beneficial effect on their nails and hair - they become stronger and look healthier. It is believed that salty water calms and helps relieve stress. At the same time, sea water helps beginners learn to swim - it is a little easier to stay on the surface, which is especially good for children.

Water aerobics is very popular in our clubs. We offer more than 20 types of group lessons in the water, and each one is almost fully booked. This type of training is in the top in terms of attendance. We conduct functional, strength and aerobic classes that are in no way inferior in effectiveness to training in the gym. Water aerobics has some advantages: the muscles don’t hurt, the load on the joints is less, and the exercises are easier to perform. And group lessons in the water are a great way to lift your spirits. The more people, the more emotions and the more stronger energy workout! Sometimes it seems that the pool is simply boiling and seething with the endorphins that we produce.

If you've never been to a backyard beach, visiting Flacon will be an interesting experience. The design factory, converted from an abandoned industrial area, is small in size, but located in the very center. There is a small pool and sand area. Although the place is open 24 hours a day, swimming in the pool at night is not allowed.

The first ski park in Russia also operates here, and you can rent a skimboard. Skimiing is something like surfing, the difference is in the size of the board and the fact that you can surf in shallow water. There are many cafes, local designer shops, and open spaces around. There is a summer bar, there are hammocks, gazebos, and ping-pong tables. Admission is free, but you will have to pay to rent a sunbed and towel.

Beach

You can soak up the sun, occasionally taking a dip in the pool and admiring the yachts moored on one side of the club, at the Shore house. The author of the project is restaurateur Arkady Novikov, so, of course, there is also a cafe here, where you can order refreshing lemonades, hookahs, and dishes of Azerbaijani, Uzbek, European and Japanese cuisines. Find yourself on an island while staying in the city - in Serebryany Bor the Moscow River makes a bend, encircling a small part of the land. The beach stretches along the shore and takes more than a kilometer. It’s always crowded here, with the biggest crowd on Sunday afternoons: it’s worth taking this into account if you want to sunbathe in a relaxed atmosphere. The territory of Serebryany Bor is one large beach, divided into sections, beach No. 3 is the most popular. Swimming is officially allowed; you can buy ice cream and cold drinks on the shore. There are volleyball courts, changing cabins, toilets, and umbrellas.

You can also swim in Bottomless Lake, which is located on an island where there are usually slightly fewer people. By the way, you can also find barbecue places there.

How much: free

When: 24 hours a day

Moscow is not the most favorable place for lovers of swimming: a few beaches and a river with a bad reputation force city residents, even with the arrival of summer, to go to the sea in other countries or go to swimming pools. At the beginning of the next swimming season, The Village made a selection of city pools in the center and not only: what you need to get into the pool, how much a subscription costs and where you can learn to swim with a coach - in our guide.

Things to think about in advance

Medical certificate

A certificate is required to be presented at all pools from the list below, except for the Aqua Complex in Luzhniki. It’s actually not difficult to get it even without a visit to the clinic. One of simple ways, although not the most budget-friendly, - get it right in the Chaika outdoor pool, and at the same time swim there and sunbathe.

Session schedule

Most public pools, especially those attached to educational institutions, have strict schedules. Some hours during the day are reserved for students or students of sports schools. Evening and morning sessions are usually free for single visits and season ticket holders. This can be annoying at first, but if you get used to arriving at a specific session, you can learn to better manage your time. Most pools regularly update their session schedules on their website.

Prevention in the summer season

In summer, almost all pools are closed for about a month for maintenance or repairs. Not at the same time. Everyone has their own prevention schedule, so you can always find a workable option.

Sports training

If you need to learn to swim or improve your level in this matter, you can check the contacts of a coach or swimming school in the pool. Usually the administrator is ready to provide the phone number of specialists who work in the pool and swimming schools that rent lanes for group and individual training. Mavis School, I Love Swimming and Swim Rocket often hold their classes in the pools in the center.

The Olympic swimming pool was built specifically for the XXII Olympic Games 1980

There are actually three swimming pools at the Olimpiyskiy: a 25-meter one in the diving sector and two 50-meter ones in the swimming section: training and demonstration. The water at the Olimpiysky is called fast - 12 Olympic records, 49 world and 42 European records were set in it, as follows from the information on the pool’s website. If you want to feel the atmosphere of records, it is better to go straight to the demonstration bath, where professional championships are held.

If you are interested in trying to learn diving, you can sign up for the appropriate section. The training includes exercises on land - there is a special room in the pool for this.

According to some visitors, the concentration of chlorine in the Olimpiysky tastes higher than in other pools. According to official data, water quality in the pool is constantly measured to ensure compliance with all necessary standards.

Outdoor swimming pool "Chaika"

Outdoor swimming pool "Chaika"

Now “Chaika” is the main and almost the only outdoor swimming pool in Moscow, which is open all year round. Some people do not approve of the pricing policy, others are annoyed by the fitness club system against the backdrop of a not fully modern infrastructure: showers and locker rooms, despite the renovation, still do not live up to the polish of a fitness club. But it’s hard not to appreciate the two open all year round swimming pool, amphitheater wooden terraces, where it’s nice to sunbathe in the summer - fortunately, a ticket to “Chaika” does not have any time restrictions.

CSKA is another pool with history. It was built in 1954 and was Moscow's first Olympic-standard swimming pool. In 2013, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of CSKA, the pool underwent a major renovation. As in the Olimpiyskiy, in addition to the swimming pool, there is a diving sector with towers of one, three, five, seven and ten meters. Subscription visits are not limited in time and are not tied to a calendar month.

Opening hours during the summer season - 2018: the pool is open all summer, but until July 20, because of the World Cup, you cannot enter the Luzhniki grounds without a special pass

The current outdoor swimming pool at Luzhniki appeared as a temporary option between the closure of the old outdoor swimming pool and the completion of construction of a new one in its place. It works only in the summer season. The aqua complex has two swimming pools: a 50-meter sports pool and a small one for relaxation. The ticket price depends on the type of visit: you can buy a ticket with a time limit or for the whole day and spend it on the territory of the aqua complex, where, in addition to the pools, there is an area with sun loungers and a juice bar.

The space of locker rooms and showers at Luzhniki is perhaps the most pleasant of all Moscow swimming pools that are not located in fitness clubs. During the day on weekends, especially in good weather, there are many visitors. If you want to swim calmly, it is better to come early in the morning. And most importantly, this is the only pool where a medical certificate is not required.

This year, to get to the aquatic complex, you will have to wait until after the World Cup. Until July 20, in connection with this, access to the territory of Luzhniki is strictly limited: without a pass you will not be able to get into the pool.
